Specifications

Structurally, the UAZ-3962 is a regular minibus with all-wheel drive, slightly adapted for transporting patients and medical personnel. On the outside of the car there is a red stripe with the inscription “Emergency Medical Care” and telephone number 03 on the central wide pillar of the body. The second color option includes the words “Medical Service” on the front doors and a medical cross. Typical color options for the UAZ-3962 are shown in the photos above and below.

The car is equipped with an all-metal carriage-type frame body and has one side door on the left side and two doors on the right. The stretcher with the patient is loaded through the rear doors with symmetrical hinged doors. The overall dimensions of the car do not differ from other Ulyanovsk minibuses.

UAZ-3962 is equipped with a single type of engine. This is a four-cylinder gasoline 112-horsepower unit ZMZ 4091. The engine has a volume of almost 2,700 cubic meters and runs quietly on A92 gasoline. A fairly powerful engine allows you to accelerate the sanitary “loaf” to 125-127 km/h.

But due to the heavy weight of the car and poor aerodynamics, fuel consumption does not drop below 13.5 liters even in the extra-urban cycle. On severe off-road conditions, consumption increases and can reach 25 liters or more. The gasoline supply is located in a 77-liter tank.

"Orphan" with all-wheel drive

The reason for the creation of an ambulance with all-wheel drive was the lack of roads between many small settlements of the USSR. Since 1989, to provide ambulance stations in such places, the ambulance UAZ-3962 began to be produced. The car in this version is still produced today, since it has no competitors capable of combining maintainability and high cross-country ability. However, the key factor when choosing a UAZ-3962 car is the price, which in the fall of 2022 is just under 510 thousand rubles. The list of additional options is not rich and consists of one item - a rotating headlight on the roof with a cost of 1 thousand rubles.

The basic equipment of the car includes anti-lock brakes, power steering and an additional heater for the passenger compartment. Inside the compartment there are guides for stretchers and two places for medical workers or accompanying persons. There are regular places for installing medical equipment along the wall and on the ceiling.

How much does a UAZ 469 body weigh to scrap?

I already searched on the internet. There is no information anywhere about how much the UAZ-452 body weighs. I couldn’t even find anything in the manuals (only the gross vehicle weight).

Maybe someone knows? I need to sell it for scrap. I would like to know in advance what amount to expect.

Thanks guys. )

In general, the weight of the pure sheet metal of the body is approximately the same for modifications: 2206, 3909, 3962, 39625, 452, 3741.

Alexander Gl, I won’t be able to get that much..((((In my village they only accept tin in one place for 2.40 per kg. Did you only hand over the body, without the frame?

Our prices are ridiculous: 2.4 rubles. for 1 kg of tin. Gained 1536 rubles. Minus 500 rub. for a thief. Net income 1036 rub. )))

Yes, I also didn’t expect that it would cost 600 kg. I was counting on 436 kg, no more. My body seemed to be from 2206 (minibus). The body was clean, except for the doors there was nothing else in it. In general, the scales showed about 675 kg. He took something away for his own benefit and said that the plant would deduct it from him. Anyway! I'm glad that I at least got rid of the scrap metal in the yard! )))

Brake system

There are rear and front drum brakes installed here.

The drum brake system of the UAZ Bukhanka consists of a parking, working and auxiliary mechanism.

The working system includes a master brake cylinder, a vacuum booster, a pressure level regulator in the rear brakes, pads, an ABS unit, a steering column, and operating circuits.

The main cylindrical mechanism converts the force that comes from the brake pedal into the pressure of the working fluid and distributes it along the circuits, as a result of which the vehicle is braked. An amplifier is needed to create more pressure in the system.

The pistons of the working cylinders begin to move the brake pads towards the wheel drums. When you press the brake pedal further, the rotation of the wheel mechanisms slows down, and the pressure of the working fluid increases to 15 MPa.

When the driver releases the pedal, the return spring moves the main cylinder mechanism to the neutral position, fluid flows into the cylinder, and the shoes release the drums, which leads to a decrease in pressure levels.

The parking system is necessary to keep the car in one place for a long time, for emergency braking and to prevent the vehicle from spontaneously moving on a slope.

It is recommended to change the working fluid in the brake system once every six months. The amount of working mixture should not be lower than 3 liters. The maximum capacity of this system is 7.5 liters.

Profit from scrapping UAZ-452

Cars with severe wear and tear are more profitable to sell for scrap than to restore and try to sell. Today, metal recycling centers mainly receive domestic cars produced 20-30 years ago. Cars of the UAZ-452 family are more common than many others.

Their production began in 1965 and continues today. People call these cars “loaves” and “tadpoles” because of their original body shape. Transport of this model is used by various special services and is suitable for transporting passengers, cargo, and professional equipment. UAZ vehicles travel many hundreds of thousands of kilometers, after which they end up at scrap collection points in varying degrees of safety.

Mass of pure metal in a car

“Loaves” continue to travel around the country, spare parts for them remain in demand. Therefore, many owners prefer to scrap a car that is not fully assembled. All parts that are still usable are removed and resold. Non-metallic materials are also subject to dismantling: interior trim, rubber seals, leather and textile seats. If the owner is not too lazy to disassemble the car, only the skeleton of the UAZ-452, weighing 750-800 kg, will end up at the scrap metal collection point in Voronezh.

There are those who do not want to waste time on preliminary preparation and rent out the entire car. The weight of a fully equipped UAZ is at least 1,700 kg, the weight of some new modifications reaches 2,000 kg or more.

When calculating the remuneration, the following is deducted from the total weight of the vehicle:

  • weight of non-metallic parts installed inside and outside the body;
  • degree of clogging of parts;
  • expenses for disassembling and sawing the body.

The degree of blockage can reach 25-30% of the vehicle’s weight, and the costs of cutting for the receiving staff are usually 7-10%. From this it follows that it is more profitable to hand over a UAZ after disassembling and sawing the body. In this case, you can count on a reward for 650-700 kg of pure metal.

Electrical equipment

The difference between the electrical circuit of the injector and the electrical circuit of a carburetor UAZ is that the latter has a newer model of an optical switch.

Electrical equipment consists of such systems as:

  • electricity supply;
  • light alarm;
  • external and internal lighting;
  • instrumentation;
  • heating;
  • window lifters and wipers;
  • sound alarm;
  • an ignition system consisting of an electric starter to start the power unit.

The power supply system is necessary to power consumers of electric current when the engine is running. Two rechargeable batteries with a capacity of 100 Ah are used as power sources. Their negative terminal is connected to the vehicle ground through a special switch with remote control from the driver’s cab.

How much does UAZ “Bukhanka” weigh for scrap metal?

Most often, the body of a Bukhanka car is handed in for recycling, since the remaining spare parts are mostly sold as used parts. The body weight of the “Loaf” is approximately 760 kg. However, if the “Loaf” assembly (body, bridge, engine and others) is subject to disposal, then the weight can reach 2 tons. In this case, it is necessary to take into account a number of factors taken into account by buyers when accepting this kind of scrap for recycling, answering the question of how much the UAZ “Loaf” weighs for scrap metal:

  • the weight of the purchased material does not include non-metallic parts;
  • when weighing, the degree of clogging of parts is also taken into account;
  • When accepting the “Loaf” for disposal, 30 percent of the total weight will be taken away for blockage.

Thus, it should be noted that if the total weight of the “Loaf” is approximately 1700 kg, then you can get real money only for 1190 kg. However, you can try to increase your income by dismantling the car for parts and selling the body and other elements of the “Loaf” separately.

From all of the above, it follows that by deciding to recycle the body of a UAZ “Bukhanka” car, you can get money for scrap weighing 768 kg, with a net weight of the entire vehicle of 1190. Therefore, it is most advisable to sell a disassembled car as scrap for recycling, and earn an order of magnitude more. In any case, proper disposal of vehicles will allow you to generate revenue by getting rid of unnecessary scrap without littering the area.
