by the presence of a walk-behind tractor in a private household, because this technical device has been known since Soviet times. Thanks to him, it became possible to quickly and efficiently cultivate the soil , which previously took quite a long time and also took a lot of effort.
However, in order for your walk-behind tractor, as they say, to serve you faithfully, regularly plowing the ground and performing its other functions, you need to operate it correctly.
In particular, you need to know how much oil to pour into the gearbox of a walk-behind tractor so that it works in optimal mode, and its parts do not wear out due to the lack of necessary lubrication.
In principle, all the necessary information, as a rule, is indicated in the operating instructions for a specific walk-behind tractor model, where the brands and grades of recommended oils are directly indicated.
However, there are cases when a walk-behind tractor is purchased by hand or in another way, but the point is that such walk-behind tractors are supplied, basically, without any instructions.
A person may be at a loss, not knowing what kind of oil is poured into the gearbox of a walk-behind tractor, so it will be useful for him to know about its main types, as well as how to fill it into a walk-behind tractor.
Attachments for Husqvarna
Husqvarna walk-behind tractors, when combined with additional devices, perform a variety of agricultural work: cultivation, plowing, weeding of crops, hilling, cutting beds and furrows, mowing grass, sowing seeds.
Types of additional attachments for Husqvarna cultivators and walk-behind tractors, which are connected using a universal hitch: plow, trailer, adapter, various hillers, flat cutters, sowing kits, snow blower, cultivator legs. The following are connected via a belt drive: a mower, a motor pump, a generator, and a sprayer.

Plow
In addition, Husqvarna produces special attachments that can be combined with various models of cultivators: moss rake, edge cutter, scarifier, hiller plow with pneumatic wheels, snow blade, swing plow, edge leveler, weeding attachment.
Some models of Husqvarna walk-behind tractors are equipped with wheels that are installed instead of cutters. It is possible to purchase wheels as an option.

Husqvarna TF 338 walk-behind tractor in operation
Denis:
“When I read reviews on the forums about Husqvarna TF 338 walk-behind tractors, I came across a comparison that seemed to work like a beast. Now I can say so, it definitely works like a beast. Replaces several people. Now the virgin soil is not scary
It is important to install the cutters correctly. I immediately bought a potato digger, a snow blower and an adapter with a seat
There was no need for lug lugs, the machine itself is heavy and pulls normally. Gasoline consumption increases greatly when I transport heavy loads - 2.5 or even 3 liters can take.”
Anton:
“The Husqvarna walk-behind tractor operates on a plot of 37 acres. Excellent torque, cannot be compared with old gasoline models from other companies. Good build quality and the components themselves. Reasonable price, starts without problems. I haven't noticed any drawbacks yet. There are some nuances: it is inconvenient to fill the oil, it is difficult to find a suitable attachment. I'm looking for a plow for him. Overall I recommend it."
How to change the oil
In order for motorcycle equipment to function smoothly and serve for a long time, it is necessary to periodically replace the lubricant in the gearbox and engine. The first time this is done after break-in, and then after every 50-100 hours of operation of the motorcycle (under intense loads, “filling” will be required even more often), unless otherwise indicated by the manufacturer.
Changing the oil in the gearbox
To lubricate the gearbox, use any transmission oil, for example, TAD-17, TAP-15V or with other markings in accordance with GOST 23652-79. Before filling it, check for the presence of old fluid. If necessary, it must be changed after first checking the volume of the tank. Checking in walk-behind tractor models such as Neva is carried out as follows:
- The equipment is placed on a horizontal surface so that there is access to the gearbox, and the equipment itself is in an inclined position (this will make it more convenient to pour the product).
- Insert a probe into the hole on the gearbox (this can be a metal rod 65-70 cm long, bent into an arc) and use it to measure the level of presence of the substance.
If the dipstick immersed in the gearbox is 30 cm deep in the liquid, then there is no need to fill it additionally. If the results are different, the lubricant should be poured into the gearbox to the required level. You will need to pour at least 2 liters of lubricant into a completely dry gearbox.
Changing the engine oil
The procedure for replacing lubricant in the engine is as follows:
- The motor vehicle engine is started and warmed up.
- The walk-behind tractor is installed on an elevated horizontal surface.
- Open the tank drain hole to drain the contents into a separate container, and then close it tightly.
- Pour a new product through the filling hole, monitoring its level with a dipstick.
- Use a dry cloth to wipe the drain and fill holes, carefully removing any remaining lubricant.
Motor oil is not cheap, but you shouldn’t skimp on it, just like on fuel. You only need to fill in lubricant that is original and of high quality, since the performance of the walk-behind tractor, as well as the durability of its mechanisms, will depend on it. Only a high-quality product with correctly selected parameters can provide the most beneficial effect and ensure minimal wear on the internal parts of the engine. The instructions are suitable for such walk-behind tractors as Shtenli, Patriot, Tarpan, Cascade, Khoper, Agat, Oka, Luch, MTZ.

Attachments
With the help of attachments, you can not only speed up the work time on your site, but also carry out various types of work very easily. The following types of equipment are available for Husqvarna walk-behind tractors.
- Hiller - with the help of this device you can make furrows in the soil, which can later be used for planting various crops or for irrigation.
- Potato digger - helps harvest different root crops by separating them from the ground and maintaining their integrity.
- Plow - you can use it to plow the soil. Application is advisable in those places where milling cutters have failed, or in the case of cultivating unplowed land.
- Lugs - used instead of wheels to improve traction with the ground by cutting the blades into the ground, thereby moving the device forward.
- Wheels - come complete with the device, suitable for driving on hard ground or asphalt; in case of driving on snow, it is recommended to use tracks that are installed instead of wheels, thereby increasing the contact patch of the walk-behind tractor with the surface.
- Adapter - thanks to it, the walk-behind tractor can be transformed into a mini-tractor, where the operator can work while sitting.
- Milling cutters - used for digging earth of almost any complexity.
- Mowers – Rotary mowers work by rotating three blades to cut grass on sloped surfaces. There are also segment mowers, consisting of two rows of sharp “teeth” moving in a horizontal plane; they can cut even dense types of plants, but only on a flat surface.
- Snow removal attachments are a practical addition to your snow removal needs.
- An alternative to this could be a device - a shovel-blade. Due to the metal sheet placed at an angle, it can rake snow, sand, small crushed stone and other loose materials.
- Trailer - allows the walk-behind tractor to turn into a vehicle that transports loads weighing up to 500 kg.
- Weights – add weight to the unit, which facilitates cultivation and saves operator effort.

Disadvantages of a walk-behind tractor
The TF 338 model has a substantial size and heavy weight, which negatively affects maneuverability. In addition, it must be admitted that it will be easiest for physically trained people to operate such a walk-behind tractor. Modifications that do not have a worm gear are still offered on the market. This significantly reduces the functionality of the walk-behind tractor
For example, this version is not capable of moving in reverse. A walk-behind tractor equipped with a chain drive should be used with extreme caution. The fact is that a stone or other foreign object may get into the cutter
This can cause damage to the circuit, even to the point of failure.
