Reliable, high-performance and easy-to-use Case combines

Case combines are high-quality and easy-to-use self-propelled machines that allow automated harvesting of grains, small seeds, essential oils, legumes and other crops.
The production of these units has been carried out for more than half a century at a plant in the state of Wisconsin in the USA. The Case brand has relied on the quality of the prepared material, which is why the threshing apparatus of these devices is considered one of the most gentle in the world.

Features of Case combines

  • minimized number of movable parts in components and mechanisms;
  • versatility;
  • perfect threshing and low grain loss;
  • single-rotor “Axial Flow” technology, which reduces the resource intensity of agricultural production;
  • maneuverability on fields with complex geometry;
  • non-stop operating cycle even at the moment of unloading the bunker;
  • economical consumption of diesel fuel;
  • preservation of the natural properties of grains;
  • simplicity of design, facilitating repair and maintenance procedures.

Let's consider individual modifications of these combined machines.

Video

The main difference between the Case models is the unique single-rotor Axial-Flow mechanism, which allows harvesting at minimal cost and high productivity. The movement of the mown mass is carried out by the feeder conveyor and rotor blades, which reduces the percentage of damaged grain. During the separation process, the mass is evenly distributed over the sieve and allows you to obtain a clean product.

News here.

Case 2388 is one of the most popular models of the brand. The design of the equipment has undergone many modifications to improve functional characteristics and cleaning technology. The combine is easy to operate and has a high grain feeding speed. Case 2388 is equipped with a no till grinding system, which has no competitors in the quality of distribution and grinding of residues. Most of the solutions used in the combine are patented and are not found in any other agricultural machine.

The presence of a reverse rotor mode and a loading system improved the controllability of the equipment. The grain processing system in Case 2388 has a minimum number of mechanical tools, which has a positive effect on the quality of grain.

The main area of application for Case 2388 combines is harvesting grain crops in large fields. However, the equipment works equally effectively with various crops (cereals, small seeds, row crops) and allows harvesting on slopes, hills, sandy or rocky soil, in dry or wet conditions. The model is intended for use in medium-sized farms.

Case 2388 provides high productivity and comfortable work. In terms of efficiency and quality of the final grain, the combine has no equal among machines of the 8th and 9th classes.

Combine "Case" 2166

A model that is ideally adapted for heavy loads.
It is a self-propelled drum mechanism equipped with a 215 hp diesel engine. Characterized by hydraulic control of working bodies. Advantages:

  • extensive drum chopper;
  • improved design of the header, which ensures not only the flow of stem mass, but also gentle handling of grain;
  • keyboard type straw walker;
  • electronic control of the operation of structural elements - cleaning sieves, reaping unit, grain accumulator load and their humidity;
  • spacious cabin for a combine operator with a large percentage of glazing.

Technical parameters of Case 2166:

  • Power – 215 hp;
  • Cylinder volume – 8.3 l;
  • Bunker – 6.3 t;
  • Fuel tank – 350 l;
  • Productivity – 5 ha/hour.

Device

Let's look at the design of the Niva SK-5 combine harvester. The machine runs on a MMZ-D.260.1 diesel engine, which has a volume of 7.12 liters and is used for various agricultural work. The motor has high power and can operate in difficult terrain conditions. The internal combustion engine is liquid cooled.

The chassis design includes 2 axles. The 3-speed gearbox has 3 shafts and a set of gears. After the gear is engaged, the gear locks the mechanism. When the clutch is released, the clutch disc is released and rotation goes to the gearbox. All Niva models have a V-belt drive.

The torque from the engine is transmitted to the gearbox pulley using a belt. This process is regulated by a variator. The combine is controlled by a hydraulic valve spool, the handle of which is located in the operator’s cabin. When you need to give full speed, the handle is moved forward all the way. When it is necessary to slow down, the handle is pulled back.

High quality upholstery materials are used in the cabin. As a result, sound insulation has become better and the ventilation system has been modernized. On new models you can install air conditioning. The seat is adjustable vertically and horizontally. There are oil pressure gauges, ammeter, drum tachometer, etc.

A control unit for the combine, its components and systems has been installed:

  • drum;
  • corn header;
  • seeder picker;
  • seeder;
  • straw chopper;
  • straw walker;
  • auger;
  • shoes.

The drive axle is controlled hydraulically. There is no direct connection between the steering wheel and the wheels. A system of pipes and power steering takes part in the process; fuel circulates through them, which is supplied by a pump.

The header of the Niva SK-5 combine is one of the main systems of the combine. The machine is used for harvesting corn and other crops. The main components of the header are the following:

  1. The housing on which the working devices are fixed. It is connected to the feeder chamber using hangers and hinges. A telescopic transmission with access to the knives is mounted to this design. The cutting height is adjustable using shoes.
  2. The reel grabs the stems and directs them to the auger. The cutting edge consists of knife plates that move in different directions. This includes friction plates and pressure vanes.
  3. The auger is a cylinder with spiral belts that, when rotated, move the stems into the middle.
  4. Then they are picked up by a finger, which directs everything onto the floating conveyor. An inclined conveyor directs the grain to the thresher.
  5. There are 2 shafts: driving and driven.
  6. Transportation is carried out using chains.
  7. The picker removes the stems and transfers them to the header.

Which models should large farms prefer?

Taking into account the characteristics of high loads and huge areas, Case IH developers offer several models of combines.

All of them ideally meet the needs of modern large agricultural companies in terms of the following parameters: resistance to increased loads, simplicity and accessibility of maintenance, long service life of parts and mechanisms.

Case combine harvesters are reliable agricultural equipment, which is noticeable even in the photo. Let's look at its characteristics in more detail.

Combine Case 8230

Case 8230 is a combine harvester that is designed for constant and high-performance work.

Thanks to the special design of the lattice, there is no loss of productivity, and the quality of processing of the harvested crop remains at a high level.

The rotor for threshing and separation has an elongated shape, ensuring the supply of grain into the chamber.

The engine power reaches a record 510 horsepower, which allows this equipment to perform extensive cleaning work without overheating the motor and moving elements.

The specialized header has a length of 912 cm, which makes it possible to make fewer passes across the cultivated area, thereby reducing fuel consumption and extending engine life.

Hopper capacity 12.3 cubic meters. m ensures sufficiently long operation without unloading.

Despite the high cost, this unit, thanks to simple and affordable maintenance, durability and reliable design, quickly pays for itself.

On average, the price of this model fluctuates around 7.5 million rubles, but it will pay for itself in a minimum period, since the use of the 8230 combine can reduce crop losses, practically reducing them to zero.

Combines Case 5088 and 7088 from the 88 series

These models are classified as universal.
Perfectly suitable for work in large and medium-sized farms. Power ranges from 280 to 340 horsepower, which in tandem with a large grain tank of up to 10,500 liters, complemented by high reliability and improved design, makes this series of combines unique.

The equipment maneuvers well in difficult areas and is easy to maintain thanks to removable guards. The price is also pleasantly surprising: a Case combine can be purchased for around 5 million rubles.
