Overview of the capabilities and technical characteristics of the Akros 530 combine harvester

The Acros 530 combine harvester is a grain harvesting agricultural unit developed by Rostselmash for true professionals. Acros 530 (another name is RSM-142) is suitable for direct and separate harvesting of winter and spring wheat, barley, oats, rye, and other cereal crops, as well as corn and sunflower, for this it is necessary to install additional attachments. Currently, the Acros 530 combine harvester is the most advantageous offer in the class of high-performance harvesting equipment. In addition to this model, there is also the ACROS 580 combine harvester.

Field of application of agricultural machinery

Direct and separate harvesting of grains and agricultural crops, such as corn and sunflower, will be successfully carried out by the fifth-class combine harvester "Akros 530", which is also called "RSM-142". He is considered a leader in the agro-industry.

Increased technical equipment and modernization of components made it possible to increase the productivity of the header and reduce the cost of threshed grain. The amount of losses due to uncollected grain does not exceed 5% - this is the highest result for modern technology.

The Akros 530 header is quite large and spacious compared to the previous Don 1500 and SK-5 Niva machines.

Acros 530 was positioned as an alternative to Western combines. The production of equipment was carried out at factories in the USA, Kazakhstan, Canada, Ukraine and Russia. This model was the base model. Akros 530 was supplied to 25 countries around the world.

News here.

The Rostselmash organization is considered one of the few Soviet manufacturers of agricultural machinery that managed to survive the collapse of the Union. After a short crisis, the company managed to launch production of advanced products, and the Acros 530 model took it to a fundamentally new level.

The premiere of the advanced combine was attended by the heads of many regions, and the first recipient of the equipment was SPK Voskhod (Krasnodar Territory). In the summer of 2007, Vladimir Putin met the Akros 530 model and liked the product. Soon the combine completely replaced its predecessor, the Don 1500 machine. Investments in the project amounted to about 800 million rubles. With this money, Rostselmash almost completely rebuilt the production line and bought new equipment, which significantly improved the quality of the products. Tests of the Acros 530 in 26 regions with different climates showed that the combine is ready to solve the most difficult tasks. The model reduced the cost of bunker grain and provided the operator with unprecedented convenience.

Akros 530 is distinguished by wide functionality. The combine is suitable for separate and direct harvesting of spring and winter wheat, rye, barley, oats and other cereal crops. You can also use it to harvest sunflowers and corn, but for this you will have to install special attachments.

How the Akros 530 combine harvester works

The work of grain harvesting equipment is associated with three main operations: reaping, threshing and cleaning.

Threshing and separating device of the Akros 530 combine

The main unit of the Akros 530 combine is a high-strength header with knives that are driven by a planetary gearbox. The hydraulically driven reel describes a complex trajectory, managing long stems and preventing them from wrapping. The header can be switched on in reverse mode.

Threshing is performed by a large drum that has no analogues. Its coverage angle is 130°. The device spins at 1045 rpm to grind even wet grain and twisted stems.

The grain is shipped in its pure form, and for this purpose it undergoes cleaning. The straw goes into the straw walker, and the grain goes for further processing. The structure of the straw walker has 7 cascading levels that dispense straw stems without damage. The straw is chopped with knives in a special mechanism. The straw mass is then distributed across the field. The grain enters the sieves and goes through two stages of processing. Due to the oscillations, the grain is distributed with simultaneous blowing by a fan. Clean grain is collected in a hopper.

Sensors at several levels monitor the grain content of the straw so that the operator can change the threshing speed along the way.

About the transmission

Grain header on Acros 530

The Akros 530 grain harvester operates on a hydrostatic transmission. This circuit has stepless speed control. Unlike mechanical designs, there is no friction between parts, which increases durability.

Kinematics ensures an even distribution of the load between the shafts, so that each has no more than 2 power consumers. Individually adjustable V-belt drives ensure precise adjustment over a wide range.

The device does not require frequent service and works reliably.

Features of the versions

Users immediately liked the car, even despite the fact that the RSM 142 is presented in only one modification. It is possible to attach headers with different working widths.

Separate installation of mechanisms for collecting corn and sunflower is provided. The popularity of the model can be explained by several features:

  • low price - in the domestic market the device costs much less than its competitors;
  • productivity - the combine shows consistently good results in harvesting grains or sunflowers;
  • efficiency - the model’s engine consumes less fuel than other previously produced cars.

Hydraulic drive and steering "Akros 530"

Harvester Acros-530

The hydraulic system of the Akros 530 combine includes a number of pumping stations and a communications network connecting them with the main units. For uninterrupted operation of the mechanisms, fluid is supplied from a common hydraulic tank through separate circuits to the transmission, attachments and steering. Thanks to this principle, the operation of each node does not depend on the load on another consumer and the combine operates efficiently.

So, when the steering unit and transmission are powered by one pump, then when the power is turned on at the same time, there is not enough power and the performance of the header drops noticeably.

The Akros 530 steering unit operates hydraulically, which ensures maximum control accuracy and minimizes the load on the operator.

Design and service features

The combine has a number of design features that distinguish it from other domestic products. The PCM 142 Acros 530 is based on a durable welded metal frame, additionally reinforced with bolted connections and cross braces. The main working mechanisms and chassis are installed on it. Modern gearboxes allow you to move on roads at high speed. The drive from the power plant to the rollers and units is carried out in a combined way (belts and chains). The conveyor unit is located longitudinally in relation to the body, so that when working with a truck, the working area is minimal. With this method, the car is located behind the combine. Key components and working mechanisms are protected by a metal casing located in the upper area and on the sides of the equipment.

The kinematic transmissions of the combine distribute power almost symmetrically. The power circuits do not intersect, and no more than two consumers are located on one shaft. Each belt drive has individual adjustment. This design allows for quick setup. The RSM 142 Acros 530 uses a GST-112 hydrostatic transmission with continuously variable speed control within the gear. An extended speed range allows you to select the optimal thresher loading.

The hydraulic system is represented by 4 hydraulic systems: main, chassis drive, reel drive and steering. Most of the elements of the RSM 142 Acros 530 hydraulic system were borrowed from the Don 1500B combine. Among the new solutions are a single hydraulic tank, original pipeline routing, new elements of hydraulic equipment of increased reliability and an improved pumping station.

The PCM 142 Acros 530 is equipped with advanced unified Power Stream headers, characterized by a robust design and minimal operating losses. According to their characteristics, they are the best among the models produced within the CIS.

Advantages of Power Stream headers:

  • extended barrel;
  • increased size of reel rake pipes;
  • hydraulic reel drive, which allows you to continuously adjust the rotation speed and ensure uniform supply of grain mass;
  • integrated reel arms and discs;
  • additional counter-cutting surface;
  • double fingers of the reel rake, coping with fallen and twisted bread;
  • a special inclined chamber, supplemented with a beater-normalizer;
  • drive of knives by Pro-drive gearbox.

The headers are equipped with a system of longitudinal-transverse ground contour following, which allows for maximum productivity on uneven fields. Power Stream headers use a Level Glide copy device. The powerful reverse of the feeder chamber and header elements allows you to quickly clean the reaping part when objects from the outside get in or become clogged. The equipment is equipped with a transport trolley capable of transporting any type of header with maximum comfort.

The threshing and separating device is the strong point of the PCM 142 Acros 530. The main feature of the system is the threshing drum with the largest diameter among currently available combines (800 mm). The drum drive with an automatic belt tensioning device of the Posi-Torque type is designed for maximum loads. The drum rotation speed can be adjusted from the cab. The concave clearance is controlled electrically via a button on the control panel.

The cleaning system works effectively with the straw mass and grains, which are directed to a 5-key straw walker by means of a beater. Small particles and grain pass through the blinds and enter the cleaning system, while the long-straw mass is transported to the outlet. Grain loss sensors allow you to evaluate the correctness of the settings. Depending on further use, the straw can be placed in windrows or scattered across the field. The chopper-spreader carefully cuts the straw and distributes it over the surface. Its design uses 64 double-edged knives with a self-sharpening effect. The shredder is set up from the cab.

RSM 142 Acros 530 is equipped with a grain bin, the volume of which is enough for 6000-6500 kg of grain. The high-performance elevator unloads at a speed of up to 90 l/sec (complete unloading takes about 2 minutes). The dimensions of the auger ensure unhindered unloading into any vehicle. The unique Smart Launch mechanism protects against overload, and hydropulsators reduce the “hanging” of the grain mass in the bunker.

For the PCM 142 Acros 530, a Comfort Cab with increased comfort has been developed. The stock package includes a heater, radio, air conditioning and a refrigerator. Panoramic glazing and a large window in the rear allow full control of the work process. Thanks to the presence of halogen headlights, you can work on the combine at night. The cabin is installed on shock absorbers that reduce vibration. The multilayer structure provides noise insulation. The workplace has an adjustable steering column and a sprung seat. There is a soft seat for the assistant. Control is carried out by a special handle.

The PCM 142 Acros 530 requires regular maintenance, which consists of checking hydraulic and lubricating fluids, internal elements and fasteners. It is better to entrust the repair of a combine to specialists from technical stations.

"Acros" RSM 152

The Acros 595 RSM 152 grain harvester is one of the latest modifications produced by Rostselmash. The combination of performance, simplified maintenance, maintainability and efficiency makes it one of the most popular cars among its classmates.

Advantages:

  • beater-free feeder chamber, which made it possible to adapt the combine for row crops;
  • reduced load on the chopper;
  • improved grain permeability due to the longitudinal design of the straw walker grooves;
  • separation block of 2 cascades;
  • electrohydraulic adaptation to complex field geometry;
  • post-threshing device, which is a 3-blade rotor for gentle cleaning of the crop;
  • improved airflow with a 6-blade fan;
  • chaff spreader, which will become an indispensable thing for adherents of plowless farming.

The performance characteristics of the 595 modification are similar to the 590.

Design

"Akros" 530 is positioned by the manufacturer as high-performance equipment. This combine is designed to work over large areas, with high and medium yields of grain crops. According to farmers, in one season the equipment is capable of harvesting about 1,200 hectares. Let's look at the key features of the combine.

Drum and cleaning system

The ACROS design includes one threshing drum, complemented by a five-key, seven-stage straw walker. This scheme of threshing and separating device allows you to separate up to 95% of the grain. The residual mass is sent to a two-stage fine cleaning system. This allows you to minimize grain loss and operate with a fairly high efficiency. Please note that it is superior even to combines with a double-drum cleaning system. The equipment is capable of working almost non-stop. This opportunity is provided by the JAN CONTROL device. This is a deep deck dump system that solves clogging problems when harvesting difficult crops.

Bunker and unloading

Separately, it is worth mentioning the SMART LAUNCH unloading system. This innovative solution helps to completely empty a 9,000 liter bin in less than 2 minutes. The high-speed unloading scheme eliminates clogging of the augers. First, the unloading devices are turned on, then the feed auger at the bottom of the hopper.

Cabin

Unlike its predecessors, Akros has a central cabin location. Coupled with panoramic glazing, this provides an all-round view, allowing you to control the cleaning process. In addition, the cabin has an increased level of comfort: there is a heating and air conditioning system. The self-diagnosis system looks interesting. A message about any malfunctions of working units is displayed on the information display of the on-board computer. It is worth noting that the main components are easily accessible, which makes it possible to carry out minor repairs in the field. This allows you to minimize equipment downtime during harvesting operations.

Working bodies, operational parameters

Control module acros 530 At its core, a self-propelled harvester is a combination on one chassis of several mechanisms designed for harvesting and primary processing.

So the RSM 142 was equipped with a reaping part, a threshing unit, transport lines, and a bunker.

Harvest part

The harvester is equipped with a header of its own design. Rostselmash gave the advanced design the name Power Stream. If we compare the header with other similar mechanisms, it has increased strength with low weight. A special feature of the implement is the ability to lift even heavily fallen spikelets, which ensures efficient grain harvesting.

The company produces headers with working widths of 5, 6, 7, 9 m. The position of the implement relative to the machine is controlled by an electro-hydraulic drive. It is possible to operate the mechanism in two modes: copying the relief and at a fixed distance from the surface of the earth.

  • In the first case, you can stepwise set the cutting height within 60, 100, 140, 180 mm.
  • In a fixed position, the header is held by hydraulic cylinders at a distance of 180 to 900 mm from the ground surface.

The mechanism harvests at a speed of 3.3 hectares per hour.

The header is equipped with a self-cleaning function. The process occurs without operator intervention when reverse is activated.

Threshing unit

The mechanism is designed to separate grains from the plant mass. The design of the unit includes:

  • threshing drum;
  • breaker beater;
  • straw walker;
  • blowing chamber;
  • storage bunker.

The first is represented by a cylindrical shell with a diameter of 800 and a length of 1485 mm. It operates in two speed modes: fast and slow. The rotation speed is controlled manually by the operator using a V-belt variator.

After the threshing drum, the collected mass goes to the straw walker and separator. There the grain is cleaned and fed into a storage bin with a capacity of 9 m³. The latter has 2 levels of filling alarm, informing the operator about the need to unload. It is worth saying that the rate of emptying the bunker by screw conveyors is 90 l/sec. Thanks to this, the combine is quickly unloaded without wasting a lot of downtime.
