Device Description

The plant for the production of Agat equipment is a branch of Moscow Mash and has been operating since 1968.

Thanks to the use of professional engines from well-known brands, the manufacturer managed to create a whole series of modern walk-behind tractors . These are classic devices with optimal technical characteristics and easy operation.

IMPORTANT!

The equipment is used to perform a full cycle of work on landscaping gardens and vegetable plots. Due to the attachments, motor cultivators can replace several devices.

They are suitable for plowing the soil, digging up roots, cultivating, garbage collection and other tasks..

Design Features

All units of this brand belong to the middle class of motor vehicles for performing agricultural work on small farms or in vegetable gardens. The basis of the cultivators is cutters in place of pneumatic wheels and a power take-off shaft. The heart of the installation is a diesel or gasoline engine. Domestic farmers do not give preference to any one engine, because diesel is more powerful, and gasoline allows the walk-behind tractor to operate in any weather and climatic conditions.

The frame is based on steel angles, onto which protective fenders, an engine, a gearbox and a control handle are attached using bolts and brackets. The balance of all components prevents the unit from tipping over during work. For strength, the center of gravity was shifted forward and located closer to the bottom.

The transmission of Agat walk-behind tractors is a clutch and gearbox. The transmission of most units is a three-speed manual. Everything in the clutch remains from the Salyut, as from a time-tested device. There is a control lever, tension pulley, return spring and V-belt. All this increases the endurance of the equipment even when working on virgin soil.

The walk-behind tractors are equipped with a gear reducer with an aluminum housing. Gear connections increase the reliability of the transmission under loads. The gearbox here is oil-filled to ensure uninterrupted torque.

Chassis in the form of an axle shaft. To increase maneuverability, the kit includes removable pneumatic wheels. In rare cases - caterpillars. The manufacturer has provided a hitch for attachments.

Series and brief description

The main difference between different modifications of Agat motor cultivators is the use of different engines.

Productivity depends on this. The design, layout and spare parts are identical.

The technique includes several series:

  • BS-1 - a device with an American-made B&S Vanguard engine, developing speeds of up to 7.8 km/h and suitable for processing medium-sized areas;
  • BS-6.5 - walk-behind tractors with a Briggs&Stratton RS engine made in the USA with 6.5 horsepower with two forward and one reverse gears;
  • BS-5.5 - equipment is equipped with 5.5 hp Briggs&Stratton RS engines, capable of processing areas 60 cm wide and 25 cm deep;
  • X-5.5 - models with a HONDA GP 200 engine from a famous Japanese brand for cultivating soil 30 cm wide;

  • R-6 is a series of equipment with Japanese Subaru engines of 7.5 hp, which processes an area 90 cm wide in one treatment.

Run-in

Agat 6.5 Lifan special equipment requires regular maintenance and initial running-in, which is performed when purchasing a new or used device. This process is carried out in several stages:

  1. Refueling the walk-behind tractor and checking the oil level. If necessary, add oil.
  2. Start the engine and idle (no more than 15 minutes).
  3. Work at medium speed. At this stage, work is performed in all gears and the optimal position is selected.
  4. Operation with additional equipment. Checking existing devices for low power (no more than 60% of the maximum level).

After completion of the run-in, technical maintenance of the equipment is carried out.

Attachments

The manufacturer of walk-behind tractors Agat took care of the needs of dacha owners and village residents by producing a large assortment of attachments.

The functionality of walk-behind tractors has increased dramatically, because now with the help of multiple attachments, you can perform the following work:

  • plant potatoes;
  • hill up the beds;
  • choose potatoes;
  • mow the grass;
  • remove snow;
  • water the beds;
  • transport bulk and piece goods, etc.

Adapter Grousers Potato digger Potato planter Rotary mower Zarya Shovel-mouldboard Reversible plow Hiller Trailer Snow blower Active cutter Brush

To attach all of the listed canopies, you will need a hitch; when arable work on particularly dense soils, you may need weighting agents that will help the cutters (plow) go deeper into the ground to the required depth.

Milling cutters

A rototiller is the main equipment of a walk-behind tractor, designed for cultivating all types of soil.

Active type cutter Crow's feet cutter

There are two types of cutters:

  • active type;
  • “crow's feet”.

Active cutters are also divided into categories; they are three-blade and four-blade. Included with any of the Agat units are four-leaf cutters (the knives are mirrored for the right and left cutters). They are made of durable hardened steel, each knife has a sharpening. The cutter does double duty - it cultivates the soil and moves the walk-behind tractor forward in the direction of travel.

Adapter

On fairly large plots of land (50-100 acres), it is advisable to use an Agat walk-behind tractor with an adapter.

Adapter

The adapter is a wheelset with a fixed seat and a hitch that attaches this structure to the walk-behind tractor itself. Convenient control of the device adds comfort to the operator.

Cart

The trolley for the Agat walk-behind tractor is designed for transporting piece and bulk cargo.

Trailer

The trailer can have different dimensions and different load capacities (up to 500 kg). Unloading can be either manual or mechanized, by tipping the body towards the tailgate.

Mowers

The most popular type of lawn mower is the Zarya mower for the Agat walk-behind tractor.

Rotary mower Zarya

This attachment is attached to the front of the unit and mows grass, single bushes, and hay. “Zarya” belongs to the rotary type canopies; it not only mows vegetation to a height of 5 cm, but also stacks it. With the help of this equipment, feed is prepared for livestock, as well as lawn care.

Pneumatic wheels

Pneumatic wheels for the Agat walk-behind tractor are included with the unit itself.

Pneumatic tires

The wide tread allows you to provide the necessary grip on the ground, thereby increasing the cross-country ability of the walk-behind tractor. The wheel can be used together with a mower attachment, a snow blower, a pump, or a trailed cart. In all other cases, it is more effective to use a lug.

Lugs

Attachments such as lugs are used for plowing land, hilling beds, and weeding plants. Their special design not only creates the necessary grip on the ground, but also additionally loosens the ground.

Lugs

The lugs are worn complete with a plow, hiller, potato digger and potato planter. When purchasing a hitch, you need to pay attention to its dimensions. Many owners of motor vehicles prefer to make lugs for the Agat walk-behind tractor with their own hands, adapting them to their needs.

Plow

Particularly popular attachments for the Agat walk-behind tractor are the reversible plow. With the help of this canopy, arable work is carried out. What is better for plowing - cutters or a plow?

Reversible plow

Experienced farmers prefer to use a plow in the following cases:

  • During the primary cultivation of virgin lands.
  • During autumn arable work (weed roots pulled out of the ground freeze in winter, making further tillage easier).

In all other cases, it is better to use cutters that do not damage the top fertile soil layer. They do not turn over layers of earth from top to bottom, as a plow does, but only fluff up the earth, making it soft and saturated with oxygen.

snow blower

Modern motorized devices are prepared for work at low temperatures. Thanks to this, and all kinds of snowmobile attachments to the Agat walk-behind tractor, the walk-behind tractor can be used in winter.

Blade shovel Brush Snow blower

There are three types of snow blowers:

  • shovel (blade);
  • brush;
  • auger snow blower.

To install the snow blower on the Agat walk-behind tractor, just secure it using a hitch in the front part of the unit. After which it is necessary, using the power take-off shaft and the corresponding gear, to provide torque to the working element (auger or brush).

The shovel is installed on the Agat walk-behind tractor only with the help of a hitch. With its help, you can not only clear snow debris, but also level soil, fine gravel, remove garbage, etc. Complete with this canopy, the walk-behind tractor turns into a miniature bulldozer.

Potato digger

This device allows you to mechanize the harvesting procedure for potatoes and other crops. The tubers are pulled to the surface of the ground and laid out in rows. The captured soil is sifted through a special screen.

Potato digger

Potato planter

Mechanized planting of potatoes using an Agat walk-behind tractor is possible together with a special attachment - a potato planter.

Potato planter

This device plants potato tubers at a given distance from each other to the required depth. In addition, a soil ridge is formed behind the planter. Often the nozzle is equipped with a fertilizer sowing unit, with which fertilizers are applied.

Hiller

You also can’t do without a hiller in the garden. With the help of this unit (hiller), you can perform other work: weeding beds from weeds, cutting beds for planting plants.

Hiller

Hilling up potatoes, for example, improves yields. The unit itself is made of structural steel and consists of several elements (collapsible design).

Reviews

  • I bought an Agat 6.5 Lifan walk-behind tractor in the spring of 2015. The extensions did not immediately fit the wheels, since the diameter of the bushings turned out to be smaller than the diameter of the shaft. As a result, I bought additional extension cords. There was less oil in the gearbox than required, again I bought it myself. The engine, although Chinese, worked quite well. There were no complaints against him at all. There was almost always enough engine power. Oil leaked from the bolts in the gearbox several times, but this did not cause any serious problems. True, the oil had to be topped up after the end of the season. The drive belts shattered again on the second one at the end of the season. There have been no other problems so far. In general, for its price category I think the walk-behind tractor is quite tolerable.
  • Agate 6.5 Lifan is an excellent and reliable machine. Over the 6 years of operation there were a minimum of breakdowns and planned replacements. During this time I had to additionally buy 2 belts and several candles. Scheduled work includes an annual oil change in the gearbox and engine. The walk-behind tractor is very convenient and maneuverable. The presence of reverse speed allows it to be used in small areas. The center of gravity is very low, which adds comfort during operation. Among the shortcomings, I would like to highlight the ill-conceived location of the speed switch - you have to bend down to switch them. The Lifan engine is very reliable and allows you to work on any soil. I recommend this walk-behind tractor to everyone.
  • I spent a long time choosing a device for working on the site and settled on the Agat 6.5 Lifan model. Everything was decided by an acceptable ratio of power, quality and cost. I bought the device in May 2013. The first launch went well. Already during the run-in, he began to cultivate the land. I have never had any problems starting the unit. Moreover, the Lifan engine performed excellently even at low temperatures. The walk-behind tractor worked perfectly for 3 seasons. Last year I bought additional equipment (a plow and a potato digger). Installing and working with them did not cause any problems. For my small plot (15 acres), this walk-behind tractor turned out to be ideal.
  • I purchased Agat 6.5 Lifan equipment in the spring of 2015. Halfway through the first season, both internal belts broke. During the inspection, I found several burrs on the inner gear pulley. I managed to remove them myself using a file. There were no more problems with the walk-behind tractor. It withstands high loads quite well and does not become capricious in difficult conditions. It uses very little gasoline - with intensive work, about 1.4 liters per hour. So far, Agat 6.5 Lifan delivers positive emotions.
