There are several series, each of which contains several models, so you can choose the best unit option for yourself.

Model John Deere W650

If you need a productive and easy-to-maintain unit, pay attention to the John Deere W650 combine. It has high load capacity and performance, while being economical and environmentally friendly. It can be used to process various crops in a variety of conditions. The spacious Deluxe cab will make the operator's work as comfortable as possible. The Solutions system has been introduced for quick harvesting. The John Deere 942 combine, which has minor differences from the presented model, is no less productive.

Cabin overview

Traditionally, for John Deere combines, the cab has two seats with air suspension and its own adjustments; the system tells the operator the optimal speed of the combine, taking into account the load on the engine and threshing systems at a particular time. A satellite navigation system helps the combine operator process areas with an accuracy of up to 5 centimeters. The Greenstar system can calculate the yield from a given unit of area in real time, control dustiness, humidity and other parameters of the harvested crop.

Features of the John Deere 9500 combine

The productive John Deere 9500 combine is constructed of a drum and beater, equipped with a separation grid. The presented John Deere combine has the following technical characteristics:

  • It is possible to copy the landscape relief with the development of ContourMaster.
  • To prevent the equipment from turning over on a slope, the Hillmaster leveling function is used.
  • An electronic control system InfoTrak with a monitor has been introduced.
  • Auto-tuning corrects the center of the AME.
  • There is a QuadraFlo cleaning system.
  • Operators can feel comfortable in the cab thanks to the comfortable seating and TechCenter technology.

This John Deere combine can be used to harvest wheat, corn, soybeans and sunflowers. Self-produced motors have a high degree of wear resistance, which, in combination with a large grain bin and extended straw walker keys, gives maximum results. The central location of the cabin makes external noise and vibration almost imperceptible to users. In addition, the electronics allow you to accurately monitor all manipulations and immediately respond to any changes or failures. Spare parts for the John Deere combine are in the middle price category. Also in demand in this series is the John Deere 9510 combine harvester model.

Combine harvester (John Deere 9000 WTS)

Production has been discontinued.

Designed for grain harvesting. The combine is made according to the classical design. A long feeder with a floating conveyor of increased productivity allows you to work on high-yielding crops. A threshing apparatus with a ten-beat drum with a diameter of 660 mm (speed range 240-510/475-1030 rpm) and with a concave of increased length increases the productivity of the combine and reduces under-grinding and crushing of grain.

Combine harvesters of the 9000 WTS series are equipped with a chord concave, 9000 iWTS can be equipped with three types of concave: short-lattice universal concave (used for threshing grains, legumes and oilseeds, etc.); full-slat concave with small cells (used for threshing wheat, rye, barley, etc., and also ideally threshes rapeseed); full-lattice universal concave with wide cells (used for threshing corn, sunflower and leguminous crops). The breaker with a lattice concave produces additional final grinding of the crop. Straw walkers with multi-stage keys and increased length intensively fluff up the coarse heap and release the remaining grain. When harvesting in difficult wet conditions, combines can be additionally equipped with straw walkers with removable grates. In order for the grain to stand out more intensively from the coarse heap, a drum finger agitator (WTS system) is installed above the straw walker on combines, which additionally fluffs up the coarse heap and distributes it across the entire width of the straw walker.

The efficiency of cleaning the grain heap of 9000iWTS series combines has been increased through the use of the new Quadra-FloPlus cleaning system, which includes: transport augers; louvered pre-cleaning sieves; coarse louvered sieves; louvered fine screens; Dual-Flo fan. A fan with four centrifugal rotors allows you to create a uniform high-speed air flow across the entire cleaning width, which improves separation conditions on louvered pre- and fine-cleaning screens, while chaff is blown out on transport augers.

The combines are equipped with a closing hopper with a high-performance unloading device and a volumetric hydraulic drive of the running system. Transporting and unloading devices have an original design. The non-grain part after the straw walker is evenly fed to the chopper or windrow former, depending on the needs of the farm. The straw chopper on combines can be of three types: a chopper with knives with a smooth blade for low-yield and dry crops; chopper with serrated blades for high-yielding and clogged crops; The Premium chopper is recommended for use when harvesting tall grain crops, when the combine operates with a header with a working width of 9.15 m and ensures high-quality chopping and uniform spreading over the entire cutting width.

The inclined chamber has 6 adjustments, both in the transverse and longitudinal directions, which ensures maximum adaptability to the state of the crop and the topography of the field. You can also adjust the angle of attack of the header, which allows you to more efficiently combine sunken grain and low-growing crops, with minimal wear on the bottom of the header. This adjustment ensures that the bottom of the header is parallel to the field when installing tires/wheels with non-standard dimensions, or when reducing tire pressure to increase traction with the soil. Thus, the maximum productivity of the combine is achieved and the possibility of grabbing soil is practically eliminated, even on uneven fields.

The electro-hydraulic automatic system for following the field terrain "Hedertruck" ensures work with equally high productivity on uneven fields, fields with a slope, when working at night, as well as when harvesting fallen grain. Information about the operation of the system and the state of the field topography is displayed on a special monitor.

The width of the feeder chamber in WTS combines is equal to the width of the thresher, so there is no need to install additional receiving beaters required for uniform distribution of the grain mass across the width of the thresher when the mass passes from the feeder chamber to the thresher. The increased length of the feeder chamber provides the operator with a good view of the work area of the header.

No tools are required to install/disconnect the header; The hydraulic lines and electrical wires of the header are assembled in a single breakaway coupling. There is also an additional device for simultaneous control of the header mounting lock.

Threshing and separating device. The large diameter drum – 660 mm, with 10 whips, having a high rotational inertia, ensures threshing of a large amount of material already at the initial stage. Since the feeder chamber is located at an obtuse angle to the threshing drum, grain damage is minimized. Since the drum is the same width as the feeder, the entire length of the threshing drum is used.

The threshing and separating device is highly versatile and, in combination with a universal concave, can thresh grains, legumes, small-seeded crops, as well as sunflower and corn. Three rows of liners allow you to control the volume of incoming material to the straw walker and sieve mill. Adjustable dehorning plates for optimal desexing are included as standard on delivery. The automatic adjustment system of the combine allows you to automatically change the parameters of the MSU when changing crops.

Straw walker. The straw walker keys have 11 steps. Three special steps capture the material and slowly move it away from the concave, allowing the grain to pass through the dense straw layer. The universal straw walker key grids have a 15% larger open area. They provide optimal material separation and have a self-cleaning effect.

A drum-type finger separator “Power Separator” is installed above the straw walker, which provides additional separation. The layer of material is flattened and accelerated with the help of the separator fingers, the released grain passes through the cracks between the thinned layer of material and enters the sieve mill. Three special steps behind the finger separator provide additional separation. A sensor above the straw walker warns of the occurrence of mass jams. Sensors are also installed at the ends of the straw walker keys, ensuring the most optimal operating mode.

Cleaning. Structurally, the cleaning system consists of transporting screws, a pre-cleaner, fine and coarse cleaning sieves, and rotary fans. Wear-resistant conveyor screws evenly feed the material onto the screen frame. The high efficiency of augers is especially noticeable when harvesting wet crops, as well as when working on slopes.

The pre-cleaner removes 25% of the thrashings. About a third of the grain after pre-cleaning goes directly into the clean grain auger, which reduces the volume of grain and threshings passing through the sieve mill. The laser system for monitoring the volume of unthreshed grain provides the transmission of accurate information that is necessary for the correct adjustment of the cleaning system components.

The screen mill on the left and right edges is equipped with screens with elongated rods, due to which, with a transverse slope of up to 7-9 degrees, the accumulated multi-layer heap of threshing is returned for additional threshing, without increasing losses.

Grain bin. The hopper of the WTS series combines is equipped with a double-leaf lid that prevents moisture from entering. On a number of models it is possible to install a special extension that increases the useful volume of the grain bin. The hopper lid is opened from the control panel in the cabin. You can take a grain sample from the bunker directly from the cabin platform.

The unloading auger is available in 2 options: 5.20 and 6.10 m, depending on the selected header width. When unloading on the go, it is possible to increase engine power by 34 hp, which allows simultaneous combining and threshing. Unloading grain is possible in any position of the unloading auger.

Straw chopper. The straw can either be placed in windrows or chopped and distributed throughout the field. There is a modification of the straw chopper with an integrated chaff spreader. In this case, the chaff is scattered with the general flow of chopped straw or thrown to the side. Straw is spread evenly over a width of up to 9.15 m, which is especially important with minimal and zero tillage technology. Three speed ranges of the straw chopper allow you to choose the optimal speed for working with grain crops, corn and other crops. For coarse chopping you can use regular or fixed knives, for fine chopping you can use serrated knives.

Electromechanical adjustment of the reflector blades is possible directly from the cabin, allowing adjustment taking into account the strength and direction of the wind and the terrain, especially when working on slopes.

Cabin. An automatic control system for air temperature in the cabin is included in the standard equipment of the combine. Excellent visibility of the working area – glazing area of 5.2 m². The controls are arranged in a logical sequence. Four separate displays with control buttons are located on the right vertical pillar of the cab. John Deere combines are easier to operate because they do not have complex hierarchical menu systems.

Headers and adapters. WTS series combines are equipped with rigid and floating auger and draper grain headers, corn adapters and roller pick-ups.

Complete set/additional equipment. WTS series combines have a lockable compartment for tool boxes (under the side wall, on the left along the path of the combine). Combines are equipped, depending on specific operating conditions and customer wishes, with different types of concave, straw choppers, kits for retrofitting the combine for corn harvesting and other types of equipment. John Deere also offers a wide selection of tire sizes and brands, such as Bridgestone/Firestone tires.

Steep modification of the combine. The Hillmaster II system , consisting of pendulum wheel drive gears and 2 heavy-duty hydraulic cylinders, holds the combine in a horizontal plane with a lateral tilt of up to 15 degrees. In this way, the mass is leveled not only at the cleaning stage, but also at threshing and separation, which greatly increases the productivity of the combine and reduces total losses to a minimum. Hillmaster II also allows you to fill the grain tank completely.

Combined with the SlopeMaster system, which provides reliable cleaning on slopes up to 7 degrees, the Hillmaster II system allows the combine to work on slopes up to 22 degrees with the same quality as on level ground.

Computer crop monitoring system "Greenstar". This system will provide information about the yield of the harvested crop and its moisture content. The system allows you to compile computer maps of field yields, which can then be used by subsequent trains of machines.

The AutoTruck system for combine harvesters automatically controls the movement of the combine across the field, parallel to previous passes. The system processes signals simultaneously from 21 satellites located in geostationary orbit of the Earth. Thus, unprecedented precision of passes is ensured, and the maximum error is no more than 5 cm. Thanks to AutoTruck, the load on the operator is reduced and the productivity of the combine is increased.

The HarvestSmart system automatically adjusts the operating speed of the combine based on a number of factors: combining conditions (humidity of grain mass, combining on slopes), volume of grain mass on the feeder conveyor and threshing drum, straw walker loading, amount of losses behind the straw walker, engine load . HarvestSmart significantly increases the productivity of the combine, while simultaneously improving the quality of threshed grain.

The chords, or “keys,” of the straw walker can be equipped with removable/replaceable grates of either one configuration, or mixed - grain/universal, taking into account the balance of the harvested crops.

The sieve mill can be equipped with electromechanical adjustment of the sieve angle. The sieves are adjusted automatically, based on preset indicators for the specific crop being combined, on the fly. In combination with a system for automatically adjusting combine settings for a range of crops, this makes it possible to reduce grain losses during cleaning, while simultaneously increasing the efficiency of working hours and the overall operating time of the combine.

At the customer's request, combine harvesters are equipped with xenon work lights. Their luminous flux at a distance of 10 m is 1.5, and at a distance of 80 m - 2 times more intense than that of conventional halogen headlights.

Maintenance. Most components in the combine are driven by a hydraulic system. Numerous service backlights ensure visibility of all components and assemblies when performing maintenance in the dark. Maintenance intervals are monitored by the on-board computer; When the next maintenance is due, the computer displays the relevant information on the display.

The hero of our review is one of the first combine harvester models on the market that received streamlined guards, a cabin and a header. In addition to the visual recognition and overall laconicism of the forms, this form factor also allows one to somewhat reduce aerodynamic drag and optimize the direction of raised dust when working in hot and dry conditions.

Dimensions

Length with header in transport position, m8,98
Width with header in transport position, m3,77
Height with header in transport position, m3,94

The dimensions of the John Deere-9640 WTS are limited by the ability to transport the combine without a header on public roads on standard semi-trailers. To stay within the dimensions, engineers had to work hard to fit a double-drum cleaning system, a large engine and an 8,000-liter hopper into such compact overall dimensions.

John Deere 9660STS unit

The John Deere 9660 STS combine, technical specifications, which corresponds to the series, is equipped with a unique threshing system:

  • The feeder drum of the John Deere combine, which carries out feeding, has uniform power supply to the main rotor, while feeding is carried out in the zone of 270°, while for other manufacturers this figure remains at 180°.
  • The STS system itself is designed in three stages, where the composition is distributed and supplied to the threshing area, followed by direct threshing, and then separation of the remaining grains from the straw.

Spare parts for the John Deere combine can be ordered from official representatives of the brand at an affordable cost. It is worth noting that the feeder chamber is equipped with six types of adjustment for transverse and longitudinal positioning, which makes it possible to adapt not only to the landscape, but also to the characteristics of the crops being harvested.
