1. Malfunction - The chain does not rotate or jumps off.

Cause: Worn drive sprocket.

To replace the drive sprocket on the Partner 350, you need to remove the brake side cover and remove the bar and chain.

Next, you need to block the movement of the piston in the cylinder. To do this, unscrew the spark plug and use a special stopper to block the movement of the piston. We unscrew the clutch (item 68), the thread on it is left-handed!

We dismantle the clutch washer (item 67), the drive sprocket with bearing (item 66) and the washer (item 65).

We inspect the drive sprocket; if the teeth are heavily worn, replacement will be required.

The piston stopper is used to block the piston stroke in the cylinder when removing the flywheel or clutch. It can be either plastic or metal.

You should also check the oil filter, which is located in the oil tank. Clean the filter itself and the tank from dirt.

If necessary, replace the filter with a new one.

Unscrew the 3 screws (item 1) securing the air filter housing (item 2)

Remove the air filter (item 11), unscrew the 2 carburetor mounting nuts (item 12), unfasten the throttle cable (item 50) from the carburetor, and the throttle linkage (item 49).

We dismantle the filter casing (item 13), carburetor (item 26) and gasket (item 27)

Unscrew the 2 screws (item 33) securing the carburetor adapter (item 32) and remove it together with the screws (item 31) and gasket (item 30).

Inspect the rubber insert of the carburetor adapter for damage.

We inspect the gaskets (p27,30) for damage and replace them if necessary.

The adapter must be tightly screwed to the engine, the screws are tightened with a thread locker!

We inspect the carburetor adapter for cracks (they can form when the screws are tightly tightened). If necessary, replace it with a new one.

Another source of air leaks can be fuel hoses. It should be noted that very high-quality hoses were installed on the old Partners. However, over time they can also crack. So if there are cracks, you will have to replace the damaged hoses with new ones.

Malfunction - Starter repair Partner 350.

The starter in these saws is of a simple but reliable design. They serve for quite a long time, but over time the starting rope and pulley may wear out (item 29) or the spring may fail (item 28)

To replace the pulley or spring, unscrew the screw (item 30), carefully remove the pulley (item 29), if a spring is required (item 28). After replacing the necessary parts, we install everything in place in the reverse order of removal.

The spring is installed in the groove of the starter housing; the inner bend on the spring must fit into the groove of the pulley for accurate engagement.

It would be a good idea to check the condition of the pawls and springs on the flywheel. The pawls should spring back easily and return to their original position. If there is any damage to the pawls (or their springs), we replace them with new ones. To do this you will have to remove the flywheel (how to do this is described above)

Malfunction - Anti-vibration system and replacement of springs.

I would like to say that the 350 model, in principle, does not have any shock absorbers; the handle is rigidly attached to the body.

Starting with Partner 351, a slightly different crankcase was installed, where the handle was attached to 3 shock absorbers.

Most often, the shock absorber-spring, which is attached to the cylinder (on the left in the figure), breaks.

This consumable is inexpensive, so it is better to replace it if necessary. Replacing springs on a Partner 350 and its other modifications is a simple procedure. They are simply attached with two screws, so we won’t go into detail here.

Malfunction - Tire mounting studs.

Quite rarely, but there are cases of calling for service when the pins in the saw body turn. This occurs due to excessive force applied when tightening the tire nuts.

If the housing is not severely damaged due to this malfunction, then it is necessary to clean the stud seats from dirt, install the studs in place and fix them with epoxy glue (according to the instructions).

If the seats are severely damaged and it is not possible to fix the studs using this method, you will have to replace the saw body with a new one.
