How to make it yourself

In order to equip a UAZ with a dump truck, it is necessary to prepare drawings.

You can lay a square beam under the front side of the car, attach a long cable to it, which needs to be wound around the entire body part. To unload, you need to open the side of the vehicle, pull out the cable and attach it to some support, for example, a tree or pole. After this, you should start the engine and start moving forward. Step-by-step instruction

The hydraulic lift required for upgrading a UAZ-3303 car with your own hands consists of a supporting semi-frame, a subframe, a hydraulic pump, a control valve, an oil tank, a hydraulic cylinder and an oil system.

Remaking the half frame, hydraulic cylinder and subframe

The semi-frame is necessary to fix the body and change its position. It consists of two parts: the first is firmly attached to the frame of the vehicle, the second to the loading platform. Pin hinges connect the elements to each other. In such a design, it is advisable to use I-beams or T-beams.

The top of the semi-frame is reinforced with a crossbar and side protrusions to support the body; only crossbars are installed at the bottom. At the locations of the pin hinges, special holes are made to ensure reliable fixation of the fasteners.

The half-frame base can also be held together by welding and bolting at the bottom.

Sound insulation and interior insulation

For noise insulation and insulation of the interior, you will need approximately 5 m2, that is, 11 sheets of self-adhesive vibration - 50 * 100 cm with thin aluminum, one might say, this is an imitation of foil. Replacement is carried out in the following sequence:

  • drain the oil, hang the axle, chock the wheels;
  • unscrew the caliper responsible for the brake;
  • remove the brake shield;
  • remove the steering wheel ends;
  • remove the kingpins and gel valves from above and below;
  • wash the king pin that was just removed;
  • wash all removed components and inspect them;
  • Lubricate the bushings and compress them;
  • remove chips from the spiral channel;
  • change the semi-axial seals, if necessary;
  • make sure that the kingpin is working;
  • return the oilers and pivot caps to their places;
  • install cords;

  5. The reservoir itself where the substance is contained. It should be noted that the reservoir may have a filter, as well as a dipstick, which will allow you to monitor the oil level in the reservoir.

Operating principle

As for the principle of operation, it consists in moving the spool while rotating the steering wheel. This element moves throughout the system, which helps open the drain tubes. When the pipe opens, the substance under pressure passes into one or another cavity, thereby affecting the piston element, which, in turn, facilitates the rotation of the wheels (the author of the video is the Demian0805 channel).

  • If it is necessary to raise the body, the car owner turns the control valve so that the oil is supplied in one direction.
  • After this, the driver turns on the power to the pump drive.

  • In this process, an important role is played by the valve, which does not allow oil to flow back, so the body does not fall under its own weight.

Power steering on AUZ 469

Hydraulic amplifiers operate from fluid pressure on drive units. The pressure is created by a pump that operates through a belt drive from the engine crankshaft pulley. Hydraulic power steering requires an extended belt and modification of the pulley. Therefore, the old drive belt, fan impeller, and crankshaft pulley must be removed.

The fluid pump is unscrewed and the radiator impeller is secured to the wheel hub. For further operations, you need extended bolts for the power steering and a spacer, which is included in the kit. The long belt is pulled onto the new pulley. The fuel filter bracket is removed. The power steering pump for the UAZ 469 will be installed here. The price of the UAZ hydraulic booster in Moscow ranges from 15 to 40 thousand rubles.

The power steering kit includes a bracket. It must be installed in place of the pump stud. Secure the bracket and pump bar to the locknut. After installing the belt, you should adjust the correct tension. To maintain it, there is a special tension roller used in the design of many cars.

Correct adjustment of the power steering drive belt is carried out as follows. When pressed with a finger, its deflection should be 10-15 mm. The belt should rotate at an angle of 90° relative to the plane of the pulley. The fuel filter is placed in its regular place, in a square hole.

We use nuts, bolts, and a clamp prepared in advance to install the oil reservoir. The tank is connected to the pump using a polymer hose. Transmission oil is poured into the system. Once again, you should check that all parts are installed correctly and you can start the car.

Installation of the pump and reservoir

Any hydraulic booster is driven by fluid pressure. To create it, there is a pump. But it works through a belt drive - from the crankshaft pulley. It is worth noting that there are different belts - for power steering on UAZ and for cars without it. We will need a longer element - for the hydraulic power steering. So, remove the drive belt, fan impeller and crankshaft pulley.

What will we need to buy?

To do this, we need to purchase a power steering column, as well as a pump. The latter will create and maintain the necessary pressure in the control system. The operation of the element is carried out by a drive belt. We will also need a fluid storage tank and connecting hoses. The latter are divided into two types - low and high pressure. The first will drive “return” into the tank, and the second serves to circulate liquid in the system itself. As for the amount of liquid that is used in the system, it is not too much. For UAZ, 1.2 liters of special oil is enough. It differs from motor oil in viscosity and consistency.

Tractor based on UAZ 469 - assembly procedure

An important role in the process of personally assembling a homemade tractor from an existing UAZ SUV is played by the correct sequence of actions of the manufacturer.

The work algorithm should look like this:

  1. First you need to assemble a rectangular vibration-resistant metal frame. Metal pipes with a diameter of 57 mm each are suitable for this. They will play the role of spars and traverse. Parts must be secured by welding;
  2. Next, you need to install the steering column used, which can also be taken from the UAZ in advance. It is best to mount it on the right side - in this case, it will be much easier for the manufacturer to install the steering mechanism assembly with the drive. To install the mechanism, you must first remove the lever and place it on the splines. To assemble a metal rod, the manufacturer will need a working gas-electric welding machine;
  3. Next, you need to equip a homemade UAZ 469 running tractor. First, you will need to correctly install the standard rear axle. To do this, you need to cut a flange on the existing long axle shaft and carefully drill a hole in its very center. The resulting segment will need to be processed and inserted into the hole. The outer part of the workpiece must be scalded and the resulting excess parts must be cut off. After this, you will need to shorten the long stocking you are using. To do this, you can use two short axle shafts. In the area where the standard stocking is cut, you need to carefully remove the chamfer and weld the resulting joint. In the place where the weld is formed, you will need to install a caliper that will reliably protect the factory shank from impact. Next, the assembled frame can be equipped with ready-made UAZ axles, having previously used a prepared V-shaped structure for this purpose. At the same time, it should fit tightly on the standard cushions built into the rear axle;
  4. Then the homemade tractor from the UAZ SUV will need to be equipped with a brake system. To do this, the agricultural machine must be equipped with the existing brake master cylinder from a Russian SUV. In addition to this, you can install a steering gear, a standard linkage and a factory column on your homemade product. To more securely fix the gearbox, you need to prepare in advance a strong crossbar, previously welded into a homemade structure;
  5. After this, the manufacturer can begin assembling the tractor transmission. After installing the motor, you need to install the gearbox and clutch basket. The moving parts of the mechanism must be secured in such a way that during operation they do not interfere with each other’s movement;
  6. Then you can dismantle the old seat from a UAZ SUV and install it on the frame using a spring;
  7. At the end, the UAZ tractor will need to be painted. To do this, metal parts need to be treated with putty. After it dries, you will need to apply 2 layers of paint alternately to the frame and body of the tractor - this will protect the homemade product from corrosion. After the last layer of paint has dried, the UAZ tractor will need to be tested. First you need to test the chassis of the agricultural machine. To do this, you need to drive the unit on a flat road, and then on rough terrain. If at the same time no creaks or other extraneous sounds are heard from the chassis, then you can proceed to testing the homemade product in the garden. A finished UAZ tractor can be equipped with various mounted implements. To do this, you can use a plow, cutters, hillers, potato diggers and a trailer. The main thing is that the weight of the equipment does not exceed the traction characteristics of the engine. Otherwise, the motor will constantly overheat and succumb to increased wear.

Hello everyone! It’s finally happened - I assembled full-fledged hydraulics for the tadpole. Everything is of a classic design: reservoir, pump, hydraulic distributor, cylinder. Everything works great! I'll write everything down in more detail.

1. Pump. Replaced the NSh-10 right rotation www.drive2.ru/l/4517398/. (I’ll get ahead of myself - the pump needs to be changed, because the one loaded with hot oil does not want to unload). It’s comfortable, I can screw on the hoses without any problems. Doesn't interfere with anything. I was most worried that the belt would slip; after all, the pulley on the drive is a B profile. But so far everything is ok. In principle, you can install a short crankshaft-pump belt, then the contact area of ​​the belt will be the floor of the pulley, most likely I will do so.

2. Hydraulic distributor. In the stash there was a tractor hydraulic distributor R-80 with YuMZ-6l.

It has three sections. One for the dump truck, the other two will power the front and rear hydraulic winches (although they don’t exist yet, we’ll come up with them). Initially, I wanted to install the distributor in the cabin, on the tunnel between the gear shift knobs. But he assumed that if something happened, there would be a viper in the cabin in the form of splashed oil. And my ceiling is white...). Then I installed a hydraulic distributor in the tunnel on the cabin side member. To do this, I welded two sections of 20/20 square pipe onto the spar and secured the spreader.

Then I made a cut on top of the cabin and made a power handle from some kind of rod.

3. Tank. I decided earlier on where to mount the tank - on the cab, at the back. After a short search, a 12 liter round tank was found at a scrap metal collection point. I don’t know what unit it comes from. But inside it was a solarium. Didn't wash it much. I cut in a ball valve and welded a fitting for the return line.

4. Lifting cylinder. Initially I was looking for a double-sided cylinder to lift the body. I really wanted a forced lowering of the body. For this purpose, I found (at the same collection point) the working cylinder of the DT-75 blade, and in place with fasteners, which made it easier for me to install it. The cylinder stroke is one meter.

After several fittings (about 15 times), I made fastenings in the subframe and in the base of the body from 100 channels. The cylinder is tilted at 30 degrees.

Hydraulics on UAZ

The idea is simple. Belt from crankshaft pulley to pump. The NSh10 with the entire bracket and pump for the steering wheel is installed on the old MAZ; the new MAZ already has the NSh 32 with a double-groove pulley. Find and place. The profile B belt seems to transmit up to 10 horses. I posted the data somewhere. Well, or if the radiator allows it (on a UAZ it should), resharpen the pulley, put a cardan into the end of it and a pump from it. I did this at my rig, although I also installed a gearbox with a disconnectable clutch for the pump.

My Unimog has a standard hydraulic pump for the hydraulic system, also with a belt drive, the pump already has a relief bearing inside and large-diameter, single-groove pulleys. One more for the helmsman.

I had the opportunity to work for three months as a car mechanic at a UAZ center, during which time I changed the bearings on the transfer case twice, and the bearing on the rear axle drive shank jammed. The reason is simple, long-term driving with the ratchet switches off on the front axle, anyone who knows how the transfer case works on an UAZ will understand. The transfer case is positioned at an angle, the front axle drive shaft is at the very bottom, the oil level in the transfer case is hidden only by the front axle shaft, that is, if the front axle drive gear does not rotate, the oil does not splash and the transfer case is not lubricated. Similarly, when the PTO is operating, the transfer case is not lubricated.

It was also noticed when driving with the ratchets turned off that the spline on the front driveshaft wears out a lot.

At the beginning of the 2000s, the car plant in Ulyanovsk began producing modifications of the on-board vehicle, installing other, modified cabins on its extended chassis, which were supposed to increase comfort for the driver and passengers. Thus, the UAZ-39095 model was created.

Important! The main difference between modification 39095 and the base one was the cabin with a sleeping bag.

Its dimensions were increased, which made it possible to install a folding bunk behind the seats and equip a trunk.

The easiest way is to lay a square beam under the front side of the body and attach a long cable to it, laid along the entire length of the platform. In this case, the truck will be unloaded as follows:

  • When opening the side of the machine, the cable is pulled out and attached to some stable support, for example, a tree or pole.
  • As the car moves forward, the beam moves along the body and pulls the load.

This method, although simple, is far from perfect, since the load may end up in an unstable position.

When constructing a dump truck yourself, a more reliable way is to install the hydraulic system on the platform frame. Despite the fact that some companies offer ready-made kits for lifting the body, you can make such a device yourself.

DIY dump truck UAZ-3303

UAZ-3303 is a small truck with good all-terrain qualities due to the presence of all-wheel drive. It has a frame structure, with a cabin installed on it, under which the engine is located, and two boxes - a transfer case and a gearbox. Behind the cabin there is a cargo hog platform that allows you to transport up to 1200 kg of payload.

This vehicle has become quite popular in agriculture, but its owners complain about the lack of equipment for dump unloading, since the manufacturer of this vehicle does not equip it with such equipment. Owners often do not agree with this decision of the plant and remake the UAZ-3303 with their own hands, creating a dump truck on its basis.

Those owners who have converted their cars indicate a significant increase in functionality and a decrease in the time for unloading the body from cargo.
