Gazelle 405 is a commercial vehicle on which an engine from the ZMZ 405 family is installed. Therefore, here we are talking about the type of engine, and not about the name of the car itself.
The 405 engine has a four-cylinder injection system for supplying fuel. Initially, the 405 engine, which was designated by the index 405.25.10, was developed for the Volga (GAZ 3111).
Subsequent improvements made it possible to obtain 4 versions of this power unit. Currently, Gazelle Business is equipped with a modified version of the engine with index 405.24.10 and continues to use 405.22. In addition to the domestic car, this installation is found on the Italian Fiat Ducato.
Most classic Gazelles are equipped with versions 405.22.10. When servicing them, questions often arise about what oils to fill in the Gazelle 405 and how often to change the engine fluid. In the case of competent and timely service, a minimum of problems arise with the engine, and its long-term and reliable operation is achieved.

12.1. Rearranging seats on GAZ-3221, 32217 cars
In the interior of GAZ-3221, 32217 cars, it is possible to rearrange the seats 1
and
2
(Fig. 12.1) compartment arrangement and their seat belts in positions A and B.
To rearrange you need:
- remove table 3
by unscrewing the bolts securing it to the side of the cabin and the screws securing the table stand to the floor, close the floor hole with the supplied plug and secure it with the screws securing the stand; - unscrew the bolts securing the seat supports 1
and
2
to the body floor (to access these bolts, you must remove the decorative plastic plugs for the supports of the stands of the stands, having previously moved them horizontally), unscrew the bolts securing the seat support

to the cabin side bracket; - remove the seat lap belts;
- unscrew the bolts securing the seats to the stands and disconnect the seats from the stands;

When installing the seat belt reel, you must make sure that the post pin fits into the fixing hole of the reel, and when installing the upper belt guide, make sure that the belt tape easily unwinds from the reel;

Konstantin, Lipetsk. I have been working for the third year on a GAZelle Business with a 2.9 UMZ-4216 engine. I can’t say anything bad about the engine except for the low quality of spare parts - they just need to be changed on time, as well as consumables changed in a timely manner. Otherwise, GAZelle Business is no better or worse than the first models of this family, which I also had the opportunity to drive.
Vitaly, Taganrog. My Gazelle will outlive any foreign car, because it is ideally prepared for Russian conditions. This truck with a domestic UMZ engine will overcome any road obstacle, only all-wheel drive is not enough. And the ground clearance is like that of real all-terrain vehicles. And the ground clearance practically does not sag when fully loaded, which means the suspension is strong enough and designed for slight overload.
