Case IH agricultural machinery – for those who want more!

The Case brand was founded in the United States of America in the mid-19th century. Now this company is famous throughout the world for its first-class construction equipment. The first excavator, which could simultaneously serve as a loader, rolled off the assembly line in 1957. The modern Case dealer network is developed in many countries.

Birth of a brand

The history of Case began in 1842.
The Case organization at that time was engaged in the development and production of threshing machines. However, the industrial revolution was gaining momentum. Soon, the first steam engine for use in agriculture came out of the Case assembly shop. There was very little time left until Case International would become the largest manufacturer of steam engines. Over 70 years, the manufacturer has come a long and difficult way from simple threshers to steam rollers and graders. However, the business grew and the company developed. In 1957, management decided to expand the business. American Tractor Corporation and a number of other smaller entities were acquired. Already in the mid-90s, Case reached the global level, becoming a leading manufacturer of light and medium-sized equipment. But the most important event in the life of the company was the merger of Case and New Holland into the CNH Global corporation, a future world-class manufacturer of equipment for construction and agriculture.

Additional equipment

The ability to use attachments makes Case loaders and tractors indispensable in any field of activity associated with labor-intensive work.

With the help of interchangeable “nozzles” the loader can turn into an excavator or a snowblower.

In addition to the main equipment, Case offers attachments:

  • buckets;
  • brushes;
  • pitchfork;
  • grips;
  • drills and hydraulic hammers.

Additional equipment is a way to save money, space and expand the range of available types of work.

Development of Case Construction in the second half of the 20th century

It was this period in the company’s life that became decisive.
It was full of events, strong-willed decisions, revolutionary discoveries, great successes and serious troubles. Let's start with 1957, which is memorable for two events at once. A small private company was acquired in Indiana that was engaged in the development and production of backhoes for excavators. By that time, she was already developing a new wheeled tractor, the design of which included a backhoe at the back and a bucket at the front.

Already in the spring of the same year, Case International introduced an innovative model of the Case Model 320 backhoe loader.

The second fateful event was the company’s new offer to its clients - financial services through Case Credit.

In 1969, Case launched the production of universal skid steer loaders. The first workshop was opened in Iowa, but in the 80s the production site of such loaders was moved to Kansas.

In 1982, Case celebrated its anniversary - 25 years since the release of the first backhoe loader. The presentation of a new model of a machine of this type - 580 D - was timed to coincide with this day. 6 years later, the company’s loaders were noted in the popular magazine “Fortune”, being included in the hundred best industrial products in the USA.

In 1994, the company's shares were publicly offered, and the world saw several new brands. At the same time, a contract was signed with the famous Japanese company Sumitomo Heavy Industries. Joint production of equipment aimed at the North American market began.

In 1995, Case entered into several important agreements with component manufacturers, strengthening its position in the construction equipment market.

Just two years later, Bor-Mor was taken over by Case. Not only the production of drilling equipment was opened, but also its maintenance began. What especially stood out was the only loader at that time equipped with an onboard HDD turning circuit.

In the spring of the same year, the company managed to develop and release very successful mini-loaders of the XT series. The equipment quickly took a leading position in sales, thanks to its high destructive force, lifting capacity and hydraulic capabilities.

Case was able to truly reach the global level in 1998. An additional agreement signed with Sumimoto allowed the organization to work with clients around the world. In the same year, the world's first backhoe loaders were developed, the feature of which was the ability to smoothly adjust the stroke.

1999 marked the beginning of a new era in the company's development. Case International has signed a merger agreement with New Holland. The resulting CNH Global continues to sell agricultural and construction equipment to this day.

Types of products for repair, construction, land management and mining work

Case produces equipment for the whole world, so in its developments it takes into account the characteristics of different regions and the operating conditions of its products. The company works in several priority areas:

  1. Construction, including earthmoving, road, concrete equipment:
      graders;
  2. bulldozers;
  3. excavators;
  4. trenchers;
  5. pipelayers;
  6. skating rinks;
  7. loaders, etc.
  8. Agricultural: tractors, combines, feed distributors.
  9. Mini equipment for limited space conditions.
  10. Attachments needed for:
  • working with soil and vegetation;
  • drilling;
  • carrying out repair, dismantling, storage and cleaning activities.

IMPORTANT. Loaders and tractors are designed for the use of attachments, the variety of models of which allows you to cover any area of work.

Case today

With the advent of the 21st century, the company has significantly strengthened its position in the global market. In 2000, the first H Series crawler dozers rolled off the production lines. They were equipped with the Case-exclusive PowerTurn unit, unique for that time. The gearbox and components have been significantly improved, allowing their wear to increase significantly. At the same time, the popular series of mini-loaders 1800 Series celebrated its anniversary, releasing the 100,000th machine of this model range.

Among the Case developments of that time, the unique series of M Series backhoe loaders is especially notable. The design of these machines had a number of innovative developments: Pro Control System, hydraulic shovel hitch, increased visibility of the operator's cabin, and significantly increased lifting force.

The development of computer technology has not bypassed construction equipment. The result of this symbiosis was the CX series excavators, which appeared on the market in 2001. Their main goal was to increase productivity. And it was accomplished thanks to the unique built-in intelligence. The technology was nicknamed “thinking”.

In 2002, the concern gave the rights to produce trenchers and drilling rigs to Astec Industries, Inc., entering into an alliance with it.

Today, Case International enterprises can be found in many countries around the world. The concern's dealer network is growing every year. The company's product line is represented by agricultural machinery, tractors, bulldozers, loaders and components for them.

All modern Case model ranges are distinguished by the use of the most advanced technologies in their creation, electronic diagnostics of the work process and even the possibility of unmanned driving. Our website provides a brief history of Case.

The most popular models

This review is devoted to the pneumatic-wheeled representatives of the Case family of excavators. The machines are represented by modifications of the third and fourth series, which have the functions of a front loader and the ability to excavate soil. The main areas of application of this technology are:

  • movement of soil layers, planning of land plots or construction sites;
  • loading/unloading of bulk materials, rocks, minerals, garbage and other cargo;
  • digging ditches, trenches, preparing foundation pits.

The units proposed for analysis have a general purpose, but differ in operational characteristics and design elements.
