Technical characteristics of diesel and electric Bulgarian forklifts

Special machines are required for loading and unloading operations. It was for such purposes that the Bulgarian forklift DV 1792 was created. It, along with other similar machines, was produced in the city of Balkankar, in Bulgaria. Over the years, the Bulgarian plant has produced a large number of these unique machines. Maneuverable, nimble and at the same time powerful, they have been working in the vast expanses of the former Union for decades and have gained fame. In factories in many Russian cities, in warehouses, in sea and river ports, at train stations and other places, these tireless, unpretentious machines are still working. And they will work for many more years.

The car also has disadvantages . This is primarily noise. Often you have to work on such a machine in closed spaces. The diesel noise during operation is tiresome. In addition, diesel pollutes the air with exhaust gases. If the machine is running outdoors, this is not as noticeable. When the machine operates indoors, gas pollution occurs; air ventilation must be monitored. But the car has more positive qualities. Maneuverable and easy to use, it is best suited for transporting and storing medium-sized containers and palletized goods. The power and lifting height of the load on the forks allow you to quickly and reliably retrieve (or put in place) a container with parts in specialized warehouses.

The BALKANCAR DV 1792.33 model has all the advantages of reliable and relatively inexpensive Bulgarian equipment. The Balkankar Record brand loader family includes several dozen machines with different performance characteristics. The BALKANCAR DV 1792.33 version is represented by a single modification with the ability to install additional devices and equipment.

Advantages of the model:

  • English-made diesel engines allow you to perform tasks of increased complexity and provide a long service life;
  • hydrostatic power steering makes operation easier;
  • massive rubber wheels or pneumatic tires improve the vehicle’s cross-country ability and high-torque;
  • simple design allows you to carry out repairs and maintenance of equipment on your own;
  • mobility and compact dimensions make the model suitable for working in confined spaces.

Loader disadvantages:

  • motor noise. Operation of Balkankar DV 1792.33 is carried out mainly in enclosed spaces, therefore the increased noise emanating from the unit can quickly tire the operator;
  • large volumes of harmful emissions. Diesel quickly spoils the air, which is especially noticeable in enclosed spaces. In this case, extreme gas contamination can occur quite quickly, therefore it is not recommended to use the loader without good ventilation.

Repair features

Malfunctions and repairs of Bulgarian forklifts:

  1. The steering wheel rotates with great effort. In this case, it is necessary to check the oil level in the tank, replace the worn pump element and sealing rings, check and clean the lining.
  2. If the steering wheel rotates without force, it means that the failed hydraulic cylinder and pump need to be replaced. If necessary, it is recommended to add oil.
  3. If the safety valve of the distribution device comes off, the valve should be readjusted and worn seals and cuffs replaced.
  4. If any delays occur when lifting the load, it is necessary to carry out an external inspection of the bearings for damage and defects.
  5. If the battery charge is insufficient or too high, you need to adjust the relay and check the integrity of the contacts.

All repair work is carried out on an inspection pit or a special platform and with the power unit turned off.

Engine

The BALKANCAR DV 1792.33 loader is equipped with a 4-stroke Perkins D3900K diesel engine (manufactured in England), which is characterized by increased reliability. The motor is located at the rear of the machine.

Unit features:

  • cylinder block made of monoblock design using gray cast iron. The element has increased strength. The cylinder head is common to the cylinder block. It is again made of gray cast iron by casting;
  • dry type air filter. used to clean air entering the cylinders;
  • Lubrication system. Responsible for lubricating rubbing elements and removing dirt and wear products. The lubrication system is of a combined type: oil is supplied to key rubbing parts under pressure, and to other components by splashing;
  • forced liquid cooling system. It includes a water pump with fan, radiator, pipe connections and cavities for coolant. The system again includes a thermostat to regulate engine temperature;
  • electrical equipment made according to a single-wire circuit.

Characteristics of the Perkins D3900K motor:

Some modifications of the Balkankar DV 1792.33 were equipped with diesel units from other manufacturers (Deutz, Toyota, Minsk), but their number in the total range was insignificant.

The modernized BALKANCAR electric forklifts of the
PILO are a universal lifting vehicle for transporting and stacking palletized cargo in warehouses, at train stations, in ports, at airports, for intra-shop or inter-shop transportation of goods.
Loaders are adapted for operation in a temperate climate zone with an ambient temperature range from -25 C to +40 C. They are manufactured in RUSSIA under license from BALKANCAR and adapted to our conditions.

They are equipped with a simplex lifting device with lifting heights of 2200 mm, 2800 mm, 3300 mm, 4500 mm. Loaders can also be equipped with any attachments (KAUP, CASCADE, BALKANCAR).

Design and operating features

BALKANCAR DV 1792.3 is based on a welded chassis, which is the Bulgarian concern’s own development. The chassis provides strong fastening of units and components, tested using strain gauge testing. This makes the loader suitable for handling heavy loads. The steering axle is a massive one-piece construction with a 2-way piston rod and a hydraulic cylinder. The kinematic diagram is extremely simplified to ensure increased reliability and maneuverability. The chassis uses seals and bearings from trusted manufacturers and is easy to maintain.

The Balkankar DV 1792.33 transmission consists of a hydrodynamic gearbox KhDP 6860.6 with a specialized valve to ensure the creeping motion of the machine during maneuvering, which requires significant precision. again, there is a lock that prevents the engine from starting when reverse or forward is engaged. The gearbox has 2 speeds and reverse. The front wheels, which are the drive wheels, are placed in front of the bridge. Torque is transmitted from the axle to the wheelset at a constant speed, allowing complex maneuvers and low-speed driving. The bridge is connected to the counterweight using hydraulic tilt cylinders. During operation, the fork mast may tilt. The rear wheels are driven.

The main braking system is mounted at the entrance of the bridge. Most modifications are equipped with power-assisted drum brakes, which are activated via a mechanical or hydraulic system. Again, the loader is equipped with a manual parking brake.

The control system and hydraulic system of the loader are equipped with a plunger monoblock hydraulic valve model PX 80 with a pressure of 250 bar. They again include flexible connections for connecting the elements, a suction filter and seals. The hydrostatic servo control is located on the control panel. In the process of lifting the load, the trolley begins to move upward, it rises along the supporting beam, then the movable frame with forks goes up. In the basic modification, the BALKANCAR DV 1792.3 is equipped with short forks, which are not always convenient. Additionally, long forks are used, installed on the factory device. Again with the loader, pushers, roll grips, side grips, buckets, 180 degree grips and offset carriages are used.

The electrical system of the loader is designed for 12 V. The control panel contains a combined ELTEC device that displays hours worked, fuel remaining and coolant temperature.

The operator's workplace has been made extremely simplified. The open-type operator cabin module is installed on a chassis using elastic elements that insulate from noise and vibration. The ergonomics of the workspace are thought out to the smallest detail, so the operator can work without fatigue for a long time. The forklift seat has hydraulic shock absorption, adjustment to the driver's height and a long stroke, which adds comfort. The instrument panel is made as a separate module. The monitor device has digital, pointer and light indication. The short steering column provides ample space around the pedals. This is especially important given the small size of the operator's cab.

Production of BALKANCAR DV 1792.3 ended quite a long time ago, but consumers should not have problems with parts and components, since they are always available. The operator can replace elements in working conditions without contacting specialists.

All lifting devices, including telescopic, two-frame or three-frame mechanisms, are made from steel channels. The chassis has an articulated suspension. Forward and reverse movement is carried out using two hydraulic cylinders. The vertical carriage and moving frame are guided by rollers on needle bearings, increasing efficiency and reducing energy consumption. Lateral loads are taken by adjustable rollers that are built into the drive rollers. The forks are made of high quality steel and have undergone both forging and hardening. Thanks to the thinned front end, it is possible to handle non-palletized loads as well. The standard vertical carriage can be equipped with a variety of hydraulically driven interchangeable work attachments, such as an offset carriage, a gripper or a pusher.
