This can be judged not only by reviews and technical characteristics, but also by the superluminal speed of development of the company. Formed in 1996 as part of a state holding, by 2003 Foton Motors was one of the 100 largest enterprises in the Chinese market, occupying 55th position on this list. Chinese Enigma

In the first year, Foton Motors sold 936 cars in Russia, but in the first six months of 2013 alone, one and a half times more units were sold.

The ISF line is the pride of the English company Cummins, the first model of which was presented at the exhibition in 2008. In China, the Anglo-American company has two factories, one of which supplies engines to DongFeng (a branch of FAW), and the second supplies ISF for Foton cars. For light-duty trucks there is ISF 2.8, which has six power settings. At the same time, with the second ISF 3.8 engine, the 2.8-liter engine has 70 common parts, which greatly facilitates the repair of the unit.

The new Photon 1049 is equipped with modification 2.8 - s4148T. Power – 150 hp, achieved at 3200 rpm). Maximum torque – 360 Nm (at 1800 rpm).     There is no power take-off in the vehicle, so the use of the truck is limited to vans and flatbeds. There is a hatch for the power take-off, but it is rarely installed. It is interesting that all the company’s products with a power take-off imported into Russia use PTOs of different models.

    One of the advantages of the model is the presence of a differential lock. Starting off on an icy road in winter or pulling off to the side of the road in rainy weather is not scary with the Foton 1099.

    The model has drum brakes. The advantages of the system include the presence of a pneumatic drive. The handbrake uses energy accumulators, which makes it much more reliable.

    The cabin of the Photon 1099 has standard dimensions for this class. It is distinguished by a large doorway, which, paired with a single step, allows you to climb inside in one movement. The cabin itself is quite wide and is optionally equipped with a berth. The dashboard is made very well and is pleasant to the touch. In terms of quality of finish, Foton 1099 lags significantly behind European products, and the most accurate comparison point is the panel and interior of the restyled GAZelle.
