It was also important that broad unification facilitated the operation of various equipment with the specified motors and increased maintainability.

Engine YaMZ 238M2

The successful design of the YaMZ 238 diesel engine made it possible to carry out numerous upgrades in order to improve technical parameters and create various modifications to complete numerous variants of machinery and equipment. Currently, the plant continues to produce 22 modifications of the 238 engine, including those with the M2 index.

The YaMZ 238M2 engine replaced the model with the “M” index in the production line and has been produced since 1988. The diesel power unit is characterized by the following main features:

  • a special device for the oil pan, which allows the operation of a diesel engine in conditions of increased roll and strong trim;
  • fuel supply system, made in a separate version with direct injection;
  • reduced oil consumption YaMZ 238M2;
  • lack of turbocharging;
