Specifications

Combine harvester claas tucano 560 business
The threshing drum of the combine has a diameter of 600 mm and a length of 1700 mm. Taking into account the yield and type of crop being harvested, the automation sets the optimal speed mode in the range of 395-1150 rpm. The concave coverage angle in the Claas Lexion 780 has been increased to 142 degrees.

Characteristics of working elements:

  • header width – from 4550 to 14000 mm (standard headers and Vario headers are used);
  • grain tank capacity – 13500 l;
  • unloading speed – 120 l/sec;
  • straw walker area – 7.48 sq.m.

The combine can lay straw in windrows as it moves or chop it, evenly distributing it over the mown surface in a strip up to 12,000 mm wide.

Similar, but slightly different

Both machines are universal grain harvesters designed to work on any cereal grain and leguminous crops. The lower yield threshold for both when combined with a 7.5 m header is 29-30 c/ha. Detailed specifications can be found on dealer websites. What you should pay attention to:

  • The Tucano 450 MSU consists of an accelerator drum, a threshing drum, a breaker beater, an electromechanically driven concave and a six-key straw walker with five stages.
  • The Acros 595 Plus MSU consists of a threshing drum with a reduction gear, a breaker beater, a concave with an electromechanical drive, an autonomous rotary-type post-threshing device and a five-key straw walker with seven stages.

The cars are comparable in terms of comfort. You won't notice much difference in either the finish or

in the configuration or in the equipment of the cabins. The pedals of one and the other - as always - are not located where you want them, and there is no platform for resting your feet, by the way. The only thing I want to note is that the control panel of the Rostov car is somehow clearer or more convenient - the buttons are right under the right hand. But the German controls for the most part through a touch monitor. It depends on you, but for me the buttons will be more reliable - here on an iPhone you just poke at the screen a hundred times before it works, so it’s unlikely that anything serious will happen from this failure, but harvesters are getting serious these days, it’s better not to take risks.

Design and service features

The appearance of the flagship of the Lexion series is slightly different from its “brothers”. The model received a steep front wall of the bunker, which increased in size. There are significantly fewer differences in design between modifications. The Claas Lexion 780 is based on an original four-link suspension, which contributes to stable performance in difficult working conditions and a reduced turning radius. The 2-speed gearbox was retained.

The Klaas Lexion 780 received an electro-hydraulic drive, which increased the speed performance of the model. The Power Trac all-wheel drive chassis and 67.4-inch wheels also help improve maneuverability and off-road capability. The drive wheels of the combine were made by analogy with other representatives of the line. They were a kind of caterpillar drive, where a rubber band was used as tracks. The steering wheels remain pneumatic with a pressure adjustment function.

Main working elements:

  • headers of various types (Standard, Vario, Cerio). In addition to the basic headers (category C), the combine could work with alternative modifications with smaller and larger grips. Additional devices used for harvesting oilseeds, fodder and seed crops were also offered. Thanks to the multifunctional coupling, equipment replacement was carried out in a short time;
  • threshing and separation system. The 1.7 meter threshing drum is equipped with the APS Hybrid System, which combines the powerful Roto Plus separation mechanism and the APS tangential threshing system. On-board electronics allow you to adjust the drum speed regardless of the rotor rotation parameters. The process is adjusted based on yield indicators, crop type and taking into account changing operating conditions. The system also allows for gentle threshing with high productivity. The threshing device is equipped with a pre-acceleration mechanism that increases operating efficiency. The combine performs residual grain separation with maximum efficiency due to increased grain feeding speed between concave and rotors and increased centrifugal force. This technology is relatively new for the Lexion series.
  • cleaning system. After the separator separates the grain and straw, other impurities are removed by means of a strong air flow coming from the fan. Cleaning efficiency is supported by a system of fine and coarse mesh. The 4D cleaning circuit has proven itself well on steep terrain and with high crop yields. When moving downwards, the air mass is automatically increased, when moving up - a reduction;
  • grain tank 13500 l. The productivity of the 4XL screw conveyor has been increased to 120 l/sec;
  • straw distribution system. The Claas Lexion 780 combine is equipped with new straw distributors that blow the chaff outward when it is placed in the windrow. The radial distributor, which ensures stable speed, remains unused. The equipment can operate in 2 modes: uniform distribution of straw across the width of the header in a thin layer or laying it in a windrow.

The developers did not forget about driver comfort. The combine received a large cabin and a special option that allows you to adjust the main working parts using hydraulics. Thus, the operator can install the radial distributor in 3 possible positions (windrowing, chopping, transport option) without leaving the cabin. Working with computer equipment has been significantly simplified. The Cemos mode optimization system provides the operator with recommendations regarding the reconfiguration of nodes without intermediate requests. The integration of the special Automatik assistance system improves the machine's handling.

To enhance comfort, the cabin features air conditioning, an adjustable steering column and a customizable driver's seat. Such options minimize operator fatigue during operation.

The combine is also equipped with a transport trolley, which has steering rear wheels and keeps the trail perfectly.

Claas Lexion 780 is a flagship model that requires specialized maintenance. The combine service intervals are extended, but they are quite expensive. It is the high cost of spare parts, material components and the difficulty of maintenance that are the main disadvantages of the model.

Series

Let's look at all the lines of Klaas combines that were supplied to us. But let's start with modern models and gradually move on to earlier models.

Lexion

Let's start with the Lexion line of combines. This line is divided into two series - Lexion 700 series and Lexion 600 series. Each series includes several models.

The use of an electro-hydraulic drive ensures high speed when moving the combine. At the same time, Lexion combines are equipped with the Terra Trac drive wheel system, which provides reduced ground pressure. In fact, the drive wheels of these combines are created like a caterpillar drive, only a rubber band acts as a caterpillar. But the steering wheels remained the same - pneumatic, equipped with a pressure regulation system.

The 700 series of Lexion combines consists of 3 models: 750, 760 and 770. Structurally they are the same, differing only in some parameters. The same series includes model 780 - released for the 100th anniversary of this manufacturer, but this model is not officially supplied to us, although “gray” dealers have it.

In October 2022, the updated TUCANO 580 grain harvester rolled off the Russian assembly line, replacing its predecessor TUCANO 480. Before this, the prototype was tested at the Kuban training farm in the Krasnodar region. The main objective of the tests, in which the new and old TUCANO models took part, was to compare their main performance indicators when harvesting under absolutely identical conditions.

Both combine models were used to harvest Yuka wheat. The distance covered was 1240 m, which, with a header width of 7.8 m, amounted to almost one hectare of processed area. The productivity of the new TUCANO 580 model was higher by 18.7%, amounting to 35.5 t/hour. At the same time, fuel consumption decreased by 13.3% from 1.96 kg/t to 1.70 kg/t. The total productivity of TUCANO 580 for an 8-hour shift, taking into account the time for turns, unloading and downtime, was 22.74 t/hour.

Among the updates introduced to the TUCANO 580 is the installation of a rotor with a diameter of 570 mm, which is driven steplessly by the CVT directly from the cabin during operation in the range from 480 to 920 rpm. This ensures high separation intensity and guarantees good grain quality. The ability to mechanically adjust the opening of the rotor damper helps to adapt the separation area to different cleaning conditions and thereby achieve maximum throughput. The grain tank has been increased to 9000 l, which, with productivity increased by a third to 105 l/s, can be unloaded in just two minutes. Let us remind you that the TUCANO model range was updated in 2014. Since October 2022, all updated models of the 300th, 400th and 500th series have entered mass production in Krasnodar.

Transmission

The power of the power unit with minimal torque losses is used to drive the chassis and activate threshing and separating equipment with a productive APS accelerator.

  • The threshing system includes a drum with a diameter of 450 mm and a width of 1580 mm and a ROTO PLUS key type separator.
  • The rotation speed of the threshing drum is adjustable in the range of 650-1500 rpm; when the reduction gear is turned on, this figure decreases to 280-1500 rpm. The sieve area is within 5.62 m2.
  • Cleaned grain is dumped into a 9 m3 hopper equipped with a productive (105 l/sec) unloading screw conveyor.

APS threshing system. TUCANO 580/570/560/450/440/430.

Our patented threshing system offers increased productivity and consistent power. The threshing drum also provides a decisive advantage. Thanks to the accelerator, the material flow speed increases from 3 to 20 m/s. To learn more…

Unique APS threshing system. TUCANO 580/570/560/450/440/430.

Innovative CLAAS technologies already operate in front of the threshing drum. Significant acceleration of the grain mass flow from 3 to 20 m/s ensures maximum efficiency of all subsequent processes:

  • Thanks to the pre-accelerator, the plant mass is separated more efficiently;
  • The flow of plant matter becomes more uniform and moves 33% faster;
  • More efficient grain separation due to increased centrifugal force;
  • Up to 30% of all grains are separated already in the preliminary concave located under the accelerator, which significantly reduces the load on the main deck.

A 20% increase in productivity with the same fuel consumption is the main benefit of the APS system.

Universal pre-concave.

Pre-deck in the form of a universal MULTICROP design for harvesting various crops. Quick change of 3 segments to reduce retooling time and cost efficiency.

Hydraulic deck adjustment

The concave is adjusted hydraulically from the operator's seat, which allows you to comfortably and quickly adapt the work to the threshing conditions that change throughout the day. At the same time, parallel running of the concave ensures optimal threshing quality.

Long threshing path, large grain separation area.

In the APS thresher from CLAAS, the specialists have succeeded in extending the main concave around the threshing drum much further than in traditional models. Such an angle – 151° – has never been seen anywhere before. Benefit from gentle threshing technology based on large concave clearance and low drum speed combined with reduced fuel consumption.

A convincing combination: APS HYBRID SYSTEM. TUCANO 580/570/560.

The APS HYBRID SYSTEM threshing system from CLAAS is a combination of two efficient technologies: the APS tangential threshing system and the high-performance separation system ROTO PLUS.

A unique combination with undeniable advantages:

  • Adaptation of the drum rotation speed in the threshing system regardless of the rotor speed;
  • Adjusting the workflow in accordance with changing conditions during the day;
  • Gentle threshing with maximum productivity.

Only CLAAS has been able to combine both systems in one for maximum performance.

ROTO PLUS – high performance. TUCANO 580/570/560.

The operating principle of the ROTO PLUS rotary separation system is simple but effective. The APS threshing beater feeds the mass to the rotor. The rotation of the rotor provides a powerful centrifugal force, under the influence of which the remaining grain is effectively separated.

Rotor variator for stepless speed control.

For maximum flexibility throughout the day or adaptation to different crops, the speed is infinitely adjustable in CEBIS from 920 to 480 rpm. This allows you to influence the quality of the straw in a matter of seconds, for example if the straw is intended for harvesting. Also, at low speeds in dry conditions, the load on the sieve from short straw can be reduced. If full machine performance is required, the rotor speed is simply increased again.

Step drive.

The machines can also be equipped with a step drive with eight rotor speeds.

Rotor speed (rpm)975850750650552478425365

Mechanical rotor plates.

To flexibly change the rotor separation area, the first and second concave can be covered with plates. The adjustment lever is located in an easily accessible location on the left side of the machine. You can close both or only the first concave. In very dry conditions, this allows you to reduce the load on the sieve, and in humid conditions, use a larger separation area to effectively separate residual grain. The result: variable rotor separation area ensures maximum performance in all operating conditions.

Sixth concave.

To increase productivity, the separation system of TUCANO 580 and 570 has been improved. An additional sixth concave under the rotor increases the separation area and improves efficiency compared to the TUCANO 560 with five concave units.

Classic threshing unit. TUCANO 340 / 320.

Threshing and separation: in these areas, high-quality MSU should always be at its best – in all conceivable conditions. The classic CLAAS threshing unit provides convincing proof of this again and again. No matter what challenge is thrown at it: its versatility is clearly demonstrated both in the full threshing drum width of 1.58 m (TUCANO 340) and in the width of 1.32 m (TUCANO 320).

  • Easy access to the drum from the front through an inclined conveyor or from both sides through large hatches;
  • High operational reliability thanks to the extremely robust design of all drives, especially the threshing drum drive.

From beans to clover seeds: the MULTICROP deck adapts to any crop.

The MULTICROP deck located under the threshing drum allows individual sections to be easily replaced. You can quickly adapt the deck to a wide range of crops, varieties and maturity levels - resulting in the optimal combination of clean threshing, gentle product handling and high separation efficiency.

NEW: preparatory bottom made of polymer.

The preparatory bottom conveys the separated grains from the threshing system and from the ramp to the upper sieve and at the same time provides the first preliminary sorting into grain and chaff. When working with very wet material or in the presence of a large proportion of greenery, the preparation floor is subjected to high stress. For inspection and cleaning, individual segments can be pulled forward through the stone trap. This ensures uniform loading of the cleaning system.

Hydraulic deck adjustment and overload protection.

On TUCANO 340 and 320 models, the distance to the deck is set in the CEBIS system. Hydraulic overload protection is also suitable for protecting a conventional thresher from damage by foreign objects and from jamming.

Hydraulic adjustment of the concave outlet section.

To adapt the machine to different types of crops, the concave outlet section can be installed in two positions: wide – for example, for corn or beans, narrow – for grains. Adjustment is carried out by turning the valve at the cabin door.

Classic separation. TUCANO 450 / 440 / 430 / 340 / 320.

Grain here, straw there: the straw flows evenly through the 4.40 m long straw walker, which is open at the bottom, ensuring the reliable release of virtually all residual grain. A separate pitch board guides it towards the shake board. This system allows even large volumes of straw to be processed quickly and easily.

Resistance is futile. Dehairing agent CLAAS.

Above each straw walker key, two rakes with a lever drive are located one behind the other, which, actively loosening the straw from above, contribute to its distribution in a thin layer and uniform passage through the straw walker. The result: the residual grain is easily released from the straw and falls through the straw walker cover onto the pitch board.

Capacity control is the key to maximum productivity.

You can monitor the separation and cleaning process as easily as if you were watching it in a mirror: right from the cab with the CLAAS Throughput Monitor. It demonstrates high accuracy of display and settings and automatically adapts to crops of varying complexity.

Advantages:

  • Thanks to the possibility of parallel monitoring, you can quickly optimize the parameters of the cleaning and separation processes;
  • The throughput control system shows the optimal speed of the machine during threshing;
  • Feel confident even when working at peak productivity.

NEW: Pure performance.

Clean grain in the grain bin and easy adjustment of the cleaning system is the desire of any machine operator. To achieve this, we have optimized the cleaning system of the entire TUCANO series, and also modified the lower sieve and its oscillation angle. The result: clean grain, less material in the product, easy adjustment.

NEW: 50% larger grain auger.

We increased the diameter of the grain auger by 50% and strengthened the drive. Thanks to this, even with a high corn harvest, TUCANO has reserves to achieve maximum productivity.

Centrifugal fan or turbine.

  • A 6/4-turbine or centrifugal fan will ensure uninterrupted flow and uniform distribution of air even with uneven loading of the working sieve;
  • Forced air supply will prevent the formation of a thick layer of mass;
  • Stable flow even with low air flow;
  • Possibility of smooth adjustment from the cab.

Preparatory bottom.

The preparatory bottom is used for preliminary sorting of the mass: the grains fall down, and the straw and chaff are sent up. This allows you to reduce the load on the upper sieve and improve the quality of cleaning. To clean the preparation bottom, all six polymer segments are dismantled forward.

Single or double cascade.

  • Significant reduction in the load on the upper sieve;
  • Increased productivity, especially with dry and brittle straw.

Electric adjustment of sieves.

Developed by CLAAS, copied by competitors. Electronic sieve adjustment from the cab:

  • Precise control;
  • Simple and convenient;
  • Without having to leave the cab.

3D cleaning

  • Dynamic slope compensation – active control of the upper sieve;
  • Full preservation of performance when working on slopes with a roll of up to 20%;
  • Wear-free and maintenance-free design;
  • Easy and quick retrofitting;
  • In combination with AUTO CONTOUR - the ideal package for working on slopes.

10,000 l. More room for great grain.

To ensure high productivity, the TUCANO 580, 570 and 450 models are equipped with a grain tank with a capacity of 10,000 liters. It has sufficient capacity for harvesting large fields.

High unloading performance.

TUCANO series combines are equipped with a top unloading system with a capacity of up to 105 l/s. Thanks to this, unloading the grain tank takes less than two minutes. In addition, TUCANO has an increased overload height and width. This allows even large vehicles to be loaded without problems. Accordingly, suitable unloading augers are available for header widths up to 9.22 m.

NEW: continuous fill level display.

When measuring volume in a grain elevator, a photocell monitors the filling of each blade. The resulting value is continuously displayed in CEBIS - this allows the use of the Fleet View application.

CEBIS rear view camera.

CEBIS rear view camera image

PROFI CAM image on an additional monitor

Everything is under control with Profi Cam

All TUCANO models can be equipped with a PROFI CAM camera installed at the end of the unloading auger. Thanks to the location of the camera in this particular place, control of three processes at once is ensured using an additional color monitor in the cabin or via the S10 terminal:

  • Retracted unloading auger: process of unloading the hopper;
  • Folded unloading auger: rear of machine when reversing or driving on roads;
  • Folded unloading auger: distribution of the crushed mass.

In total, up to four video cameras can be connected to the system, synchronously transmitting the image to a color monitor or S10 terminal in the combine cabin.

CEBIS rear view camera.

The rear view camera, installed on the rear bonnet of the separation system, transmits the image directly to the CEBIS screen when the TUCANO is reversing.

Chop briefly and distribute evenly.

From the rotors, the straw is fed into the chopper for fine cutting and even distribution over the set working width. Next, the chaff passes through a sieve into a heavy-duty distributor, which scatters it across the field in an even layer. At the same time, the spreading width can be easily adjusted.

NEW: Electrical adjustment of the rotor guide plate in the TUCANO 500.

The chopper loading and the roller shape can be changed using an electrically adjustable guide plate installed at the rotor outlet. Depending on the humidity and properties of the straw, the mass flow is always fed as close to the middle as possible. This is the only way to achieve uniform distribution in the shredder. When laying windrows, the width of the windrow can be adjusted by adjusting the rotor guide plate. When the rotor guide plate is fully retracted, the windrow width will be maximized for best straw drying and even feeding into the baler across the entire width of the pick-up.

SPECIAL CUT.

For all models of the TUCANO series, a SPECIAL CUT chopper is supplied instead of a STANDARD CUT. The chopper is switched on and off electro-hydraulically using a sensor when the position of the guide plate changes. SPECIAL CUT features a 30% increase in the number of knives. 80 – in TUCANO 580/570 and in combines with six straw walkers (450/440/340), 68 – in combines with five straw walkers (430/320) and TUCANO 560. The special streamlined design of the body promotes uniform supply of straw. This ensures low energy consumption and high-quality straw spreading. The material is then fed into the ACTIVE SPREADER or straw distribution hood.

Full width distribution: ACTIVE SPREADER (TUCANO 580/570/560/450/440/340).

The larger the straw volume and the width of the header, the more accurately and evenly the straw must be distributed. The ACTIVE SPREADER system from CLAAS provides the required quality and precision.

The plant mass is fed through two counter-rotating rotors, accelerated and evenly distributed over a given working width of up to 9.3 m. The operator can set the laying direction directly from the cab.

The TUCANO combine provides efficient straw distribution with minimal fuel consumption. The ACTIVE SPREADER and SPECIAL CUT systems are presented for the first time in combines of this class, giving TUCANO a clear leadership in the upper middle segment.

NEW: SPECIAL CUT for corn harvesting, factory equipped.

The TUCANO 500 comes factory equipped with a SPECIAL CUT chopper for harvesting corn.

INCREASED ENGINE POWER WITH HIGHER PROFITABILITY.

Strength and endurance without compromise.

Enlarged cooling system with automatic dust extraction.

The TUCANO combine is equipped with a highly efficient single cooling system for the engine, hydraulics and air conditioning. Enlarging the radiator compartment has significantly improved cooling efficiency. Automatic dust extraction ensures constant cleaning of the rotating radiator compartment and optimal cooling while protecting the working panels from contamination.

NEW: air intake system and air filter.

The air intake for the engine in the new TUCANO occurs behind the rotating radiator mesh. Thanks to pre-separation, the amount of dirty particles entering the two air filters is reduced. The filter capacity is designed to meet the needs of the new engine and has been significantly increased. These key improvements provide significantly longer maintenance intervals and reduced downtime.

4-TRAC all-wheel drive.

The TUCANO's hydrostatic transmission - clutchless, shiftless - is easily controlled using the multifunction joystick. This user-friendly control design immediately improves productivity by enabling faster turns and adjusting travel speed to suit changing operating conditions. Additional option: all-wheel drive. With a simple press of a button, you can turn on increased power, which will allow you to move forward with confidence, even in the most difficult conditions. All-wheel drive is absolutely reliable and does not require maintenance.

30% increase in traction on an all-wheel drive axle.

The new all-wheel drive axle is equipped with two central hydraulic motors, which are built into the axle and are characterized by significantly increased efficiency. The built-in design reduces the number of lines on the outside. Less dirt accumulates in high humidity conditions, minimizing the risk of damage to the hydraulic motor.

Enlarged tires for all-wheel drive axle.

To further increase grip in difficult conditions and reduce ground pressure, tire sizes 600/65 R 28 or VF 620/70 R 26 (TUCANO 580/570/450/440) are available. Both options can be combined with some 800 mm wide tyres.

Centralized lubrication system.

Thanks to the central lubrication system, almost all lubrication points are automatically supplied with the required amount of lubricant. You only need to specify the lubrication points and intervals once. Unlike manual lubrication of individual points, the lubricant is supplied from a central reservoir to the individual lubrication points.

Advantages:

  • Reliable and controlled on-the-fly lubrication of all lubrication points;
  • Increased service life of bolts and bearings;
  • Cost savings due to lower lubricant consumption and wear;
  • Reduced maintenance costs.
