About company
The Husqvarna company has Swedish roots and is considered the largest and most popular in the world.
The year of foundation is considered to be 1689, when the company began producing weapons for Swedish soldiers. The weapons direction was maintained until 1970, when the company's first lawn mower was born.
Subsequently, the entire weapons production is sold and the company is completely reoriented to the production of walk-behind tractors, lawn mowers, garden tools and other equipment. Now the company occupies a leading position in the garden equipment market, primarily due to the reliability of the devices.

Advantages and disadvantages
Swedish agricultural equipment, according to owner reviews, is distinguished by a number of high performance characteristics. In addition, in comparison with other European equipment on the market, the equipment is sold at an acceptable cost. However, for the most complete picture of such units, it is worth considering all the positive and negative features of the Husqvarna motor cultivator models.
Among the positive characteristics it is worth highlighting the following.
The range of units is presented in a wide variety of devices of varying power and modification, in light of which any consumer will be able to choose equipment that will satisfy his individual needs in terms of solving agricultural problems.
- Thanks to the installation of powerful and productive Robin-Subaru, Husqvarna or Briggs&Stratton engines on walk-behind tractors, the equipment stands out for its durability and minimal risk of breakdowns even during long-term operation.
- Husqvarna cultivators can be equipped with a reverse function. This feature of the model range eliminates situations where agricultural machinery gets stuck in the ground even when working with wet soil.
- The manufacturer has taken care of the ease of use of its units, so most modern models have an ergonomic telescopic removable control handle, which can be removed if necessary. This feature is relevant for transporting and storing cultivators.
- All machines are produced with a gearbox that does not require additional maintenance.
- To protect the operator during soil cultivation tasks, many models additionally have shields on their body that can protect against flying clods of dirt. In addition, they will protect crops from damage by the device.
- The Husqvarna motor-cultivator has small wheels on its body that allow you to transport equipment. There are also units with a carrying handle.
- The configuration of the Swedish technology involves manual starting of the engine, making the device quite easy to get into working condition.
- This technique is distinguished by its high-quality belt clutch. This unit has a long service life and rarely fails. In addition, the mechanism is reliably hidden from the penetration of various types of contaminants from the outside. Due to chain gearboxes, the units are able to move not only forward, but also backward.
- In the basic configuration, motor cultivators contain several cutters; as a rule, a set consists of 2, 4 or 6 parts. In action, these elements can rotate in the direction of movement of the machine or against it.
But the technology is not without its drawbacks.
- Since high-performance machines are distinguished by their power, they also stand out for their impressive dimensions, which significantly limits the circle of people who can operate the units.
- Devices with a chain drive require special conditions of use, since any hard object falling into the cutter can cause damage to the entire chain.

Attachments
Using attachments, you can not only reduce the processing time of your site, but also carry out various work with relative ease.
All Husqvarna equipment uses the following types of equipment:
- Hiller, thanks to which furrows are made in the ground, which are subsequently used for planting seedlings or for watering.
- A potato digger greatly facilitates the harvesting of root crops, separating them intact from the ground.
- The plow is designed for plowing the soil. Its use is especially rational where milling cutters fail or when processing virgin soil.
- The lugs are worn instead of wheels and improve traction with the ground. They are efficient in operation, as they cut into the ground with their blades, moving the walk-behind tractor forward.
- Wheels are included with the walk-behind tractor, but for driving on snowy terrain it is best to use tracks, which are worn instead of wheels and increase the traction area of the machine with the ground.
- The adapters are designed to transform the unit into a mini tractor, in which the operator can work while sitting.
- The cutters are designed for cultivating soil of any complexity. The photo shows how the cutters are assembled
- Mowers. Segmental - represent two rows of pointed teeth that move in a horizontal plane. They are capable of cutting not only grass, but also small shrubs, but they only work on flat areas. Rotary ones operate by three knives that rotate and cut the grass. They can also work on inclined surfaces.
- A snow removal attachment will be useful when you need to remove snow. A cheaper option for a snow blower is a blade shovel. This is a curved sheet of metal placed at an angle. It can rake not only snow, but also other bulk materials.
- Trailers turn the walk-behind tractor into a vehicle and allow you to transport various loads weighing up to 500 kg.
- Weights help add additional weight to the walk-behind tractor when weeding, allowing the operator to apply minimal effort.

Owner reviews
Denis:
“When I read reviews on the forums about Husqvarna TF 338 walk-behind tractors, I came across a comparison that seemed to work like a beast. Now I can say so, it definitely works like a beast. Replaces several people. Now the virgin soil is not scary. It is important to install the cutters correctly. I immediately bought a potato digger, a snow blower and an adapter with a seat. There was no need for lug lugs, the machine itself is heavy and pulls normally. Gasoline consumption increases greatly when I transport heavy loads - 2.5 or even 3 liters can take.”
Anton:
“The Husqvarna walk-behind tractor operates on a plot of 37 acres. Excellent torque, cannot be compared with old gasoline models from other companies. Good build quality and the components themselves. Reasonable price, starts without problems. I haven't noticed any drawbacks yet. There are some nuances: it is inconvenient to fill the oil, it is difficult to find a suitable attachment. I'm looking for a plow for him. Overall I recommend it."
Features of use
In order to prepare the cultivator for work, you must perform the following steps:
- Before starting work, it is necessary to remove from the site all objects that could damage the machine - large stones, glass, wires, etc.
- Conduct a visual inspection of the machine to detect oil or fuel leaks. Make sure that the implements and deflectors are not deformed. If any faults are found, replace with new ones.
- If the machine is equipped with a push-button engine shut-off system, make sure that the cables are intact.
- Do not use the machine without the protective covers or covers provided for your safety.
- Check that all fasteners are secure.
Running in is the key to long-term service of the walk-behind tractor.
At this time, all parts are lubricated and rubbed against each other. It is advisable to carry out all necessary procedures immediately after purchase, as well as after long-term storage.
By adhering to the following actions, you will significantly extend the life of the walk-behind tractor:
- Check the oil level and add if necessary.
- Start the cultivator at low speed and let it run for a few minutes.
- Change gears and check their operation.
- After 4 hours, you can use the machine at half the specified power.
- After 8 hours, you can begin full operation, but first drain the used oil and fill in new oil.
- To work with Husqvarna brand cultivators, manufacturers recommend using gasoline with an octane rating of 92. According to the recommendation of the owners of walk-behind tractors of the presented brand, any oil can be used, but it is advisable to use it from well-known manufacturers, such as (Echo, Husqvarna, Shtil).
User manual
The operating instructions are included with each walk-behind tractor and contain the following standards.
General standards
Before using the tool, familiarize yourself with its operating instructions and controls. When using the unit, the recommendations in this operating manual must be followed. The use of the unit by persons who have not read these instructions and by children is strictly not recommended. It is not recommended to carry out work while there are strangers within a radius of 20 meters from the device. The operator must keep control of the unit during all work. When working with hard types of soil, remain vigilant, as the walk-behind tractor has the least stability compared to already treated soils.
Preparing for work
Examine the area where you will be working and remove any visible objects that are not soil, as they may be thrown away by the working tool. Before using the unit, each time it is worth inspecting the equipment for damage or tool wear. If worn or damaged parts are found, replace them. Inspect the device for fuel or oil leaks. It is not recommended to use the device without casings or protective elements. Check the tightness of the connecting elements.
Operating the device
To start the engine, follow the manufacturer's instructions and ensure that your feet are at a safe distance from the cutters. Stop the engine when the equipment is not in use. Maintain concentration while the unit moves towards you or when changing the direction of rotation. Be careful - the engine and exhaust system become very hot during operation and there is a risk of burns if touched.
In case of suspicious vibration, blockage, difficulties with engaging and disengaging the clutch, collision with a foreign object, or wear of the engine stop cable, it is recommended to stop the engine immediately. Wait until the engine has cooled, disconnect the spark plug wire, inspect the unit and contact a Husqvarna workshop to carry out the necessary repair work. Use the device in daylight or good artificial light.
Maintenance and storage
Stop the engine before cleaning, inspecting, adjusting or servicing equipment or replacing tools. Before replacing accessories, turn off the engine and wear heavy-duty gloves. To ensure safety when using the device, ensure that all bolts and nuts are tightened. To reduce the risk of fire, keep the engine, muffler, and fuel storage area clear of plants, waste oil, and other flammable materials. Allow the engine to cool before storing the unit. When the engine is difficult to start or does not start at all, one of the following problems is possible:
- oxidation of contacts;
- violation of wire insulation;
- water getting into fuel or oil;
- clogged carburetor jets;
- low oil level;
- low fuel quality;
- malfunction of the ignition system (weak spark from the spark plug, dirt on the spark plugs, low compression ratio in the cylinder);
- contamination of the exhaust system with combustion products.
Daily check:
- loosening, breaking of nuts and bolts;
- cleanliness of the air filter (if it is dirty, clean it);
- oil level;
- no oil or gasoline leaks;
- good quality fuel;
- cleanliness of the instrument;
- no unusual vibration or excessive noise.
Change the engine and gearbox oil once a month. Once every three months, clean the air filter. Once every 6 months - clean the fuel filter, change the engine and gearbox oil, clean the spark plug, clean the spark plug cap. Once a year - change the air filter, check the valve clearance, replace the spark plug, clean the fuel filter, clean the combustion chamber, check the fuel circuit.
