The rear-wheel drive GAZon NEXT vehicle is equipped with a two-seater cabin and a watch van . Vehicles used to deliver repair, construction, geological exploration and other teams to the site. Moreover, the “object” here should be understood in the broadest sense; it can be an accident site, a construction site, or oil and gas fields remote from populated areas. Unlike others in this type of van, the transportation of people is not only allowed, but is also the essence of its name - “rotation bus”.
Description and device
The bus body has a frame-type structure. The frame is made of bent steel profiles. The outside of the body is sheathed in galvanized steel sheets , painted as standard in green or white. The inside of the frame is lined with hard fiberboard, painted light gray. The space between the outer and inner skins is filled with embedded foam , 40 mm thick. The floor of the van is made of 30 mm thick boards and covered with black autolin.
The van's doors are equipped with automobile-type locks that open from the outside and from the inside. The body has windows on the sides, the middle one on the left side in the direction of travel is sliding. There is a blind window on the front wall of the van. All windows are installed in the opening through rubber seals . The extreme blind windows on both sides of the body additionally serve as emergency exits. The body is equipped with passenger seats, which are fastened with bolted connections through a metal profile.
Air suspension Lawn Next
In passenger cars, air suspension is found only in the premium segment, but in trucks and buses it is found even in the most budget class. This is due to the fact that the truck carries loads greater than its own weight and the suspension must compensate for such large-scale changes. Making spring suspension with adjustable stiffness is extremely difficult and expensive, so air suspension is the only option. The Next City lawn has a very short suspension travel, so the qualities of air springs are especially valuable there.

From September 10 to 14, 2013, the 12th international specialized exhibition of commercial vehicles COMTRANS 2013 was held in Moscow, at which the next new product of the Gorky Automobile Plant from the Next family was presented to the public for the first time. The new development was named GAZon Next (C41R31), it was created with the aim of deservedly replacing the GAZ-3308/3309 models, which were popularly called “Lawn”.

The design of the cabin and interior is borrowed from the GAZelle Next, along with a comfortable seat with five-stage adjustment and heating, an on-board computer, heated mirrors, central locking, electric windows and ergonomic niches for various needs. Differences between the lawn cabin and the Gazelle: the presence of a massive hood made of fiberglass and original lighting equipment, an aluminum body and a hood stopper. Most GAZ lorries were produced with an old metal body, so aluminum can significantly increase the demand for the car. The cabin is equipped with a step to make it more convenient for the driver to enter the cabin. You can separately order a long-range “air” seat when purchasing a car. Although the Lawn was created as a truck for transportation within a city or region, nothing will prevent it from traveling long distances.

The vehicle weighs 8.7 tons, which classifies Lawn Next as a medium-duty truck. The carrying capacity of the machine is 5 tons. The wheelbase volume is 4.5 meters. According to plant representatives, Lawn buyers will enjoy an upgraded front suspension, an updated five-speed gearbox with synchronizers in all gears and an improved semi-integral steering. Soft three-leaf springs, a stabilizer, a joystick for controlling the gearbox and an electronic gas pedal are installed.
The lawn will be equipped with diesel engines. Some configurations will be equipped with a domestic YaMZ-534 engine with a volume of 4.4 liters and a power of 135 horsepower. Most of the new products will be equipped with a foreign-made turbocharged Cummins ISF engine with a volume of 3.8 liters and a power of 152 horsepower. Both engines comply with Euro-4 standards. The brakes of this development are disc. The air and fuel filters are located behind the vehicle's cabin. The steering column is tilt adjustable. Managers do not name specific dates for the start of sales of Lawn Next. This event is expected to take place in the second half of 2014. The new car will have a standard and extended platform. There are also plans to produce a truck weighing up to 12 tons, “to fill the niche that became vacant after the Moscow ZIL automobile plant left it,” Sorokin said, as well as models with a double cab.

Installation of most replacement mechanisms requires a hydraulic system. The main engine of the machine is used to drive the hydraulic pump. There are two options: a hydraulic pump drive from the transfer case and a drive with a device that supports power take-off while driving. The second option is necessary for municipal equipment. Lawn Next dump truck and Lawn Next manipulators, on the contrary, must have a safety device that prevents the hydraulics from being turned on without the vehicle completely stopping.
The Lawn Next Farmer form factor is optimal for use in various services. In public utilities, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, even in apartment moving, it is better to sacrifice one meter of the length of the loading platform and place a two-row cabin there. The Farmer body style is a cargo version of the popular crew cab pickup truck.
The Lawn Next tow truck is manufactured on the basis of the City version with a reduced wheel diameter and loading height. The load capacity of 5 tons allows you to evacuate all types of cars and minibuses. In city services, it is more advisable to use lighter tow trucks for transporting passenger cars, for example, based on the same Gazelle, and call Lawn Next for more complex cases. In this regard, orders for equipment with a crane-manipulator (CMC) are popular. The total machine weight of 5 tons provides the CMU with a lifting capacity of 2 tons with a boom radius of at least 4 m.

Truck tractor Lawn Next
The use of a five-ton truck as a truck tractor now looks quite unusual. Meanwhile, this solution was widely used previously. The same ZIL-130 (which Lawn Next is intended to replace) could tow a semi-trailer with a pre-mounted fifth wheel hitch. Now the Lawn Next truck tractor has been manufactured as a sample accepted for production. The car is waiting for its customers. Manufacturers promised 16 tons of transported cargo and the lowest cost of transportation due to fuel savings.

Engine YaMZ-53441
A truck produced in 2022 and beyond can be equipped with an engine that meets an environmental class of at least Euro 3. The manufacturers of the Lawn Next truck went even further and installed a motor that complies with Euro-4 class. This means it has a catalytic converter, exhaust gas recirculation system, and an electronic control unit to achieve high efficiency.
The transition from Euro 4 to Euro 5 and 6 requires the use of platinum catalysts, short-life particulate filters and fuel additives. It will not be introduced on trucks anytime soon.
In commercial vehicles involved in regular scheduled transportation, the engine covers kilometers very quickly, so the reliability requirements there are completely different than in passenger cars. The Lawn Next car is equipped with a YaMZ-53441 engine. This motor was suitable for the combination of price, reliability and environmental class.
YaMZ-53441 is an in-line four-cylinder diesel engine with an optimized design without unnecessary complications. It uses classic hardware and new software. All components and mechanisms have condition sensors that are connected to the vehicle’s on-board computer. In the specifications this is referred to as an “EOBD system”. The built-in computer diagnostic system makes car repairs much easier.
