New models - new perspectives
The end of last year was especially fruitful for new excavator equipment.
, part of the RM-Terex structure, at the end of 2022, offered consumers three new models of full-rotary crawler excavators, corresponding to the best world analogues. Two of them – TX270 and TX300 – are completely new heavy-duty machines, previously not represented in the Tver plant’s lineup. The third – TX220 – is a further development of the previous model TX210, which belongs to the most popular class of 20-ton excavators.
The production of excavators weighing from 20 to 30 tons allowed us to expand the model range, complementing the line of wheeled vehicles with tracked models, as well as enter the most capacious and promising segment of earthmoving machines and increase our market share. Crawler excavators weighing 20–30 tons, the most popular on the market, are widely used in various fields: in industrial and civil construction, road construction, oil and gas production, mining of non-metallic materials, construction industry enterprises, demolition of buildings, land reclamation facilities, etc. etc. Crawler excavators of these standard sizes, due to their versatility, are successfully operated at both small and large sites, combining high productivity and cross-country ability.
The launch of mass production of the TX300, TX270 and TX220 excavators was preceded by long-term large-scale tests under real operating conditions at construction sites and in quarries. The new machines have successfully proven themselves in excavation work with soils of categories I–IV, including rocky and frozen soils.
It is important to note that the release of a new series of excavator equipment was not preceded by a comprehensive modernization of the production line. In particular, the method of shot blasting metal was introduced in the welding production, new semi-automatic equipment for welding was introduced, the component dispatch area was reorganized, and the transition to robotic welding of working equipment was made.

Among the most common models, a special place is occupied by the Terex 860 excavator loader . This is an all-wheel drive car with a switchable front axle and larger wheels. This is a classic wheeled tractor of a frame design with comfortable hydrostatic steering and self-adjusting disc brakes on all wheels. It is one of the leaders in sales in Russia, so the technical characteristics will be considered using its example.
Another popular model is the TLB Terex 825 backhoe loader. Since 2012, it has been produced in Russia, at the Tver Excavator Plant. It is a modernized version of model 815. Designed for excavation and loading and unloading work, it works successfully with a variety of attachments.

Technical characteristics will be considered using the example of the Terex 860 model. It has two modifications: the basic SX and Elite, which has a different bucket position, but does not differ in other parameters.
Among the characteristics of the loader, special mention should be made of the relatively high transport speed of 41 km/h. This significantly reduces the time required for transportation. For this reason, all models are equipped with a flashing light as standard. Equipment moves from the parking lot to the construction site and back under its own power during the work shift. The advanced Terex fuel system further reduces operating and transportation costs.

Engine
The vehicles are equipped with an American Perkins diesel engine. This is a powerful 101-horsepower motor that is installed on many Terex models. It provides fairly low fuel consumption - 59.8 hp. / hour Given the large volume of the fuel tank (130 l), the equipment can operate without refueling, which minimizes the likelihood of downtime. The engine allows the vehicle to reach a speed of up to 41 km/h, which allows the vehicle to be driven to the site under its own power, saving on special equipment for transportation.

Chassis
The design is based on a welded frame, which ensures rigidity and safety of the body. The main components and assemblies are installed on the frame. Planetary final drives are used.
The brake system is an independent multi-disc maintenance-free brake of the “wet” type, that is, located in oil baths. The transmission on this model is semi-automatic or fully automatic.
Steering
The Terex 860 SX is equipped with hydrostatic steering. The steering column is adjustable, increasing operator comfort throughout the entire shift. On the column there is a lever for connecting and disconnecting the front axle, which makes it easy to change from four-wheel drive to rear-wheel drive and vice versa. An emergency manual mode is also provided.

Hydraulic system
The hydraulic system is a closed type, equipped with dual gear pumps. The adjustment depends on the load and comes with a division of flows. The pumps pump through themselves up to 160 l/min and provide a pressure of up to 225 bar in the system. Damping valves protect against sudden pressure changes.
An important feature of the system is the use of hydraulic fluid for both the hydraulic and brake systems. This simplifies monitoring and replenishment of the fluid level: it is enough to check only the hydraulic tank.
Operator's cabin
The new comfortable cabin has become a kind of calling card of the latest Terex models. The developers have taken a number of measures to make the driver’s work as easy as possible.

TX300: first time in the heavy class
TX300 is the flagship model in the RM-Terex line. Due to its high technical and operational characteristics, this machine is intended for work in quarries, for large-scale construction, and for use in the oil and gas industry. The excavator operates confidently on rocky and frozen soils of category IV, at temperatures from –40 to +50 °C. Like the “junior” model TX220, the heavy excavator is equipped with an intelligent control system with seven operating modes, “smart boom”, “increased digging force”, “autogas” functions and a hydraulic circuit for connecting active working parts. The arsenal includes all types of replaceable working equipment used on excavators of this class.
The 190 kW YaMZ-536 engine installed on the TX300 provides one of the best power indicators in its class. The excavator is characterized by high operating parameters: bucket volume up to 1.6 m3, digging depth – 7.64 m, digging radius – 11.29 m, unloading height – 7.4 m, digging force – 200 and 180 kN on the bucket and on the handle respectively.
Assuming that the model will be subjected to increased loads and operated far from technical bases, the manufacturer has taken measures to increase reliability and simplify equipment maintenance. The standard equipment of the TX300 includes an automatic centralized lubrication system for all joints of the working equipment and the slewing bearing.
