Do you want to buy a hammer crusher for grain in Moscow?

How to choose a grain crusher

  1. Design of a grain crusher.
    Most often, manufacturers use two options for grinding grains, legumes and root vegetables.
  2. The rotary chopper
    is highly reliable . The operating principle is based on the movement of the cutting element inside the working chamber. After grinding with a knife, the product passes through a sieve with a certain perforation and ends up in a container.
  3. A hammer crusher
    breaks down the grain that has entered the chamber using hammers that are fixed on the base. The grinding is of higher quality, and the equipment consumes less electricity and is highly productive.
  4. Scope of application
    . The choice of grain crusher depends on the size of the livestock or poultry population.
  5. Many farmers who have a small amount of poultry use manual mechanical mills; there is no point in purchasing expensive high-performance crushers.
  6. If the farm has a pig or a cow, then it makes sense to purchase an inexpensive rotary-type unit. Even with one grinding it will be possible to provide animals with grain for several days.
  7. Farmers should pay attention to hammer units capable of processing 300-400 kg of grain per hour. In this case, it will be possible to save the time it takes to prepare the feed.
  8. Power and performance
    . These two parameters are closely related to each other. Peasants should not chase devices with high power and productivity. It will operate at 10-15% of its capacity, consuming a large amount of electricity. Therefore, a unit with a 1.0-1.5 kW motor will successfully cope with the assigned tasks (100-200 kg of grain per hour). Farms require higher productivity (200-400 kg/h), therefore the electric motor in the equipment must be more powerful (1.5-2.5 kW).
  9. Weight and dimensions.
    The overall dimensions and weight of the grain crusher become important factors when it comes to moving or transporting the device. If there is enough free space on the farm and electricity is supplied to the grinding site, then any stationary model will do. But when you have to grind grain and root crops at different points, you should give preference to light (up to 10 kg) and compact grain crushers.

We have selected 9 of the best grain crushers for review. They are widely represented in the Russian trading network. The rating was compiled taking into account the opinion of the expert community and feedback from peasants and farmers.

Types and features of the device

This device is designed to grind grain crops:

The grain crusher also easily copes with chopping vegetables such as beets, potatoes, and hay. As a result, a complete feed is prepared on its own.

When using equipment, you need to follow some rules so that it works for a long time.

  1. Feed raw materials into the hopper evenly to avoid jamming of the mechanism.
  2. Be sure to turn off the power to the crusher after use.
  3. Start the engine when the hopper is empty to build up speed first. If this is not done, the engine will overload.
  4. Do not allow the mechanism to operate for too long without interruption. Each model has its own period of useful operation, but general recommendations are to stop the device every hour.

Based on the principle of operation, crushers are divided into hammer and rotary crushers. Let's consider the advantages of each of them separately.

Hammer

The operating principle of the device is based on the rotation of a drum inside it, equipped with special hammers. The hammer grain crusher is easy to use thanks to its simple design. It produces high-quality feed with a fine fraction, but cannot chop raw vegetables. The maximum permissible moisture content of raw materials is 15%. Another drawback is noise (due to the lack of additional elements that muffle sounds).

Economical and small-sized, for a small household it will be the best option in terms of price-quality ratio.

Rotary

The unit is larger in size, power, and performance. Hence it is clear that in a small farm it will take on a significant part of the budget. Impact crushers are an element of a large farming business.

Grinds herbs, root vegetables, grain using knives mounted on a rotating rotor. The amount of chopping depends on the speed at which the drum moves: the higher the speed, the finer the feed. The productivity of rotary grain crushers is higher than that of hammer crushers.

A grain crusher is a universal device used for thoroughly grinding small and large grains, which feed both cattle and various domestic animals. That is, for the most part, grain crushers are used in agriculture. After all, a grain crusher significantly saves the farmer’s time and energy, and the food crushed with its help can be mixed with all sorts of additives that improve the diet of pets.

Grain crusher design

Before considering the structure of the device, you should first understand why a grain crusher is needed. This device is used for grinding a variety of feed crops, which allows people involved in agricultural activities to significantly facilitate their own work . Small food is much better absorbed by the pet’s body, thanks to which the animal quickly gains weight and receives all the necessary vitamins and minerals.

The grain grinder has a fairly simple device. The main elements in its structure are a durable body, which additionally acts as a receiving chamber, and cutting parts. For more comfortable transportation, the crusher is equipped with special handles, and modernized devices are even equipped with removable wheels.

Shredder for raw materials with low moisture content – what do you need to know?

Not only does wet grain reduce the productivity of the process, excessively dry material is also not ideal. It promotes dust formation and increases wear on the machine, as friction between parts of the equipment increases significantly. Dust is harmful not only in technical terms, it is harmful to animals and people, as it clogs the respiratory tract. The palatability of the feed deteriorates: saliva does not wet the feed dust well.

Types of units

Any household crusher differs from its industrial counterparts in its rather small size and ease of use. But despite such qualities , each model has high productivity, which allows you to process huge amounts of material in the shortest possible time.

According to their design and operating technology, shredders are divided into several varieties.

  1. The design of the hammer unit involves mounting cutting elements on a rotor rotating inside the receiving chamber.
  2. The rotary shredder is a reliable machine, the working elements of which are made of extremely durable material. The cutting parts hit the walls of the chamber, thus crushing the grain. In this case, the unit works until the grains turn into the smallest feed.
  3. In the design of the disk device, the crushing elements are installed on the shaft using special disks.
  4. A roller grinder is capable of not only crushing, but also grinding grain. The main part of such a unit is the grooved rollers, which really effectively crush wet material. That is, to work with such a device, dry grain must first be moistened.

Among other things , household crushers are divided into certain types depending on the type of drive.

  1. The simplest device is considered to be a manual chopper, which is driven mechanically. In other words, such a machine must be operated manually, so you will still have to spend some time and effort on grinding. Such a machine processes the material into fairly large fractions, which can then be used to feed adult cattle.
  2. A pneumatic chopper is usually used to process corn and other small products. This device works very quickly and turns grain into fine food, which can then be added to the diet of small animals, as well as poultry.
  3. The electric shredder stands out for its high performance and simple design. Such a device has quite impressive dimensions and is usually purchased not only for the home, but also for farmland.

Having become more familiar with the types and differences of crushers, it will be much easier for a beginner in the field of agriculture to choose the right crusher for use at home.

Which chopper is better - rotary or hammer ? This is the question most beginning farmers face. In order to determine the correct answer, it is worth studying in more detail the fundamental differences between both devices.

The impact crusher operates by moving the cutting element. A knife is necessary to grind the material entering the receiving chamber. A grain hammer crusher, in turn, grinds raw materials using hammers fixed on a solid base.

The material obtained after processing with a hammer machine is considered to be of higher quality. A good result is achieved thanks to the high amplitude of movement of the hammers, capable of crushing even those grains that are far from them. However, a rotary shredder consumes much less electricity and has higher productivity.

As you can see, choosing a crusher is quite difficult, since both a rotary and a hammer crusher have both advantages and disadvantages. Therefore, in order to make a final decision and choose a certain type of crusher, it is worth understanding the tasks assigned to the device. For example, if the farm has a lot of adult livestock and poultry, preference should be given to a rotary grain crusher. But for farmers raising small poultry and young livestock for sale, it is better to turn their attention to hammer varieties.

Crushing methods

The crushing device is not complicated. Main structural elements: body and cutting parts. For ease of transportation, the grain crusher can be equipped with handles and removable wheels. Different types of grain crushers differ from each other in the way they crush grain.

The most popular varieties include the following:

  1. Rotary.

  2. Hammer.

  3. Roller

The most common ones on the market are rotary and hammer grain crushers. The quality of work of both types is approximately the same, but the differences in design result in different parameters and characteristics.

The main components that make up the structure of electric grain crushers:

  1. Frame. Can be made of plastic or metal. The grain intended for grinding is poured into the housing.
  2. Work zone. Knives, hammers or rollers are located here, depending on the design of the grain crusher. The grain grinding process takes place here.
  3. Electric motor. Activates elements located in the working area.
  4. The container where the crushed grain goes.

Grain crushers for domestic use are divided into various models depending on the type of drive used. The simplest is a manual chopper, which operates mechanically. A pneumatic grinder does not require much physical effort and produces smaller grain fractions at the output. The main advantage of an electric shredder is its high performance.

Rotary grain crusher

A rotary grain mill grinds grain using moving knives. Sharpened on both sides, the knives are mounted on rotating shafts.

This machine has many advantages:

  • high productivity;
  • low energy costs;
  • small dimensions;
  • reliability during operation.

The parts of the rotary grain crusher are made from materials that have particularly high strength. The rotary chopper is a grain crusher with adjustable grinding. The level and size of the grain depend on the setting of the rotation speed of the shafts with knives. The output is finely ground grain. The downside is that the resulting pieces have different sizes and shapes.

Hammer grain crusher

For better crushing, a grain hammer crusher is used. The design consists of several units: a drum, a sieve and a deck. Grinding occurs when the drum with hammers attached to it rotates. The size of crushed grains is adjusted by choosing gratings with cells of different sizes. Thanks to this, it is possible to obtain the desired dimensions of the final product.

The crushed grain obtained after processing in a hammer machine is considered to be of higher quality than after processing in a rotary machine.

This result is due to the large amplitude of movement of the hammers. They are able to grind all grains, including those located far away. When deciding which grain crusher to choose - rotary or motor, you should take into account that a rotary grinder consumes much less electricity, while having more power. In addition, its productivity is higher than that of a hammer one, and it takes less time to process. The rotary machine has a lower price and is cheaper to maintain.

Both rotary and hammer grain crushers have both advantages and disadvantages. Therefore, which grain crusher to choose can be determined correctly by understanding for what purpose it is going to be used.

If you have large birds and cattle on your farm, a rotary grain crusher is suitable. In the presence of small birds and small or young individuals, the hammerhead will be preferred.

We should not forget that different models of the same type have their own characteristics.

Roller grain crusher

The peculiarity of a roller grain crusher is that it can not only crush grain, but also grind it. This is explained by its design. The main detail is the grooved rollers. As grains pass through them, grinding occurs.

A good result is obtained only after pre-soaking the grain.

A grain roller crusher can process not only grain, but also malt used to make beer. If flat teeth are installed, then not only crushing is carried out, but also flattening. In this case, the grain remains intact, but is cleared of its shell.

The product after processing by a roller grain crusher can be obtained in various types. This depends on the machine settings and the shape of the teeth installed on the rollers. It is possible to set different speeds at which the rollers will rotate. The size of the gap between them is also subject to adjustment. After correctly setting all the parameters, the product can be obtained with the required degree of grinding, suitable for feeding different animals.

Mini grain crushers

Mini grain crushers are widely used on private farms. They save time and significantly solve the problem of feeding pets, even with a small number of them. For a low cost you can get an excellent helper in the household.

Despite the simple design of mini crushers, you should read the instructions for use before use.

Expert advice on choosing a crusher

Every novice farmer should become familiar with several important factors, which, in fact, will help make the right choice of crusher, as well as select a truly powerful and reliable unit. A potential buyer needs to first determine several factors.

  1. The scope of use of the device - for example, for small farms, the best option would be to purchase a factory-made or home-made hammer crusher. A self-assembled structure will cost much less and have sufficient performance for processing a small amount of grain. However, it is worth considering that such a machine simply cannot cope with a large amount of raw materials. It is for this reason that it is best for owners of large farms to acquire a factory-made device that has grinding adjustment and many other useful functions.
  2. Power - this characteristic must meet the maximum demands of the farm. In other words, the power of the selected device should be enough to process the maximum amount of grain that the farm may need.
  3. Productivity - when choosing the right unit, it is very important to decide how much specific raw material will need to be ground to keep pets. Machines with high productivity are perfect for large plots, but machines with an average resource will be a real salvation for small farms.

Having thought carefully about each of these points, even a novice farmer can easily determine what kind of machine he really needs. The right decision will allow you to get the crusher you really need without overpaying for it.

Shredder rating

Nowadays you can find a lot of different crushers on the market, each of which has its own characteristics, advantages and disadvantages. That is why any person working in the agricultural field will certainly be interested in reading the rating of the highest quality devices that can serve their owner for a long time without requiring special maintenance. This review does not include Chinese devices , since they often do not have a high service life and are not able to withstand heavy loads. So, the rating:

  • The fifth position in the ranking was taken by production devices. At a fairly low price, these units are very popular due to their ease of use. The market offers the widest range of shredders with high productivity. As for the minuses, it is worth noting the poor quality of the material of the receiving chambers and the inflated cost of spare parts for the machine;
  • fourth place went to crushers. These shredders have become popular due to their low price and high power. However, the machines of this manufacturer have large dimensions, which significantly complicates their transportation and use in different places;
  • The third place is rightfully occupied by devices of the “Farmer” brand. These shredders are famous for their reliability, good quality and long service life. True, such crushers are often unaffordable for beginning farmers;
  • The second position is occupied by shredders. These devices do not stand out for their high performance, but at the same time they are reliable and can withstand prolonged loads even in extreme conditions;
  • but the first place rightfully went to the famous shredders. This company produces truly high-quality, reliable machines, which are characterized by a significant working life and small size. Such grain crushers make it possible to process literally any type of grain in large quantities.

Grinding the grain means the animals get the most nutritional value. The main purpose of a grain crusher is to grind grain crops for the needs of livestock farming. Crushers are also produced for crushing grass, root crops, meal, wood chips, and sawdust. Grain crushers can have different sizes, weight, and productivity. But according to the principle of operation, there are two types of grain crushers: hammer and rotary.

How does a rotary grain crusher work?

Typically, a rotary grain crusher has a powerful power unit, to the shaft of which a cutting tool is attached. Mostly these are steel knives, sharpened on both sides. This type of crushing has the following advantages:

  • greater productivity
  • reliability
  • pneumatic grain crusher can be realized
  • simple design and maintenance
  • possibility of adjusting the grind size

Of course, the listed advantages are realized when operating conditions are met. Namely, the product must not have impurities in the form of stones, sand, etc., and the product must also be dry.

What are the advantages of the DPM 22 series crusher?

This model has a number of advantages, among which it is worth highlighting the following:

  • - High performance. Using a crusher with a 22-kilowatt motor, up to 3.5 tons of feed products can be processed every hour. Please note that actual performance may differ from stated performance. This indicator depends mainly on the properties of the processed raw materials: humidity, density, composition, etc.
  • – Versatility. The DPM-22 crushers provide the ability to install replaceable sieves, with which you can adjust the fractional composition of the finished product. The perforation diameter in replaceable elements can vary from 3 to 10 mm.
  • – Functionality. If necessary, the crushing mechanism can be dismantled. In this case, the device can be used as a vacuum transporter. The transport distance can be increased by installing longer hoses.

How does a hammer mill work?

The hammer grain crusher has a more complex design. Its task is to obtain as homogeneous a material as possible with minimal dust. It consists of a hammer drum, a deck and a sieve. The raw materials in the drum are subjected to impact by hammers that rotate rapidly. The crushing size of the product is achieved through a sieve with the required cell diameter. A hammer grain crusher works slower than a rotary grain crusher, but has its advantages:

  • better grinding quality
  • lower energy costs
  • pneumatic grain crusher can be realized
  • easy maintenance
  • possibility of adjusting the grind size
  • good performance

The listed advantages are realized when operating conditions are met. They are the same as for a rotary grain crusher. Several factors influence productivity: power, engine speed, mesh diameter and type of crushed raw materials.

Grain crusher – we take into account the main indicators of the device’s operation

The effectiveness of the process depends not only on the physical and mechanical properties of the processed material, but also on other components. These are, for example, the size of the sieve surface, the speed of movement of the hammers, the sizes and configurations of the sieve cells, the shape of the deck surface, and the angle of coverage of the working chamber. The shape of the hammers and the features of the installation scheme are also of great importance. The optimal selection of these characteristics ensures maximum contact of the hammer surface with the crushed material and high productivity.

An indicator of the operation of the device is the time the grain is in the chamber. It takes about 10-15 seconds to grind sufficiently. The remaining time is spent on grinding the mass due to friction of the material against the working parts. This significantly reduces the efficiency of the process.

What is good about a pneumatic grain crusher?

A pneumatic grain crusher can be either rotary or hammer. The advantage is the possibility of pneumatic intake and unloading of raw materials. This eliminates the need for additional transport equipment, which saves money. Since the motor power in this case is used for grinding and pneumatic supply/removal of the product, productivity is somewhat reduced. In any case, the crusher must be made of high quality steel to achieve an ultra-long service life, and the parts are manufactured to high precision standards.

Crusher DPM-22

Impact crushers of the DPM series are widely used in enterprises specializing in the production of animal feed. The units are designed for grinding various types of products: grains, cake, beans, etc. The devices provide high-quality processing of raw materials and allow you to obtain a complete feed with a uniform consistency.

The DMP-22 crushers feature the possibility of pneumatic loading. The supply of raw materials is carried out through a long loading pipeline, the length of which can reach 10 meters. Transportation of products from the loading point to the working area occurs under pressure. This helps prevent clogging of the pipeline and a decrease in its throughput. Accordingly, when using a pneumatic crusher, there is no need to install additional transport mechanisms: for example, screw or scraper conveyors.
