The Gorky Automobile is more likely to be classified as a small class truck; it can just as easily be classified as a passenger car. To drive a Gazelle, a category B license is sufficient, but the vehicle sometimes carries cargo that no passenger car can carry. With the advent of the GAZ 3302, a new type of transport arose in Russia, which should most accurately be called commercial.

Varieties of "Gazelles"

The extended cab of the GAZelle “Farmer” truck accommodates up to 6 people. The GAZ 3302 flatbed is considered the basic model of a commercial vehicle. Flatbed vehicles were equipped with roll bars and an awning from the factory.
Serial production of the car began in 1994, but since that time many different modifications have been made, including minibuses assembled at GAZ.
The following modifications can be noted in the Gazelle family:
- GAZ 2705 – three-seater metal van;
- GAZ-33023 – on-board vehicle with an extended seven-seat “Farmer” cabin;
- GAZ-2752 - all-metal van with a shortened Sobol base;
- GAZ-2217 - “Barguzin”, a minibus based on the “Sobol”;
- GAZ-3221 is a minibus with a standard base based on an all-metal body 2705.

Onboard gas 330202 has an extended base, and with all the same dimensions as the base car 3302, its length has been increased to 6.6 m.
Capacity of Gazelles
Gazelles are produced in several versions, differing in base dimensions, load capacity, and body dimensions. The standard model 3302 has a body length of 3.1 m and a width of 2.04 m. Ten years ago, the plant put a new type of commercial vehicle on the assembly line. Representatives of the “Business” series have a body with an extended base, which increased capacity. Later, Next commercial vehicles were added to the Gazelle family, which also have an extended body base.
The number of cubic meters of cargo depends on the dimensions and type of body. In the on-board model, you can transport products in large volumes, since the height is not limited by an awning or a van. Such machines can also be used to transport oversized cargo. The Farmer has a minimum capacity; its body is smaller. The highest performance is found in commercial models with an extended wheelbase.

"Gazelle" with a van
A commercial vehicle has to carry a variety of loads. But a simple body with an awning is not designed for transporting perishable products, and it is not very convenient to transport furniture in it. Therefore, many manufacturing enterprises have taken up the task of improving the small-sized truck. Various vans are installed on the GAZ 3303 or GAZ 33023 “Farmer” base chassis.
Van sizes vary and may vary in height and length. As a rule, only the width is standard.
The purpose and types of vans also differ, they can be:
- Isothermal (assembled from sandwich panels);

In 2013, a completely new GAZelle NEXT model entered the assembly line of the Gorky Automobile Plant. In addition to the significantly updated technical stuffing, the car also received a new appearance, which was formed by a completely new, much more modern cabin. The new car received the factory index GAZ-A21R22.

In the standard version, the cargo compartment of the truck has the following dimensions (all dimensions are given in millimeters):

- Width - 2078.
There is no standard height, like the previous generation of the car. The machine is produced in a version with sides, and the tilt body must be installed by dealers or third-party companies, based on the wishes of the customer.
The shortened version is the Farmer, with a five-seater cabin, the length of the cargo compartment is 2.4 meters.
We draw the attention of readers that the length of the loading platform of the NEXT Farmer is slightly longer than that of the previous generation Farmer.
Long-wheelbase versions are also available for Next. Their loading platforms are 4.2 and 5 meters long.
Unlike the previous generation minibus, the new generation of the renowned truck has two sizes for the all-metal version. Now, in addition to the standard minibus, an extended version is being produced in Nizhny Novgorod.

In addition to dimensions and load capacity, the Gazelle body is also characterized by such an indicator as volume. There are light but large cargo, and therefore it is important whether this cargo can be placed in the back of the car. The standard GAZ 3302 body with an awning has a volume of 8 cubic meters. m.
