Garbage trucks

Garbage trucks can rightly be called the workhorses of the housing and public utilities sector. Special equipment of this type is widely used in housing and communal services, manufacturing, and construction. The main purpose of garbage trucks is the collection, mechanized loading and compaction of solid household waste for the purpose of removal to disposal sites.

An extensive range of garbage trucks ( KAMAZ garbage truck , ZIL garbage truck , GAZ garbage truck , MAZ garbage truck , Mtsensk garbage trucks ) allows these machines to be used for various jobs - both in urban environments and in large-scale construction work. According to the method of mechanized loading, garbage trucks are: rear-loading, manual loading, side-loading, container and portal garbage trucks.

An important indicator of the operation of a garbage truck is the compaction coefficient, which ranges from 2.5 to 6. The highest compaction coefficient is found in MAZ garbage trucks and KAMAZ garbage trucks, which perform a range of works on the collection and removal of large-sized, construction and industrial waste collected in replaceable containers of large capacity. Garbage trucks manufactured on the KAMAZ platform are able to satisfy almost any need for the removal of household waste, as they have a convenient mechanism for tipping containers with a large loading angle, and a simple and effective automated compaction mechanism. All these capabilities of MAZ and KAMAZ garbage trucks increase productivity and reduce operating costs for consumers.

Bunker trucks

The main difference between bunker trucks and garbage trucks is that bunker trucks have a replaceable bunker mounted on a ZIL or MAZ chassis. The use of several removable bunkers allows you to save time and the fleet of municipal equipment - the bunkers can be loaded without waiting for the bunker truck to return. You can simply unload the bunker in the right place, and, without waiting for it to be loaded, send the bunker truck for the next bunker. Thus, public utilities using bunker trucks in their work save up to 70% of transportation costs. Bunker trucks are universal, which makes them one of the most popular vehicles in the public utilities sector and indispensable assistants for any city service.

Basically, bunker trucks are manufactured on the chassis of ZIL vehicles. Such bunker trucks are reliable and unpretentious in operation, and the history of their use over decades testifies to the right choice of public utilities.

Garbage trucks based on ZIL

The use of vehicles specialized specifically for waste removal began not so long ago. Garbage collection equipment has been installed on almost all domestic trucks since the late 80s, including the most popular medium-tonnage truck ZIL-130.

It should be noted that the plant named after. Likhachev, which produces trucks, does not produce garbage trucks. The first garbage truck based on this truck was produced by the Mytishchi Machine-Building Plant, which created a wide variety of specialized vehicles based on this truck, including garbage trucks.

They are garbage trucks based on the chassis of a car of the ZIL family, on which special equipment is installed - a hopper and a loading device - a manipulator. The installation location of the manipulator determines the loading method - side or rear.

This equipment, installed on the car chassis, allows you to mechanically lift the container and unload its contents into the bunker.

Buy a ZIL garbage truck

The purchase of special vehicles requires significant financial costs from organizations. If there are no funds, but equipment is needed, a loan or leasing comes to the rescue. You can purchase equipment under these conditions at EMG. Through cooperation with leading banks and leasing companies in the country, we will be able to offer profitable specialized programs for financing garbage trucks. From us you can purchase rear-loading garbage trucks, which have excellent technical characteristics:

  • «;
  • "TM8" on ISUZU chassis;
  • "TM8" on FUSO chassis;
  • «.

They are compact and maneuverable, which is an undeniable advantage in cramped conditions in a city, country or cottage village. Spacious bodies and a high garbage compaction ratio of 6:1 allow you to load and remove large amounts of garbage in one trip. The machines are fully automated, so the driver does not need to participate in loading and unloading operations, which significantly saves time.

The main advantages of our technology:

  • long service life;
  • versatility;
  • reliability in operation;
  • control of loading and unloading processes from the driver’s cabin;
  • high quality hydraulics.

You can get information on the cost of special equipment, leasing or loan registration and other questions from our managers by calling the hotline. We also provide service and warranty services for special vehicles and sell spare parts for all systems of such vehicles.

Design Features

In general, equipment from different manufacturers installed on the chassis of ZIL vehicles is structurally very similar.

A bunker is a closed container in which household waste is placed. For loading, special hatches are used in the upper part. To prevent waste from spilling during transportation through the loading hatch, it is equipped with a hinged lid.

The rear part of the bunker is opening and equipped with a hydraulic drive. When unloading waste, it opens, the hopper tips over and unloading takes place. For convenience of work and to exclude human participation in the unloading process, the rear part is equipped with automatic locks, and it is also possible to have an unloading plate, which, when unloading, pushes waste out of the hopper.

Loading of waste is carried out by a hydraulically driven manipulator. The placement of the manipulator can be either lateral or rear. The difference in the loading method comes down to the fact that when loading from the back, another hopper is used - the loading hopper, into which waste is placed, sometimes manually, and then this hopper is used to unload it into the main hopper. Side loading implies the presence of a manipulator, which is equipped with a gripper for waste containers.

The manipulator control panel is often located on the side under the hopper. This allows the operator complete control of the loading process.

All the differences between different models of garbage trucks come down to the model of the ZIL chassis used, the volume of the hopper and the position of the manipulator for loading.

Chassis used

As for the chassis, the first to use ZIL-130 as a base for garbage trucks were equipped with equipment for dump trucks, that is, a hydraulic body lifting system. The presence of this system made it possible to use a hydraulic manipulator, as well as tilting the hopper for unloading.

Since there are several manufacturers of equipment for garbage trucks, each chose certain chassis that appeared after the ZIL-130. As a result, this resulted in the appearance of ZiL-based garbage trucks with different performance indicators. The ZIL-130 was replaced by the ZIL-431412, which was essentially the same model, but with a different designation and slightly improved technical characteristics. Another model that has performed well as a garbage truck is the ZIL-4331.

Based on the ZIL-5301 “Bychok”, a garbage truck with a small bunker volume is produced. But this model is considered effective because it is loaded from the rear, which allows you to load large waste into the hopper.

The ZIL-433362 truck chassis is one of the most popular among manufacturers of waste collection equipment. This model ensured the use of equipment on vehicles from this manufacturer that was optimally suited for carrying capacity.

Application of garbage trucks

Garbage trucks "ZiL" are used for loading and transporting solid waste to disposal or processing sites. Garbage trucks "KO-442/442-01" and "MKZ" can also be used together with special transport vehicles for reloading waste in a two-stage solid waste removal system.

Due to their excellent maneuverability, such machines are widely used among public utilities: the equipment serves private sectors, places of mass recreation, construction organizations, adjacent areas of apartment buildings, as well as areas that do not have stationary waste collection sites.

The main advantages of the ZIL garbage truck are:

  • large body volume;
  • automated waste loading and unloading processes;
  • significant life of the chassis and hydraulic systems;
  • durable, impact-resistant body;
  • used with waste bins of standard sizes;
  • economical fuel consumption.

Prices for a garbage truck based on the ZIL, depending on the configuration of the special equipment, are set at 2 million rubles.

Review of popular models

Next, we will consider several models of waste collection equipment that are used on ZIL cars.

MKZ-10/MKZ-2703

One of the popular models of waste collection equipment used on ZiL is produced by the Mikhnevsky Mechanical Repair Plant. The model of this manufacturer is designated MKZ-10. These garbage trucks have rear loading waste. An unloading plate is located inside the bunker. The rear part, in which the loading hopper is located, has a large opening angle, which makes it possible for both mechanical and manual loading of waste.

It should be noted that the model of this waste collection equipment is not always designated as MKZ-10. Some dealers have it designated MKZ-2703. But this is the same model, and their characteristics are similar.
