Scope of application and features of “KBK-8OO”
This equipment is intended for mowing corn (at any stage of grain ripeness), as well as other tall crops, for silage - with simultaneous grinding and loading of feed into vehicles. It can also be used for mowing and collecting windrows of natural or seeded grass, also with chopping into silage and haylage, and loading into vehicles.
This combine can demonstrate the most cost-effective and efficient operation on strong farms and agricultural enterprises with large and medium-sized feed volumes. “KBK-8OO” is distinguished by modern design solutions, a reliable and economical engine, and components of a higher technical level - all this contributes to the stable operation of this agricultural machine in the most difficult conditions, while maintaining high quality of grinding.
The combines of this model provide for sharpening of the chopping drum knives in automatic mode. This ensures an increase in the shift productivity of the agricultural machine. The reliability and wear resistance of the hydrostatic transmission, as well as the drive and steering axles, have been repeatedly tested under extreme loads in particularly difficult harvesting conditions. The drive of the feeding apparatus from a hydraulic motor through a gearbox ensures reliable transmission of power flow.
The combine is also characterized by a high degree of hydrofication, which ensures its technological reliability. And making operational adjustments of working parts from the cab reduces time costs. “KBK-8OO” demonstrates productivity for the preparation of corn silage at the level of 160 tons per hour, for the preparation of haylage - in the region of 85 tons per hour. These indicators are not from the manufacturer’s advertising brochure, but confirmed under real operating conditions. If there is something to load this powerful machine throughout the entire season, this guarantees an extremely high level of profitability of forage procurement.

Combine design
Protection against stones and metal objects
One of the characteristic features of the design of these combines, which is not the least important in their attractiveness for farmers, is the presence of detectors for stones and metal objects. They are combined with an electro-hydraulic system for stopping and reversing the rollers of the feed apparatus and the working bodies of replaceable adapters. This system prevents technical failures and potential breakdowns due to metal and stone debris that is not visible on the field getting into the feeding apparatus.
The metal detector and stone detector sensors transmit a signal to the electronic control panel unit, which is located in the operator’s cab. The system operates immediately, in real time: the drive of the feeder rollers is immediately switched off and the supply of plant material stops. After which, with the activation of the electro-hydraulic reverse mechanism, the stone or metal foreign object is immediately removed from the mechanisms using reverse rotation of the rollers.
Cutting and chopping mechanism
In the chopping drum of the KBK-8OO combine, the knives stand at a certain angle to the shear bar. This design feature provides an oblique cut, which reduces power consumption for cutting plant matter. Further: these knives, due to the angles of inclination, contribute to the displacement of the plant mass from the edges to the center of the drum, which will reduce the friction of the feed mass on the walls of the technological path. There are forty of these knives in total, and they are arranged in groups of 10, in four rows on the chopping drum.
It is easy to smoothly adjust the cutting length of stems from the operator’s cab by turning the knob on the control panel in 2 ranges: 6-9 and 13-20. If you plan to work with larger grinding, then this option provides the ability to work with twenty rather than forty knives on the drum. The accelerator mechanism blades, also placed at an angle, additionally center and increase the speed of passage of the feed mass, and it is loaded into the vehicle bodies more densely and completely.
The direct-flow plant wiring scheme provides the shortest possible path from the feeder rollers to the exit from the silo with an increasing flow rate. This solution determines high throughput with moderate diesel fuel consumption.
The chopping apparatus is the main working body of a forage harvester and the main consumer of energy. In “KBK-8OO” it is driven directly from the crankshaft of a diesel engine, without using intermediate gears, through a particularly durable main drive belt. This design solution guarantees the highest possible efficiency of torque energy transmission and a reduction in specific diesel fuel consumption.
When harvesting corn with waxy ripe grains, the grain grinder is switched on. With its toothed rollers, it intensively crushes the grain, increasing the quality of the silage produced.
To maintain a high pace of work, a feed ejection accelerator is used. A consistently powerful flow of chopped plant matter fills the bodies of vehicles in an extremely dense volume, to maximize the use of their volume and reduce the number of trips for the transportation of silage and haylage.
System for dosed introduction of preservatives into feed mass
“KBK-8OO” is a modern machine in the sense that its design provides for the possibility of using the technology of introducing preservative substances into the feed mass directly during operation of the forage harvester. There is a built-in installation that provides automatic dosed supply of preservatives directly into the crushed plant mass before loading it into the body of the vehicle.

Why are large farms with a large number of livestock so eager to buy a KVK 800 forage harvester?
The answer is simple - this high-performance machine is very effective if you need to prepare a lot of feed. Technological reliability is ensured due to a high degree of hydrofication, and the ability to control all processes directly from the cab allows the combine operator to carry out his work in comfortable conditions. Testing of this model under real operating conditions showed the following results. The productivity for harvesting haylage was 85 tons/hour, corn silage – 160 tons/hour. These indicators guarantee high profitability of feed procurement.
Good reasons to buy KVK 800
This combine has a lot of advantages, starting from a carefully thought-out design and ending with a system of sensors that allows you to monitor the operation of the machine in real time without leaving the cab.
Let us briefly list the main ones:
- a convenient silage chute (the rotation angle is 210 degrees) makes it possible to comfortably operate the machine, avoiding difficult maneuvering (although the maneuverability of the combine, and this must be noted, is at the highest level);
- if repairs are necessary, you can remove not the entire silage duct, but individual plates, which allows you to quickly replace/straighten damaged ones, and therefore significantly reduces operating costs (the entire silage duct does not need to be replaced);
- DESNA-POLESYE FS80 has special protection with a built-in metal detector and stone detector sensors, which protect the knives of the grinding apparatus from possible damage (included in the standard package);
- at the request of the customer, the complex can be equipped with special headers for harvesting grass, allowing both mowing and chopping of the forage base to be carried out in one operation;
- automatic sharpening of knives in the chopping drum provides amazing chopping quality, while significantly reducing fuel consumption;
- the machine is equipped with a grain grinder, which is especially useful when harvesting corn;
- forty knives of the chopping drum are arranged in four rows and installed at a certain angle to the shear beam, which guarantees a clean cut and reduces friction of the feed mass against the walls of the path (this allows to reduce the load on the bearings, and therefore reduce the cost of their maintenance and regular replacement);
- a spacious fuel tank allows the combine to operate fully for at least ten hours without refueling;
- cleaning the machine, filters, radiator unit, and cabin from dirt and dust is carried out using a special pneumatic system;
- the sealed cabin of the Comfort Max format offers excellent visibility (a large panoramic window is installed) and reliably protects the combine operator from dust, dirt and noise;
- There is an air conditioner, a small refrigerator box in which you can cool water/drinks, and, if necessary, it is also equipped with a heating system.
Why is the price of KVK 800 lower than its foreign analogues?
Let us immediately note that the DESNA-POLESIE FS80 is in no way inferior to most foreign forage harvesters of this class, although the price of the KVK 800 is noticeably lower. This became possible thanks to high-quality components of our own production and the installation of an economical engine of 450 horsepower. Everything here is done with attention to detail and with care for the operator of the complex. “Little things” such as a sunshade, the ability to conveniently adjust the steering column and work chair, the presence of an additional seat, seem to be insignificant, but have a significant impact on the personal comfort of the combine operator.
Cleaning capabilities with working equipment
The adapters used by “KBK-8OO” are designed specifically for high productivity and intensive grinding. The rotary-type header feeds corn or sunflower stalks exactly in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the feeding apparatus, and the pick-up, due to its design, provides the shortest path of the picked mass to the rollers.
“KBK-8OO” combines are equipped with pick-ups with gauge wheels. Such a picker copies the topography of the field quite accurately, and without damaging the root system of cultivated plants. The design of the pick-up provides the shortest path of the feed mass to the feeding apparatus and a stable increase in the stability of the pick-up. The picking device is located compactly under the auger, so when the feeder rollers are reversed, the plant mass is removed directly onto the field. , without the need for additional cleaning.
The use of grass headers of a similar design in the “KBK-8OO” / “Polesie FS8O” combines - with a system for copying the field topography and setting the cutting height - ensures a stable and equally even cut. The overrunning clutch of the reel drive pulley protects the reel from damage during reverse rotation of the auger. The silo pipeline with a rotation angle of 210 degrees allows you to avoid all sorts of complex maneuvering. Replacement If necessary, not the entire silo pipeline can be replaced, but only the easily removable plates at its base - and this is another reserve for reducing operating costs.
A rotary harvester for working with coarse crops cuts into the corn massif, cuts the stalks cleanly and at the same height. The stems are fed to the feeding apparatus only with their lower parts. This helps to avoid cob losses, so that the agricultural machine is left with an almost perfectly harvested field. When harvesting waxy ripe corn with hard stalks and cobs, the quality of the cut and the uniformity of supply of the cut mass still remain stable.
Systems for protecting the feeding apparatus, automatic sharpening of knives, as well as dosed introduction of preservative substances into the flow are included in the standard basic package. As additional options, upon customer request, “KBK-8OO” combines can be equipped with pick-ups, special headers for grass and special headers adapted for harvesting long-stemmed crops.
How the car works
The combine contains 2 main parts:
The thresher is placed on a wheeled self-propelled chassis. It has:
- an inclined chamber through which the cut mass enters the threshing department;
- threshing mechanism that separates grains from stems;
- a cleaning unit in which the grains separated from the stems pass through a grate, then are threshed and cleaned of debris in an air stream;
- a straw walker that receives the stem mass from the cleaning unit, shakes out the remaining grains from it and sends them to the bunker compartment;
- a storage hopper, which is equipped with a fill level sensor, holes through which samples are taken, and a screw device that unloads grain;
- power plant - diesel engine;
- electronic devices that control the grain processing process;
- transmission unit and chassis control;
- a comfortable cabin equipped with a control panel, ventilation and heating system.
The header is an attachment that is attached to the front of the combine. It consists of a large number of linearly arranged knives and a 2-way screw conveyor. The stalks of cereals, cut by knives, are captured by the conveyor and moved to the middle part of the header, from where they enter the inclined chamber of the thresher.
Engines of the combine "KBK-8OO"
The “KBK-8OO” / “Polesie FS8O” combines are equipped with diesel engines with a capacity of 450 horsepower (or 330 kW). In more economically favorable years, these were imported engines produced by the Mercedes-Benz OM 502 LA model. A modification with such a power unit has. In recent years, similar domestic engines have been installed on these combines - “D-280.1 S2-01” from the Minsk Motor Plant. A modification of the combine with this engine produced by MMZ is designated “KBK-8OO-36”.
"D-280.1 S2-01"
Both of these diesel engine options are characterized by optimal power development with moderate fuel consumption, which helps ensure maximum harvester performance. "Mercedes-Benz OM 502 LA" "D-280.1 S2-01" are eight-cylinder turbocharged diesel engines. "Mercedes" - 11.9-liter; "D-280.1 S2-01" has a working volume of 17.24 liters. The capacity of the diesel fuel tank ensures uninterrupted operation of the forage harvesting complex without the need for refueling for 10 hours.

Reviews from owners and machine operators about “KBK-8OO”
This model of forage harvester is still very rare on farms. But those who use this technology speak only highly of it. This is actually an extremely high-performance complex, reliable and powerful machine. Those who have had experience in the past of working on the “KSK-100” and similar combines for harvesting corn and sunflower for silage note that it is one and a half to two times higher, and the feed mass after processing with this combine turns out to be of much higher quality - finer, with well crushed corn grain. Of course, the conditions in the cockpit also cannot be compared with the KCK.
In previous generation combines, the header was designed for four rows, but the KBK-8OO harvests six rows in one pass. At the same time, the quality of its work is noticeably higher than the lost cobs on the field after the passage of the combine, and the feed mass is an order of magnitude better. Currently, combine harvesters of this model are produced not only in Gomel, but also at the Bryanskselmash enterprise.
Testing of forage harvesters KVK-800, Jaguar 850 and KSK-600
Text: S. A. Shevlyakova, head. Laboratory of Economic Assessment of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Central Chernozem MIS"
World experience in the development of agricultural production shows that one of the main conditions for its effectiveness is a high level of technical equipment of agricultural enterprises. After all, only modern units can provide excellent performance and high-quality performance of all field work.
High-performance machines play an important role during the harvesting campaign, when every day of delay leads to crop losses. At the same time, in our country for many years there has been a shortage of such equipment, including forage harvesters. Today, many domestic and foreign manufacturers are developing similar equipment for the Russian market, declaring its high level of reliability and excellent performance, but such statements can be most fully verified only through the practical use of the units.
Specialists from the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Central Chernozem MIS” regularly carry out field testing of agricultural machines, including forage harvesters. Previously, they tested two popular units - KVK-800 from and Jaguar 850 from Class. This time, along with this equipment, the KSK-600 combine harvester took part in the experiment ( pictured 1 above ), and the production indicators were assessed, including taking into account the number of personnel servicing each machine and additional vehicles. Tests of these combines were carried out on the fields of various farms in the Kursk region when harvesting corn for silage in the milky-waxy ripeness phase of the grain with simultaneous grinding and loading of the mass into vehicles - KamAZ vehicles. The operational and technological indicators of the tested units were determined when operating in the modes and backgrounds provided for by GOST and normative and technical documentation.
