This problem may occur due to a dirty air filter. If this is the case, then replacing the filter element will solve the problem.

The engine may not develop full power due to low compression in the cylinders. The compression in each cylinder should not be less than 14 kgf per square cm. If the compression level in at least one cylinder is less, serious repairs are required. Low compression may be due to wear of the piston rings, or due to the breakthrough of gases through damaged valve chamfers. After identifying a breakdown, you need to replace the failed parts.

The engine will not be able to develop full power if the fine filter is dirty. The contaminated element must be replaced.

If the sensor indicating absolute pressure is faulty, the motor will also not operate at full power. Replacing the sensor will positively resolve the issue.

On an Evotech engine, air leakage often increases

Weak points from a hermetic point of view are: vacuum brake booster, intake manifold, crankcase ventilation. After identifying and eliminating air leaks, fuel consumption should return to normal.

Fuel consumption will increase due to leakage of one or more injectors. Faulty parts must be replaced or repaired.

Incorrect adjustment of the gas distribution mechanism will also lead to increased fuel consumption. Correctly setting the timing mechanism can only be done at a maintenance service.

Engine knocking at full power or partial loads

This problem most often occurs when using fuel with a low octane number, a violation of the chemical composition of the fuel, or water getting into gasoline.

The cause may be a failed knock sensor or a breakdown of the sensor's shielding shell. Defective parts must be replaced.

Intermittent engine operation

This problem may occur for the following reasons:

  • malfunction of the control circuit or power supply of the fuel injector, you need to restore the faulty electrical circuit;
  • faulty spark plugs, spark plugs must be cleaned, gap adjusted or replaced;
  • mechanical failure of the injector. The problematic injector must be replaced;
  • failure of the high-voltage wire, the latter must be replaced.

Increased consumption of motor lubricant can occur for several reasons:

  • oil leakage through gasket seals or cuffs. The problem can be solved by replacing gaskets and other seals;
  • Engine oil consumption depends on the condition of the piston rings, cylinder walls and pistons. With severe wear, the consumption of engine lubricant will increase significantly. Replacing worn parts will help reduce consumption;
  • Oil consumption may be high due to failure of valve guides and seals. Defective parts must be replaced.

A knock in the power unit can occur for various reasons:

  • a knock may appear in the BC head due to wear of the nuts and bushings; worn parts need to be replaced;
  • wear of the connecting rod sliding bearings, also known as bearings, the latter must be replaced;
  • knocking of hydraulic compensators occurs due to the use of low quality fuel, everything is simple here, you only need to refuel with high-quality gasoline;
  • The knock may occur due to the rotation of the bushing located in the upper head of the connecting rod. Here, replacing the entire connecting rod will solve the problem;
  • A knock on a cold engine indicates wear on the cylinder walls and pistons. This is a sure sign of a quick overhaul;
  • When the crankshaft thrust bearing washer wears out, axial play will appear. As a result, an extraneous knock will occur in the engine. In the best case, the thrust washer will need to be replaced. Although more serious repairs are possible;
  • Due to wear on the hub end of the camshaft drive gear, axial play may appear, resulting in an extraneous knocking noise. The knocking noise can be eliminated by replacing the damaged gear.
