History of creation

Some time after the creation of Hitachi Construction Machinery, partnerships were established with the equally well-known American corporation John Deere. This cooperation brought the company quite a lot of opportunities, including the supply of special equipment to the US market. Currently, Hitachi Construction Machinery has more than 30 factories, of which only half are located in Japan. These facilities produce almost all types of modern special equipment, however, it is excavator equipment that brings the greatest profit to the manufacturer. This type of machine is currently very popular all over the world. The entire model range includes machines both on a tracked platform and on pneumatic wheels.

One of the most powerful machines in the entire range is the Hitachi ZX330LC crawler excavator. Its distinctive feature from other models is its reinforced design, which makes it suitable for use in rather harsh production conditions. In addition to strengthening the side steps, the manufacturer installed additional boom protection and support plates made of high-strength rubber.

It is worth noting that this excavator is a representative of the middle class of special equipment, however, its overall dimensions and the operational power of the power plant raise some doubts about this. Modifications of Hitachi ZX330

Within the Hitachi ZX330 production series, four equipment modifications are produced:

  • Hitachi ZX330-3. This modification has a larger fuel tank volume than the basic version - as much as 630 liters versus 560 standard. The water cooling system holds up to 32 liters, and the hydraulic tank is designed for 298 liters. The main working element is a reverse bucket-shovel with a volume of 1.15 or 1.85 cubic meters. The crankshaft revolutions per minute are 1900.
  • Hitachi ZX330LC-3. In many ways similar to the previous modification. All of the above quantitative characteristics are the same. The difference between this version and the previous one is a more advanced mechanism of working elements and improvements to the operator’s cabin. This model has fine-tuned control of the machine.
  • Hitachi ZX330-5G. Has an improved cooling and hydraulic system. The fuel tank capacity is 630 liters, the hydraulic tank capacity reaches 180 liters - slightly less than the ZX-330-3. But the cooling system holds up to 35 liters of water. The basic package includes an earth-moving bucket with a volume of 0.9–1.62 cubic meters.
  • Hitachi ZX330LC-5G. The main difference from the previous modification is the lower curb weight of the vehicle. For the current version it is 32.1 tons versus 31.5 for the previous one. The remaining technical characteristics have the same quantitative indicators. The standard equipment includes a digging bucket from 0.9 to 1.62 cubic meters.

The basic version of the model is Hitachi ZX330H-5G. Its characteristics correspond to the values ​​that we listed in the “General Parameters” section. Indicators that are specified as an interval for the base model correspond to the lower value.

Engine

Isuzu supplies AH-6HK1XYSA-01 engines for the Hitachi 330. This is a four-stroke six-cylinder engine running on diesel fuel. The power plant has a volume of 7.79 liters and a power of 202 kW, which translates to 275 horsepower.
