Sergei Galkin, mentor of the Children's Farmer's School of the Pokrov shelter, tells us what agricultural equipment one cannot do without for productive production.
When it comes to agriculture, about peasant labor, expressions are used - to plow from dawn to dusk, to work until you sweat. It is not surprising that young people are not eager to get involved in agricultural production. After all, their urban peers work in comfortable offices with climate control systems and comfortable chairs. And here you work from dawn to dusk, waist-deep in manure from below, waist-deep in fuel oil from above.
It is modern technology that can equalize working conditions and provide opportunities for good earnings without compromising health. For this we need:
Forage harvesters (field choppers)
The name speaks for itself - they remove different feeds, have different functions and different performance. They can mow and chop traditional clovers and alfalfa, and can mow and chop high-yielding tall crops - corn, sweet sorghum, amaranth. They can pick up green mass from an already mown windrow.
There are trailed combines that are not inferior in functionality to self-propelled ones, but are designed for small areas and are capable of sending the crushed mass to a transport cart attached in a train. And there are true “monsters” - they produce up to 1 thousand tons of chopped green mass per hour. Just think about it! That's ten railway cars!

Homemade tractor made from a Soviet car Moskvich 412
Hi all !!! Today I want to talk about how one of the villagers made his own tractor from a Muscovite. It’s hard in the village without an iron helper, and he decided to try to make a tractor; fortunately, in his yard there was a rusty Muscovite from which he took all the spare parts. He installed the box from a UAZ 452 and connected the engine from a Muscovite through a 16 mm adapter plate. The front axle was welded from a channel, the ball and hubs were from a Muscovite 412, the rear axle was also shortened from a 412 MTZ, the power steering was Don, the cylinder was from an agricultural machinery, the pump was from a ZIL 130, the panel was from a Muscovite, the rear wheels were MTZ 82 outer disk. Fuel consumption is 4.5 liters per 10 acres. This is the kind of gasoline tractor that a villager got, the main thing is that his hands grow from where they need to grow.

Mowers
Mowers are a traditional thing; they existed even during the reign of the Tsar Pea, and were horse-drawn. Of course, modern mowers are no match for them. The mows start with a grapple - just over a meter for small farms, and end with nine meters, with a productivity of up to 15 hectares/hour. There are self-propelled ones, there are mounted ones, and there are trailed ones. You can combine one, or two or three mowers with a tractor. Such a triplex, with a reach of up to nine meters, is not inferior in performance to self-propelled vehicles.
There are finger mowers for delicate crops, and there are disc mowers - they are more productive. They can mow in a spread, or in a windrow, and triplexes can be used in one or three windrows.
The main difference between modern mowers is the presence of conditioners, which can significantly reduce the drying time of the grass. For tender, legume herbs - finger, for tougher herbs - roller.
Catalog of agricultural machinery
Today, the agro-industrial complex, thanks to the use of new agricultural machinery, has begun to develop rapidly. More and more high-tech developments are being introduced to help farmers and agricultural producers expand and qualitatively improve this industry. State support is increasing. Agricultural machinery is annually replenished with new models, and combined units appear that allow several operations to be performed simultaneously.
Information technology is also keeping pace with the agro-industrial complex, so our “Agricultural Technician” catalog is designed specifically to guide agricultural entities in the variety of agricultural machinery, equipment intended for harvesting, cultivating land, and sowing seeds.
Our agricultural machinery is represented by the most advanced models. To help each farmer, a detailed description with photographs, videos and detailed technical specifications is given. In the sections of the catalog you can familiarize yourself with various equipment and types of agricultural machinery for agribusiness and agricultural use.
Agricultural machinery is a wide range of technical means that are designed to increase labor productivity in agriculture through mechanization and automation of individual operations or technological processes.
In each section of the catalog of agricultural machinery, for each name of a sample of agricultural machinery there is a description of how this equipment is best used, what additional features and advantages this or that model has. Video reviews of tests of a specific sample clearly demonstrate the equipment in action. All models from the catalog of agricultural machinery are accompanied by photos of their appearance, which makes it very easy to select a specific modification.
In order to find a specific equipment or model, just enter a query in the “search” line. Also, all samples are divided into categories on the website, which makes it easier to familiarize yourself with the different types and modifications of a certain type of agricultural equipment. Thus, in the “Reapers” category information is collected about the windrower and stripper, in the “Plows” section there is subsoilers and a chisel plow.
Our catalog “Agricultural Equipment” is a website for farmers and agribusiness entities. Convenient navigation and a wide range of agricultural machinery and equipment make the catalog an indispensable assistant when choosing the necessary agricultural machinery.

Transport trailers
Actually, it’s not for nothing that trailers for transporting green mass are called wagons. Their volumes are 50, 70, and already 100 m³ - literally an entire railway car. And they move along the roads at quite automobile speeds - up to 60 km/h. Such trailers can not only be loaded by forage harvesters, but on the agricultural machinery market there are plenty of models that can independently pick up the green stuff from the windrow, independently chop and press it when loading, and unload it independently.
Engine for homemade
From the point of view of thrust-to-weight ratio, weight, availability and low cost of repair, it would be most logical when manufacturing a tractor at home to take an engine from classic VAZ car models, from 2101 to 2107, or install it from a motorcycle. They can be found in good condition for the price of scrap metal. If you're lucky, one car can become a donor for most of the parts for a mini-tractor. Or you can equip it with a new Chinese diesel engine.
The motor, clutch and gearbox are secured as a single unit, which simplifies the work on a homemade tractor and saves the creator from many difficulties. Be sure to install a fan impeller on the shaft of the water pump (“pump”), even if it was not there. After all, the speed of agricultural machinery is much lower than that of a car, so the operating mode of the mini-tractor motor is the same as when standing in a traffic jam. And this is considered heavy for any engine. Consequently, the radiator of the cooling system of a homemade tractor requires forced airflow.
Balers, round and square balers
By pressing hay or haylage, balers reduce the need for transport and loading and unloading equipment when transporting feed by 3–5 times.
All modern pick-ups are capable of independently picking up grass or straw from a windrow, crushing it and pressing it into rolls or bales of various sizes. There are balers with adjustable sizes of bales and rolls, that is, the sizes can be adjusted to the size of vehicles.
There is a unique baler that produces huge bales, which is convenient for logistics. But at the point of use, you can cut one of the two twines that tie a huge bale, and it breaks up into small bales that are quite suitable for moving by hand.
Masterpieces of homemade equipment for your personal backyard
And if mini-equipment is made with your own hands for your personal yard and with soul, then the work proceeds twice as fast. In any case, I would like it to be so. He built a mini-excavator and dug up the entire field, built a dumper and transported the soil. But this, as you know, depends on the hands that made it. Let's see what masterpieces of homemade equipment for a personal farmstead can be made by craftsmen!

So, the first photo of homemade equipment. We talked about the thought... Forget it! Here she apparently left the master. To work on such a homemade mini-bulldozer, apparently, you need to jump into it with a running start. And calculate it so as to fit into the window. And if you are more than one meter tall, then you are not destined to ride this masterpiece!

Here's a homemade dumper. How do you like this option? The operator's seat is in place and the loading hopper is good. And a do-it-yourself dumper costs much less.

Here the issue of snow removal is resolved much more prosaically. The snow needs to be crushed. The most important thing in this process is to shout: “Spring, come, melt the snow!”
