But six years later there was a new event in the development of the company - the opening of the only supermarket at that time with a self-service system. This became the main impetus for increasing the trading network and expanding potential.
From 1973-79 Leroy Merlin stores literally filled the territory of France. A little later, new centralized services for purchasing goods and computer services for consumers began to be created. At the beginning of the eighties, the holding already had eight stores employing more than 500 people.
The year 1979 left a big mark on the history of the company, since it was at that time that a partnership agreement was concluded with the Auchan company, which, in fact, bought out Leroy Merlin. Thanks to this action, the company was able to develop innovative principles for the functioning of supermarkets, and what is even more significant - this allowed it to gain a leading position in the world market in the sale of products for the garden, home, and construction industry.
In 1989, a branch was successfully opened in Spain. It is worth noting that today there are already 28 stores in the country, and the company is considered a leader in the Spanish consumer market. In 1996, the opening took place in Poland, and at the same moment the company bought out the Bricocenter chain. In Brazil, 2 years later, 11 divisions were opened at once, and in 2003 the holding bought the rights to the Aki and OBI brand and also launched a store in Portugal.
Leroy Merlin underwent the greatest changes in 2004, when it merged with the company Domaxe Achats Services. At this moment, our own product line was launched, which included the following product categories:

In principle, I’m happy with everything! Execution, possibility of the unit, assembly. Unexpectedly, the engine stopped working right away at the first time. This was reflected in shaking at low speeds, and in uneven operation at high speeds. I began to figure out what was going on. First, the candle is working, but there is some BUT. Installed NGK. It became a little better, high speeds became smoother, and the same thing at low speeds. I took out the foam filter, soaked it in gasoline, washed it with ferri, dried it, soaked it in oil, put it in place, and the engine rustled in all modes!!! Idle speed is minimal, there are no attempts to stall! High speeds are smooth and clear! Average speeds have appeared! My opinion is that the filter was treated with some kind of preservative, such as paraffin, and the engine simply did not have enough air. I bought a lawn mower in May, and throughout the summer I mowed 15 acres every other week. My legs were already starting to hurt from running after her. And she, as if nothing had happened, rushes and mows. Sharpened the knife twice. The engine cubic capacity is weak for tall grass. It mows grass 15 centimeters high without any problems; above that, it starts to roll up onto the axis of the knife, I had to slow down, go two or three times, or pick it up with an incomplete grip... I mowed it without collecting the grass, without a bag. Mulches well. Height adjustment with one handle, great. At the lowest position, it sits down (failure in engine operation) because there is no bag, and the mulched grass clogs the entire volume, I had to slightly lift the front wheels and bleed off the excess. In the highest position, it works like hell without any problems. For 15 acres it consumes one and a half tanks of gasoline. It’s a pity that there is no oil sensor; you have to constantly monitor the level so as not to ruin the engine. Although throughout this summer the level has always been stable. Advantages:
There are all the functions you can think of - washing with a hose, throwing grass to the side and back, mulching, collecting mulch. (Usually manufacturers play with options here, sometimes one is missing, then another.) Good engine power.
Flaws:
under the black plastic casing covering the wheel drive belt (it is in the photo of the inverted mower) from below through the hole where the shaft gets a little straw. It needs to be cleaned. My cleaning frequency coincides with the frequency of knife sharpening.
The kit was missing one standard washer, which is placed where the red thumbs are for adjusting the tilt of the handle.
I would also supplement the instructions with the following texts:
* “If the mower does not start after 3-4 tries, check the air filter - it is probably clogged ahead of time.”
* We need clear, intelligible and complete text on how to properly tilt and turn the mower for maintenance so as not to spill oil. The instructions have pictures, but they are unclear and a beginner gets lost. I had to study a specific instance of the engine on the Internet to understand what and how.

Although you know, in fact, setting up a good lawn on your property is also not an easy task, and it takes a lot of effort and money, since it requires regular maintenance. Of course, if your plans do not include growing waist-deep weeds. And of course, the most basic method of care, besides watering, is cutting the grass. And today I want to talk about the Sterwins 460 BTC petrol self-propelled lawn mower, which has been cutting grass on a plot of about 20 acres for several years in a row. I report the dimensions of the mowing area so that it is clear what approximately the amount of work this lawn mower has to do EVERY week from May to September inclusive. This is what she looks like:
It is already pretty well-worn, even minor damage is already present on the case, more precisely on its upper plastic part, it was cracked in one place, but this did not affect the performance, and the place of the crack was simply tightened with a plastic cable tie, there is no use in gluing it, it goes on during operation such a vibration that everything will disperse. It has a very powerful engine (153 cm3) with almost three horsepower (2.74 to be exact) BRIGGS & STRATTON 550 series.

This model is rear-wheel drive, the drive lever is located directly under the hands of the one who will mow (the outermost red handle), under it there is a wide black handle by which they hold the lawn mower and direct it in the right direction, since it is self-propelled and basically drives itself, and under There is another red handle located on it - this is a brake lever, which will have to be used often when mowing a large area, since the grass catcher fills up quite quickly, especially if you mow rarely.
Like all gasoline lawn mowers, this one is heavy. VERY heavy, I can barely move it, mowing it myself is out of the question, it weighs about 30 kilograms, which is more than half my weight. But at the same time, the manufacturer apparently tried to somehow reduce its weight, and therefore not only the body, but also the wheels are plastic. Both the front ones are small and the back ones.
