Review of the Patriot Ural petrol walk-behind tractor. Specifications, owner reviews, videos

General information

The Patriot brand originally originated in America, and not in Russia, as it might seem at first glance. Later, walk-behind tractors under this brand began to be produced in China. Cheap labor in this country has significantly reduced the cost of the model. But at the same time, production is under the complete control of American specialists. Moreover, the Chinese Ural assembly plant meets all international standards. Many modifications allow you to choose the best option depending on the customer’s needs.

The Patriot Ural walk-behind tractor is considered more expensive than its Russian counterparts. The model range of the American brand is extensive and diverse, and in terms of reliability, Patriot products are in many ways superior to domestic models, which is an undeniable competitive advantage. The Patriot Ural technology has existed in Russia for quite a long time, and is among the most popular.

Types of attachments

For its walk-behind tractors, the Patriot company has developed a number of attachments that save the owner’s time and effort. Photos of some devices can be seen below; the most popular models are also presented below:

  • The lugs are designed to provide improved traction to the ground during plowing, hilling and cultivation;

Grousers Wheels Single-row hiller

  • Hillers of various types are used for making furrows for planting;
  • A potato digger is used to make harvesting potatoes easier. The device lifts the tubers and separates them from the ground;
  • Mowers are either rotary or segmental. Used for mowing grass and grain crops. After mowing, the grass is laid in rows, which are then easy to collect;

  • A cart or trailer is designed to transport goods;
  • The adapter is used to facilitate the process of working on a walk-behind tractor;
  • The snowmobile attachment is not installed on all walk-behind tractors, but thanks to it, the cross-country ability of the unit is increased and work is made easier;
  • A snow blower or snow thrower allows you to effectively clear the area of snow;
  • The hitch is used to connect additional equipment;

Adapter for walk-behind tractor

  • A water pump is used to supply water to the area;
  • The blade shovel is designed for removing snow, soil, and bulk materials;
  • The plow makes plowing virgin soil easier.

Purpose and design features

Patriot Ural is a durable device designed for processing soil of any complexity. The equipment is also suitable for transporting goods over short distances. The reinforced frame provides superior off-road capabilities. In addition to the frame, the design of the device may include additional attachments.

  • The reinforced frame can serve as a handle for convenient movement of the walk-behind tractor. The frame also protects the motor in the event of a rollover. The main frame has several holes to which a “hitch” is attached, driven by a drive pulley. This equipment has the ability to bend in order to protect it from scratches and other external influences.
  • Additional frame - located under the bottom of the engine compartment. By design, this is a simple technical addition, but it plays a very important role in terms of increasing functionality. The frame is so strong that it will support various containers and boxes, and at the same time protect the motor from collisions and shocks. For greater reliability, an additional frame is attached to the main frame and control handle.
  • The walk-behind tractor is equipped with a three-speed gearbox and a belt clutch. The gearbox is made in a cast iron housing, which is very resistant to increased loads. Also, the cast iron construction avoids various leaks. The gearbox is convenient to operate due to the fact that its lever is located towards the operator.
  • If necessary, you can remove the fenders and mudguards that trap clods of earth.
  • The list of equipment includes a powerful headlight with effective lighting regardless of the time of day.
  • Cross-country ability is improved by pneumatic wheels. Their impressive dimensions give confidence when overcoming bumps, bumps and other off-road elements.
  • The design of the device includes a separate lubrication system. This means that there is no need to mix fuel and oil when filling. In addition, this system increases torque. The basic version of the walk-behind tractor includes tillage cutters, an S-shaped coulter, a bracket, discs and pneumatic wheels.

Equipment, maintenance and operation

The factory package includes: the Patriot Ural walk-behind tractor itself, a set of cutters, a towbar, a coulter, a spark plug wrench, two wings and two pneumatic wheels, as well as an instruction manual.

The manufacturer recommends adhering to the maintenance standards specified in the instructions and using only those brands of oils and types of fuel that are indicated for this model of walk-behind tractor.

To fill the gearbox oil in the Patriot Ural walk-behind tractor, you can use HYPOID gear oil.

For the engine, it is recommended to use 4-stroke semi-synthetic EXPERT SAE 10W-40, or SPECIFIC SAE 5W-30, as well as SUPREME HD SAE30 - mineral oil for 4-stroke engines.

Gasoline for refueling the engine: grade AI92. Low-quality fuel impairs the performance of the unit, quickly clogs the fuel filter and accelerates wear of leading parts, including the engine.

4-stroke semi-synthetic oil SPECIFIC 4-stroke semi-synthetic oil EXPERT 4-stroke mineral oil SUPREME Transmission oil HYPOID

According to the operating instructions, changing the oil on the Patriot Ural walk-behind tractor should be done:

  • 5 hours after the first start;
  • once a season, or after 20-50 working hours.

Fuel can only be added to the tank after the engine has cooled down.

Before work, you need to warm up the engine, then select a speed mode, press the clutch and, holding it, move off.

It is recommended to engage reverse gear on all Patriot line walk-behind tractors only for turning the walk-behind tractor in place.

During scheduled technical inspections the following is performed:

  • replacing or cleaning the fuel filter;
  • cleaning external elements from dirt;
  • checking the spark plug (cleaning or replacing, adjusting the gap) - every 25 hours of operation;
  • Check drive belts or replace if worn.

Engine

Patriot Ural is offered with a single 4-stroke engine. The engine, called Patriot Garden, has a good margin of safety, despite the fact that it is assembled in China.

The engine supports 92 gasoline and does not require additional lubrication. Patriot Garden has a displacement of 220 cubic meters and a power of 7.8 horsepower. The unit is single-cylinder, with a tank capacity of 3.6 liters.

Distinctive features

Let's take a closer look at the functional features and parameters of the Ural:

  1. chain gear (made of cast iron, manufactured by casting; the presence of such a gear prevents oil from leaking through the solder seam);
  2. a reinforced frame that gives the Patriot walk-behind tractor stability and stability during operation (thanks to this frame design, the device does not fall to the side when passing through soil);
  3. moderate weight - the walk-behind tractor can be classified as a medium-heavy walk-behind tractor, its weight is 78 kg;
  4. stable pneumatic wheels, giving the unit additional support area and raising the walk-behind tractor above the rows. Wheel diameter 48cm, width 17cm;
  5. three-strand pulley for transferring the belt and connecting a snow blower or mower;
  6. gearbox allowing operation in 4 forward and 2 reverse gears;
  7. the presence of mud flaps - guaranteed protection from dirt and snow flying out from under the wheels;
  8. special design of cutters - the knives are designed so as to smoothly sink into the ground (the angle of inclination of the cutters is sharp in relation to the axis of the walk-behind tractor).

Please note that the reinforced frame allows you to move the walk-behind tractor when assembled.

It strengthens the structure of the device as a whole, gives the unit stability, due to which it can move more smoothly.

It can also be moved from place to place or transported in assembled trucks.

The reinforced walk-behind tractor frame protects the main elements of the device - the gas tank, muffler and air filter - from external damage and paint chips.

The cross-country ability of the walk-behind tractor is also enhanced thanks to its wide, large wheels.

If necessary, you can use weights, for example, when working dense soils or hard ground in the spring.

The cast form of the Patriot gearbox extends its service life, and the fit of the bearings minimizes the appearance of oil production.

There are no gaskets or seams in the gearbox, therefore, oil loss during operation of the walk-behind tractor is excluded.

Prices in Russia

New and used copies of the Ural Patriot are widely distributed on the domestic market. The average price of a new car is 28 thousand rubles for the basic configuration. The most equipped version will cost about 33 thousand rubles. On the secondary market you can find a walk-behind tractor with attached equipment and in good condition. This option will cost between 20-25 thousand rubles.

Among the most striking analogues of the Patriot Ural walk-behind tractor are the models Sich MB-8, Ugra NMB-1N1 Kaluga, as well as Tselina MB-801 and Daewoo Dat M 80110.

Owner reviews

  • Alexander, St. Petersburg. I've been using it for three years, no problems. I actively use it for plowing and hilling. The model is powerful enough for my needs. Good maneuverability is ensured by reverse, and it is also more convenient to work with in difficult areas. I bought a mower and hiller, the functionality has increased several times. Average fuel consumption is around 2 liters per hour, at maximum load it reaches 3 liters.
  • Alexey, Krasnodar region. Patriot Ural is a very good walk-behind tractor, but not without sin. It has a well-thought-out design, and at the same time, noticeable flaws. For example, I almost immediately noticed play in the control handle. The frame is welded unevenly, and besides, poor fastenings spoil the impression. Well done Chinese, they found something to save on. Despite the assembly flaws, the equipment drives and works normally. Consumes no more than 2 liters per hour.
  • Pavel, Stavropol region. It’s a good walk-behind tractor; it will come in handy for plowing and harvesting. I have 20 acres, but the Urals have plenty of potential. I'm still happy with the car, after a year of intensive use.
  • David, Yaroslavl. I love the American auto industry, including the Dodge Nitro itself. Patriot Ural is as reliable as my SUV. I bought an additional trailer, hiller and plow for it.
  • Dmitry, Kaliningrad. My Patriot is much better than its Russian counterparts. It not only has an attractive design, but also high performance. The machine is very beautiful, and the power is quite satisfactory - a medium-power walk-behind tractor is enough for me. I didn’t even consider diesel options, since in Russia there are problems with the quality of this fuel. Over the past two years of use, the equipment has shown itself to be great. I replaced the clutch disc without having to call a technician. I will even say that this walk-behind tractor is like a construction set - it is easy to assemble and disassemble. It must be admitted that the Patriot Ural is noticeably more expensive than Chinese cars, although it is assembled in China, but using American technology. But I don’t pay attention to the assembly location; for me the main thing is functionality and reliability.
  • Yuri, St. Petersburg. Overall I liked the walk-behind tractor, with the exception of some quibbles. For example, I would like to note that spare parts are quite expensive compared to their Chinese and Russian counterparts. But at the same time, the walk-behind tractor is famous for its greater endurance. After three years of operation, the clutch began to work every now and then - it turned out that this was due to a jammed handle. Otherwise, everything is normal, consumption is at the level of 2-2.5 liters.
