Device
The truck crane diagram consists of the following elements:
- automobile chassis (transfer of force from the engine to the propulsion unit for movement and control of vehicles);
- pump drive (for rotating the internal combustion engine);
- support frame;
- hydraulic equipment (to control the flow of working fluid and change or maintain the required values of pressure and fuel flow);
- fuel tank;
- rotating connection (connects the elements of the hydraulic and pneumatic control system);
- telescopic boom (for smooth changes in length with working load);
- hydraulic cylinder for changing the boom angle;
- swivel mechanism;
- lifting mechanism winch;
- operator's cabin with controls and instruments;

Mechanisms and hydraulic equipment are located on a rotating platform; they are covered with a casing. The torque that is developed by the engine is transmitted through the PTO to the gearbox of the automobile chassis and the driveshaft to the pump.

A 25-ton truck crane with or without jib, based on KAMAZ, is one of the most popular vehicles on the market. This is a fairly universal technique, used during repair and emergency work, in construction and on industrial sites, during loading and unloading operations of installing metal structures.

Advantages and disadvantages of technology
Among the advantages of this model of truck crane are:

The Galichanin KS-55713-4 truck crane with a lifting capacity of 25 tons is designed for loading and unloading, construction and installation work at dispersed sites.
The crane unit is mounted on a special all-wheel drive crane chassis of the KamAZ-53228 vehicle, with the ability to lock cross-wheel and center differentials and stabilizers for lateral and longitudinal stability. The chassis has a 10-wheel layout: one wheel on the front axle and two on the rear axles on each side. These advantages give the crane versatility and allow it to be used for driving both on hard-surface roads and on soft or loose soils.
The crane installation is driven by two axial piston hydraulic pumps, which are driven by the engine of the base vehicle through a gearbox and an additional power take-off. The crane mechanisms have an individual drive with independent control from hydraulic motors and hydraulic cylinders. The hydraulic system of the crane installation ensures smooth control of all mechanisms with a wide range of speed control for working operations, as well as the ability to simultaneously combine several crane operations.
A three-section telescopic boom with a length of 9.7 - 21.7 meters in the retracted position provides the crane with compactness and maneuverability when moving, and in the extended position it provides a large working area and a large height for moving the load during operation.
Additional equipment of the boom with a lattice jib 9 meters long allows us to provide the largest service area and the size of the under-jib space among similar models of 25-ton cranes. The transfer of the jib from the transport position to the working position and back is done manually without the use of additional lifting equipment.
The ability to telescope a boom with a load on a hook allows the crane to perform special tasks: installing loads in hard-to-reach places, carrying them among mounted structures. For the convenience of working in cramped conditions, a mode for working with loads is provided with the installation of the crane on supports with the outrigger beams retracted.
The safe operation of the Galichanin KS 55713-4 KamAZ 53228 crane is ensured by a complex of instruments and devices, including a microprocessor load limiter with a digital indication of operating parameters on the display in the driver’s cabin. The device automatically protects the crane from overload and capsizing, is equipped with a crane coordinate protection system necessary for working in cramped conditions, has a built-in telemetric memory unit (“black box”) and a crane protection module from dangerous voltage (MZON) for working near power lines.

The XСMG truck crane can lift a load of more than 6 tons to a height of about 40 meters. With a boom reach of 30 meters, the truck crane is capable of lifting a load weighing up to 0.5 tons.
Models with 21.7 and 23.7 m booms
The machines are equipped with a boom of 9.7 - 21.7 m with a maximum hook lifting height of 21.9 m (with a jib of 30 m). The total lifting capacity with the boom extended is 4 tons. A lifting capacity of 25 tons is achieved with an outreach of 3.2 m. The support contour with extended outriggers is 4.2x5.6 m, with retracted ones - 4.2x2.28. The line includes:
- KS 55713 1 based on KamAZ 65115 (6x4). The platform is equipped with a Cummins ISB6.7e4 300 engine with a power of 219 kW, vehicle dimensions are 12x2.5x3.6 m. An analogue with the index KS 55713 1K is produced at Klintsovsky AZ JSC.
- KS 55713 4 based on KamAZ 53228 (6x6). An all-wheel drive 10-wheel chassis with inter-wheel and center differential locks and stability stabilizers provides the ability to move on off-road, loose and swampy surfaces. The machine is equipped with a KamAZ 740.622-280 engine with a power of 206 kW and has dimensions of 12x2.5x3.7 m.
- KS 55713 5 based on KamAZ 43118 (6x6) with a KamAZ 740.662 300 power unit, the power of which is 221 kW. A strong engine, wide tires with inflation, and the presence of inter-axle and inter-wheel locks ensure cross-country ability in the absence of roads. The Klintsovsky analogue has the index KS 55713 5K 3.
- Modernized KC 55713 5L on the KamAZ 43118 (6x6) platform. The crane is equipped with an ovoid boom of 9.7-23.7 m with a lifting height of up to 24.2 m (with a jib up to 33 m). A lifting capacity of 25 tons is provided with a boom outreach of 3.4 m; with extended sections, the permissible weight is 6 tons. The dimensions of the support contour with extended supports are 4.9 x 6.1 m, with retracted ones - 4.9 x 2.27. The dimensions of the machine are 11.8x2.5x3.9 m. How to choose the right truck crane?
The ability to perform operations to move goods, the profitability of the work, and the level of safety depend on how correctly the truck crane is selected. The main task is to find a middle ground here. In the absence of knowledge in matters of construction technology and installation of heavy structures, it is necessary to clearly understand the following points:
- Specifics of the cargo. Fragile materials that need to be handled carefully are best transported using new, smooth-feeding equipment.
- Required load capacity, delivery height. The accuracy of choosing these parameters for the crane used leads to lower material costs.
- Landscape specificity. In mountainous or hilly areas with large slopes, it is necessary to use truck cranes with increased stability.
- Freedom of maneuver on site. In conditions of limited space, truck cranes with a rotating front and rear axle are ideal.
- Construction site location. Some models are adapted to work only with a developed structure of access roads, others - off-road.
