PSK plows

The equipment of NPO "SUR" in Engels meets modern requirements and increases the efficiency of use by almost half. It is unpretentious and easy to set up and use, allows you to achieve high quality plowing, is repairable, and also saves fuel up to 9 l/ha.

Thanks to the adjustable tillage depth, PSK plows, coupled with MTZ-82, do not turn out the “infertile” layer. The original working element of the plow turns the soil layer 180˚, throws the top layer of soil with crop residues to the bottom of the furrow, finely crushes the soil layer and breaks the plow sole.

Moldboard and non-mouldboard plowing of the soil

PSK plows are intended for moldboard plowing, but can also be used for loosening and non-moldboard tillage. Productivity is high due to the fact that instead of a field board, which holds a conventional plow in the furrow and takes on the working pressure, the PSK models use a countershare.

The high efficiency of moldboard plowing is determined by reducing the tractive effort on the plow by up to 40% and increasing the working width to 60 cm (per one organ). As a result, with a similar load, the tractor can pull a plow with a significant working width, the number of turns and passes decreases.

Advantages of PSK

Continuing to list the advantages, it is worth mentioning the comparative tests carried out on the fields of the Krasnodar Territory, the PSKu-5 and PLN 5-3.5 plows, installed on the T-150K tractor, when plowing a field of 100 hectares. So the PSKu-5 plow received a high rating and the best reviews. In addition, the prices for this equipment are quite reasonable.

Technical principle of setting and loosening

All PSK plows belong to the category of mounted equipment - that is, to perform work they must be mounted on a tractor. The plow structure includes support wheels, frame and working parts.


PSK plows are mounted on a tractor using a three-point scheme.

The plow frame has a welded structure, the working beam is made of an I-beam with stiffeners located in the longitudinal direction. Additionally, brackets are welded to the beam for fastening the racks of working parts and components. Mounting brackets and fastenings for impellers are welded to the frame. The working body includes such elements as a blade, shares (knives), a shoe, and a stand. The vertical and left knives are equipped with double-sided sharpening. The left vertical shares can be turned over 1800 as they wear out.

When passing the first building, the right side (looking from behind) acts like a most ordinary plow - that is, it cuts the soil with a ploughshare, and then throws it with a moldboard to the right side. At the same time, the left side undermines the soil, then throwing it to the left side under the second building. As a result, the discarded soil is mixed with new soil - that which was cut off by the right plowshare of body number two, and is thrown to the right by the blade. Then the last building prepares the ground for passage under the first building - and the processes are repeated.

As can be seen from the main test results, the design of the PSKu-5 plow made it possible to almost double productivity. This became possible thanks to the processing width increased to 3 meters, which, as a result, made it possible to reduce the number of circles made. In addition, fuel consumption per hectare of cultivation has decreased by almost a third.

PSK-5
plow PSKu-5 plow (pictured) was developed for basic non-mouldboard and moldboard cultivation of soils that are not clogged with stones and other foreign objects, for sowing crops to a depth of up to 300 mm. The equipment can be installed on tractors of traction class 3-4 and used on fields with flat terrain, a slope of up to 8˚ and any type of soil.

The combined working unit of the plow consists of a flat cutter with a ploughshare, with two working blades with a processing width of 600 mm, which allow cutting the soil to a given depth. A blade is installed on the rack of the PSKu plow body to turn over the layers and crush them.

Advantages and disadvantages of the design

Main advantages of PSK:

  1. Maximum productivity is 50-80%.
  2. Relatively low fuel consumption.
  3. Improving microbiological processes in soils in the area of ​​plant root nutrition through thorough mixing of soils and incorporation of crop residues on 2/3 of plowing.
  4. Possibility of using the tool for moldboard and moldboard plowing, loosening to depth.
  5. Since the tractor runs next to the furrow, and not along it, the possibility of oil starvation of the left transmission of the tractor is eliminated.
  6. Extended racks are not prone to clogging with crop residues.
  7. Thanks to high-quality crumbling of soils, the costs of further processing to level them are noticeably reduced.
  8. The collapse furrow is practically invisible during operation, and the fall furrow will be much smaller than that of PLN plows (as a result, the relief is preserved).

The plow “self-centers” well, so the tractor does not pull into the furrow. The service life of moldboards and plowshares is significant, the strength of the plow is high. As for the disadvantages, these include the relatively high cost - there are also much more budget models on sale.

Plow PSK-2


PSK-2
plow The PSK-2 plow with two bodies was developed for plowing soils for sowing various types of crops at a depth of 160-350 mm, in fields not clogged with solid objects with a humidity of up to 30%, as well as for non-moldboard plowing at a depth of about 450 mm. The equipment can work with tractors MTZ-80, MTZ-82, MTZ-1025 and foreign analogues, and is designed for the cultivation of row crops and use in fields with a small area. In addition, the power unit can perform plowing both in the furrow and next to it.

The average daily output when installing a plow with two working units on MTZ-82 is about 6-8 hectares, and with three – up to 12 hectares. Fuel savings are 5-8 liters per hectare. When dismantling dumps, it is possible to use the equipment as a ripper for non-moldboard plowing, and the use of a longer stand prevents the equipment from clogging with crop residues. The performance of the equipment has received good feedback from farmers.

Rules of operation and storage

Before operation, always carefully check the plow and fasteners; if necessary, lubricate the rubbing working surfaces and bearings with grease. The distance between the body and the toes of the skimmer shares should be from 250 mm. The skimmer is fixed by a cylindrical protrusion of the holder, which fits into one of the five holes on the posts (the holes are blind).

The plow is aggregated with those tractors whose mounted system is mounted according to a two-point scheme.

Working in free brace mode is strictly prohibited. When driving the first furrow, make sure that the front body plows the soil to the depth set by the support wheel. The right side of the frame should be slightly higher than the left. When moving, make sure there are no oil leaks from the hydraulic system. The plow is transported only by the tractors with which it is aggregated.

Store equipment under cover in enclosed areas after cleaning (removing grass and debris). Plows can be placed on specially equipped sites, and they are sent for long-term storage a maximum of 10 days after completion of work.

Carry out maintenance when preparing the tool for storage, during its storage or before starting operation.

PSKu-3

PSKu-3 with three working units was created to develop soil for the introduction of various types of crops to a depth of about 150-350 mm, not clogged with stones and other obstacles, and with humidity up to 30%. This model can be installed on DT-75M, HTZ-16131, MTZ-1025, as well as foreign analogues. When using an adapter for installing attachments, it is possible to install it on the MTZ-82, MTZ-89.2 tractors and their modifications. Moreover, the tractor plows not along the furrow, but next to it.

Plow PSKu-6 and PSKu-8

These models are almost similar to the devices described above, with the only difference being that this equipment has six and eight working units, respectively. Otherwise, it is similar to other plows in this series, and the prices for the equipment correspond to the quality of the work performed.

PSKu-5 turns the soil layer 180˚, which no plow has ever done before, and thanks to its high speed, large blocks are crushed, and therefore it is possible to avoid huge clods of earth, both during plowing and dry seasons. In my opinion, the PSKu plow does not just loosen the soil, but complete plowing of the earth with the formation turned over 180˚. The equipment performed just fine.

We purchased two plow models from NPO SUR – PSKu-5 and PSK-6. The very first impressions were positive. The units work great, especially in conjunction with the T-150 tractors. What was especially pleasing was the processing width. During its operation, which is three seasons, not a single serious breakdown was recorded. Having plowed more than 900 hectares, we have never had to change knives.

Previously, we used the PSK-3 in a rice field in conjunction with the MTZ-82, but after heavy rains passed, we decided to install the plow on the MTZ 1221. The plowing depth was about 200 mm and the tractor simply “flyed.” The speed reached 15 km/h, but since the plowing was carried out across the track left by the combines, it was necessary to slow down the speed to 10-12 km/h, and in almost 6 hours it was possible to cultivate about 9 hectares in the rice field. Previously, the same tractor coupled with PLN-4-3.5 processed 7 hectares in 8 hours, that is, now the productivity is 2 hectares/hour. Ideally, it is better to use PSK-4 “Engels” with such a tractor.

We purchased PSKu-8 and did not regret it. Since the vertical ploughshare works 100 mm deeper than the main one, the soil is chiselled quite well. So, in one pass, the soil was tilled to a depth of about 270 mm with accompanying chisel cultivation. And the processing width of 4.7 m was generally pleasing.

The equipment showed excellent performance. And the two working edges of the ploughshare are something incredible. The quality of tillage has significantly improved, and, in addition, tangible fuel savings have become noticeable. We also hope to purchase PSKu-8, which I recommend to other farmers.

Personally, I don’t understand the enthusiastic responses about PSKu. I don’t find anything supernatural or special in these plows, and I didn’t notice any noticeable savings. It seems to me that the advantages of PSKu plows are too exaggerated. On our farm we use PLN plows and are quite pleased with the results. We do not intend to switch to PSK.
