One of the most reliable and frequently used bulldozers of the 10th traction class is the B10M. This model of equipment is reliable and has outstanding performance parameters. The main purpose is to work with soils of categories 1-3 without preliminary loosening, as well as category 4 with preparation for processing.
The B10M bulldozer is a tractor for cultivating soil and for solving a large number of different tasks at a construction site and when felling timber. The basis for the creation of this equipment is tractors such as T-10 and T-170. The main differences between the B10M and its prototypes are the following points:

Bulldozer B10M: history of creation
Tractors such as T-10 and T-170, despite their outstanding performance characteristics and other advantages, are obsolete. That is why at a certain moment there was a need for a more powerful analogue. It was the B10M bulldozer. This equipment was developed at the Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant - ChTZ.
industrial tractor T-170 was produced in the years 1988-2002. – also at ChTZ. At the moment, there are just under a hundred modifications of this tractor. Despite the fact that this model has ceased to be produced, it still continues to be used. Primarily due to the low price, as well as unpretentiousness.
An inexperienced eye may confuse the T-170 and the B10M bulldozer. Since when creating a newer tractor, the chassis from the T-170 was used. But that's actually where the similarities end. The B10M is equipped with more powerful engines and is also more productive. Immediately after the production of the T-170 ceased, the first B10M rolled off the production line.

YaMZ has more power and is easier to start, but at the same time fuel consumption is significantly higher. It should be remembered that there are significant differences in designs.

Cabin B10M. Bulldozer control
The technology in question uses a frame, rigid metal cabin. Its most significant advantage is the all-round visibility - 3600 around the car. The main features of the B10M workplace are the following:
- special heating installation, multi-mode - allows comfortable operation even in the Far North;
- in some models, an additional oil heater is installed for operation at critically low temperatures;
- A PILOT type driver's seat is installed (it is comfortable and vibration-proof).
On request, it is possible to additionally install special protection for the driver from objects falling from above. Which is especially convenient in conditions of forest felling and construction work.

It is possible to install a winch, the torque to which is transmitted through the power take-off shaft. Allows you to perform the following actions:

The new B10M bulldozer, the price of which in the minimum basic configuration is no less than 3.7 million rubles (compare with the price of the T130), is beyond the means of many small construction companies or artisanal artisans. Therefore, there is a steady demand for its seasonal rental.
It is all the more justified because the cost of owning a car with a hydromechanical transmission, which has greater performance and lower fuel consumption, is significantly lower than one with similar technical characteristics, but representing a well-known foreign brand.
Modifications of the bulldozer B10M
At the moment, only two modifications of the bulldozer in question are common. One is standard, the second is used in conditions of high humidity, in swamps. They differ not only in appearance, but also in layout and chassis. These models are marked as follows:
- B10M.0111-1E – standard basic modification;
- B10MB.0121-2B4 – modification for work in swamps.

- engine - YaMZ-326N-3 (a more powerful unit is required due to the use of equipment on soft soils);
- transmission is only mechanical;
- total number of track rollers – 7 pcs.;
- the engine is started using an electric starter;
- a pendulum tow hitch is always used at the rear;
- in the front part there is a mounted straight fixed shaft without hydraulic distortion - type “B”.
Visually, the B10M modifications differ from each other only in the presence of attachments included in the basic package. The usual model B10MB.0121-2B4 looks like this:

You can often find models B10PMB.0121-1B4 and B10PM.0101-EN on sale. The first is used to perform various tasks in marshy areas. The second one is specially designed to perform tasks at training grounds.

The design of the B10M bulldozer differs from the previous version by installing a higher power engine coupled with changed parameters of the fuel supply system.
To make the chassis last longer, seals are provided. They prevent oil from leaking out of the rollers. The track rollers located at the front are equipped with specific bearings. Some models provide an oil bath for braking and turning units. This innovation was called the “wet bridge,” which also made it possible to extend the operating time of the B10M bulldozer without the need for maintenance and repair. In addition, the maneuverability and reliability of the vehicle has become noticeably higher.

The B10M bulldozer has been in operation for more than 10 years in a row. During all this time, all its main advantages and disadvantages have been identified. The number of positive aspects is many times greater than the negative ones. But it is the shortcomings that you should pay the closest attention to before purchasing. Today these include the following:
- the D-180 type engine has a slightly shorter service life compared to a similar YaMZ one;
- for stable operation without critical breakdowns, it is necessary to change all consumables on time;
- In severe frost, hydraulic system hoses lose their elasticity and may burst - it is necessary to monitor their condition when working in the Far North.
Most often, problems arise with the servo drive of this type of bulldozer. Usually, oil begins to leak out from under the rod seal first. Moreover, in some cases, replacing the servo drive with a new one does not help. It would be possible to solve this kind of problem as follows:
- replacing the rubber ring near the servo rod seal;
- sometimes the diameter of the new oil seal on the rod will not match - earlier modifications had a smaller size (check the size with a bore gauge)
- check the pressure in the return system - if there is foam in the oil, the breather is clogged

The following problems also often arise when operating this bulldozer:
- low pressure level due to oil leakage from the hydraulic system through the seals;
- For some reason, air enters the hydraulic system;
- The hydraulic tank filter becomes clogged - this may result in swelling of the pipes.
Most problems can be avoided by timely replacement of filters, as well as other consumables. The most significant advantages include:
- ease of operation and repair - spare parts can be purchased both new and on the secondary market;
- low cost of repairs and the bulldozer itself;
- a large number of additional, attachments;
- the comfort of the driver’s cabin – its parameters comply with all current European standards.
Purpose
Special equipment is in demand at enterprises in the oil, gas, mining, and forestry industries. A bulldozer can often be found at construction sites or during land reclamation activities.
Without preliminary loosening, the device can cope with soils of categories I-III. The machine confidently works with sand, gravel, loam of any density or light clay.
When using a ripper, layer-by-layer digging of category IV soil (frozen soil of any composition) is possible. In addition, the machine is used when clearing snow debris - the maximum operating temperature is -50 °C.

Hydraulic system
Thanks to high-quality hydraulics, such equipment can operate under variable load conditions, reducing various power and dynamic loads in the transmission.
