Manitou loaders are equipment manufactured by a French company. They are equipped with telescopic lifting devices that raise and lower the load. A special boom mechanism ensures the use of a set of additional equipment: all kinds of buckets, forks, hooks, devices for mixing concrete-based mortar and various grips. The existing design features and technical capabilities allowed the company to enter the top five world leaders in the production of loaders.

The Kubota V3307-DI-T-E3B model is characterized by reliability, performance, four cylinders, and a volume of 3.33 liters. Operator's cabin
The cabin is comfortable and ergonomic. The driver's seat is comfortable, and you can easily control the functions of the loader from it. This involves the use of a special Joystick Switch & Move control system, which increases work productivity.

First impressions
On the site for an impromptu test drive there are two red cars, which we had previously only seen in photos and videos. In person, a forklift is associated with a sort of stocky, strong man.
Behind the equal-sized wheels there is practically no rear or front overhang. Between them on the left side is a cabin with a glass area similar to an aquarium. Next to the right is the engine compartment, below which the model name with an index is written in white letters.

At the rear of the machine there is a rotating towbar with a rollover protection system and electrical connectors for connecting power to trailers. Above the hood, the designers placed a cyclone-type air prefilter, which can be easily cleaned when dirty: according to the principle of operation, it is comparable to the dust collector flask of a vacuum cleaner. This extends the life of the Donaldson main air filter and reduces fuel consumption.

Let's go to the cabin. To get there, you need to stand on a step. It is equipped with a special hook to prevent the operator’s foot from slipping and causing injury.
The door consists of two halves and swings open 180°. To the right of it at the bottom you can see the hydraulic fluid level indicator, which allows you to check this parameter before starting work.
We sit in a chair that is adjusted to the weight and height of the operator. Before your eyes is a dashboard that allows you to monitor all the main indicators of the car. Below it is a 1-DIN radio with a USB input. There are two speakers located in the rear of the cabin.
Not only will you not slip off such a step, but it will also clear your feet of dirt.
On the right side of the dashboard there is a sensor for the machine's rollover protection system in the event of lifting a load that weighs more than it should. But if the operator does not have enough distance (literally a few centimeters) to unload or lift the load to a given height, he can use the button to turn off the active safety system.
On the right side of the cab there is a joystick for controlling hydraulics, forward and backward movement of the loader and the boom. At the top of the cab there is a water level for the loader tilt indicator. A red button to stop the car in an emergency is located in a prominent place.

The upper part of the roof is glass and protected by bars. During hot sunny weather, the operator can use a translucent sunshade on both the windshield and the top. All MLT forklifts are equipped with air conditioning, so even if it's very hot outside, the cabin is comfortable.

We start the engine. The cabin is quiet and the noise level is minimal: the engine compartment is soundproofed as standard. Compared to my diesel Mazda Bongo, it's just peace and quiet.

About operation
Under the hood is a Perkins 4-cylinder power unit. To start moving, the operator just needs to select a working gear, release the handbrake and switch the direction of movement with a three-position (forward-neutral-backward) key on the joystick. All that remains is to steer with your left hand (a “sloth” is provided), and in some places you need to apply the gas with your foot, and in others you need to slow down.
You can protect yourself from the sun with a special curtain, and a metal grill will protect you from falling loads onto the glass roof.
By the way, operating this “telescope” is even easier than operating a backhoe loader. On the right, near the glass, there is a driving mode switch. There are three of them: “steering” with the front axle, “crab steering” and “track to track”. Due to the correct selection and change of modes, the operator can maneuver in extremely cramped conditions.
It is noteworthy that when turning, no part of the car extends beyond the radius of the wheels.
The dashboard is informative and ergonomic
Manitou MLT-X 735-120 LSU - all-terrain vehicle. Thanks to permanent all-wheel drive with automatic differential lock, powerful axles from Dana Spicer, 44 cm ground clearance and powerful lug tires, the car makes its way through almost any terrain.
“Braking occurs on both axles, on all four wheels. The brake system is multi-disc in an oil bath, with four brake discs on each wheel. This ensures efficient and fast braking and increases operating speed.
When loading and unloading, the machine performs a lot of movements back and forth, moving from warehouse to warehouse, the reliability of the braking system is very important,” explains Mr. Martynushkin.
And we were really convinced that the equipment is easy to control. Even the “telescope”, which accelerates to a maximum speed of 35 km/h, stops easily. Press the pedal and the 7-ton all-terrain vehicle stands rooted to the spot.
Joystick for telescopic boom control
But it’s time to test the working part of the machine - the telescopic boom. To control it, a patented joystick is installed, which you do not need to hold on to - your hand rests on top, without straining your wrist. A slight shift to the side and the arrow quickly went up. Good hydraulics are felt.
“The axial piston pump allows 3 hydraulic actions to be performed simultaneously. For example, lifting and telescoping the boom, and tipping the bucket. Due to its performance and maneuverability, this machine can replace several front loaders. And this saves on fuel and on operators,” says our guide.

A characteristic feature of a 3 cubic meter bucket is the absence of stiffeners and an overlay plate on the edge. Not only is it double-sided, that is, if one side wears out, you can simply unscrew it and unfold it, but it also protects the edge of the “hinge” itself. Accordingly, the bucket can serve for a very long time.
Meanwhile, the list of attachments includes several dozen different items.
True, to change, say, a bucket onto a fork, you need to lower the hitch onto the surface, get out of the cab, pull out the metal pin, then drive up to the forks, hook them and insert the pin. But this operation takes no more than 2 minutes for an experienced operator, taking into account the movement from one hitch to another. Optionally, you can install a hydraulic stopper, then the procedure will go even faster.
Fuel filter
“The machine is equipped with a unique Autooclean radiator cleaning system, that is, a group of radiators is automatically cleaned every 3 minutes for 15 seconds. If you activate it, then every 3 minutes it will turn on for 15 seconds, regardless of the operations being performed, due to a separate drive,” says Mr. Martynushkin.
I was also pleased with the consumption. During intense use, it averages 6-7 liters per hour. Although we note that, like most equipment with imported engines and fuel systems, the Manitou MLT-X 735-120 LSU is not indifferent to the quality of diesel fuel.
“The main disadvantage of Russian fuel is the high sulfur content, which adversely affects the quality of engine oil. Therefore, in order to use modern technology for a long time, you need to do maintenance and change the oil in a timely manner.
And select it strictly according to the API certification recommended by the equipment manufacturer. But in our experience, Manitou loaders do not have any global problems with the fuel system,” explains our mentor.
