When it comes to manufacturers of mini tractors, it is already common to hear entirely foreign names: Husqvarna, Stiga, SEP, Shibaurna, Makita. Why? Where are the Russian-made mini tractors? Has the market been taken over by the Germans, Japanese and Chinese?
Let's face it, it's not easy for Russian manufacturers. The Germans are famous for their quality, the Japanese for their reliability, and the Chinese for their cheapness and wide range. In such conditions, it is extremely difficult to stay in the market and win back “your” consumer. However, domestic manufacturers of mini tractors also have trump cards.
Firstly, any foreign small-sized equipment is more expensive than domestic equipment. Some of these units cost tens of thousands of dollars, which, for obvious reasons, is completely unaffordable for most Russians. Well, and secondly, in terms of operational endurance, not a single foreign device can be compared with the “native”, domestic one. Only in Russia can a private plot of land be a couple of hectares in size. And only in Russia, a tractor, even if it is small, must be able to dig, plant, harrow, mow, harvest... The amount of work that “farming in Russian” provides, alas, is beyond the capabilities of most foreign machines, which are destined for lawns and lawns.
That's why today we'll talk about Russian-made mini tractors. Let's compare manufacturers and prices, analyze technical characteristics and try to determine whether Russian mini tractors have a future, and are they waiting for us abroad?
Mini tractor Ussuriyets from OJSC “Ussuri Automobile Repair Plant”
The Ussuri Automobile Repair Plant began producing vehicles under the Ussuriets brand relatively recently - at the end of 2010. Then the development of the Russian mini tractor was carried out with the support of the Chinese tractor concern, which transferred its design experience and engineering solutions. As of the beginning of 2016, the plant produces 18 versions of the mini tractor.
The lowest-power model is the TS 18DB - 24 horsepower. Its wheel size is 14/20. The equipment has a 2WD drive and a rear power take-off shaft. The company's most powerful mini tractor, the SWT 854, boasts 85 horsepower, a cab and 24/34 wheels.
The presence of a huge number of modifications and a large number of attachments makes the tractors of this plant suitable for any type of work. In addition, delivery of spare parts is possible to all regions of Russia.
Mini tractor ChTZ T 0.2.03 from
ChTZ T 0.2.03 is a Russian-made wheeled-tracked mini tractor. The company positions it as equipment intended for work in agriculture and housing and communal services. Depending on the type of engine, the power of a minitractor can range from 12 to 16 horsepower. The features of the tractor include a 6-speed transmission: one gear for reverse and five for forward. Overall dimensions are 320*140.3*210.6 centimeters.
When purchasing a mini tractor in the initial configuration, a bulldozer blade and a rotary brush are included in the load. The cabin is equipped with a panoramic view, a heated seat, and an additional lighting system. But the main feature of the mini tractor is the ability to switch from wheels to tracks by installing a chain on top of them. The transition from tracks to wheels can be accomplished by one person, and takes approximately 30-45 minutes. Unfortunately, this model is frozen and not produced for an indefinite period of time, but it can be purchased used.
However, based on this mini-tractor, they continue to produce the T 0.2.03 KD modification, which is designed to carry out repair work and acts as a mobile repair module. The main feature is the fact that the minitractor has a hydraulic system that includes two circuits. Thanks to the first circuit, it becomes possible to connect hydraulic equipment such as jackhammers, welding units and other tools of a static and dynamic nature. The presence of a second circuit allows the crane to operate (controlled via a remote control), the lifting capacity of which does not exceed 250 kilograms. Experts consider the presence of an additional light installation for carrying out work in the dark, as well as the presence of brackets, thanks to which the installation of manipulators necessary for utility workers occurs without unnecessary effort, as a big plus.
Mini tractor Uralets from Traktor LLC
This mini tractor has deep Chinese roots, as it is essentially a slightly modified Xingtai. The Uralets mini tractor model range consists of 3 modifications. The weakest, Uralets 160, has a diesel engine with 16 horsepower. The weight of this tractor is 900 kg, so it is not suitable for deep plowing. The more powerful Uralets 180 has an engine with 18 horsepower and a weight of 940 kilograms.
The most powerful model is the Uralets 220, which has a power of 22 horsepower and a weight of 960 kilograms. The dimensions of the model are 253*120*175 centimeters. The tractor has 6 forward and 2 reverse gears. Engine cooling is water. The front wheels are 12 inches and the rear wheels are 20 inches. In addition to the standard equipment for this model, it is possible to purchase a differential lock. It is possible to buy a huge amount of attachments, including harrows, carts, plows and moldboards. Judging by the characteristics, the latest model has the highest prospects on the market.
Review of the Uralets mini tractor
A new brand with an old filling is Uralets, produced by Traktor LLC.
Russian-made minitractors “Uralets” 220, 180 and 160, like the previous model, take roots in Chelyabinsk. The manufacturer, Traktor LLC, merged in 2010 with Interagro LLC, which for a long time was the official distributor of Chinese small-sized tractor equipment. This long-term cooperation first led to the joint production of the Xingtai XT-120, XT-140, XT-200 and XT 220 minitractors, and since 2011 to the launch of their own line of Uralets minitractors, which are like two peas in a pod like their Chinese brothers. By the way, they are assembled at the same plant in China.
There are three tractors in the basic line. “Uralets” 160 is the weakest of the presented models. Its vertical diesel engine produces only 16 hp. With a traction force of 3.5 kN, the mini tractor weighs about 900 kg. which, of course, is not enough for serious, deep plowing. The 160th, like all Ural vehicles, has 4 forward gears, 2 reverse gears, and is equipped with a PTO. The extended configuration includes a rear hitch, a set of wheel weights and a battery with a set of wires in addition to the conventional hydraulic suspension system. If desired, the manufacturer supplies dual wheels and low-profile tires.
“Uralets” 180 is already equipped with a 2-cylinder 18-horsepower diesel engine TY-290. It has a higher hook pull of 3.7 kN and a weight of 940 kg. Roll bars can be installed as additional options.
In turn, the Uralets 220 already has 22 hp and a weight of 960 kg. and hook traction force 3.9 kN. In addition to everything that the manufacturer offers as standard, a differential lock can be ordered. This is the newest and most promising model among the Ural vehicles. However, the plant does not forget about its veterans - 160th and 180th. There is now a program under which the manufacturer buys back mini tractors of old models and offers a discount on new, patented equipment.
Mini tractor KMZ 012 from Kurganmashzavod
This model is a true veteran, as it has been on the market for more than 10 years. During this time, the tractor has changed for the better, thanks to changes in engines. Recently, 14-horsepower gasoline engines and 15-horsepower diesel engines have been produced. The undoubted advantage of the KMZ 012 is the presence of 2 power take-off shafts, 2 hitches, as well as 23 types of attachments, which significantly expands the scope of application of the mini tractor. The Russian-made minitractor KMZ 012 is a universal type, well suited for work in the municipal, construction, transport and, of course, agricultural sectors. The manufacturer recommends using it for work on land up to 5 hectares, work related to making hay, harvesting root crops, and maintaining the territory.
High ground clearance, long service life - this is how the owners describe the mini tractor. A folding seat provides easy access to the tank and battery, and a hinged hood provides easy access to the engine. The dimensions of this miracle are 231*96*204 centimeters, and the weight ranges from 697 to 780 kilograms. Unfortunately, this mini tractor is not currently in production, but there are many offers on the secondary market.
Advantages and disadvantages
Multifunctionality – thanks to the wide variety of power units used
Mini tractor
Mini tractors, which have an inscription in their passport stating that their country of origin is Russia, have both their advantages and disadvantages.
The main advantages of domestic technology are:
- Multifunctionality - thanks to the wide variety of power units used, this type of small-scale mechanization equipment can be used to perform a large number of jobs: from traditional agricultural to municipal, construction and even transport and logistics;
- Simplicity of repair and maintenance - repairs of simple Russian models, with the exception of cases covered by warranty, can be performed by almost any owner who understands motorcycle equipment;
- Availability of a large number of spare parts - if during repairs the need arises to replace any component, purchasing it will not become a significant difficulty for the owner of the mini tractor. At the moment, all manufacturers of this equipment have many service centers and stores where you can purchase or order the necessary spare parts at an affordable price. Therefore, even if you are in a small town, such as Ulyanovsk, you can easily find a dealer or center selling spare parts for any domestic mini tractor;
- A large selection of mounted and trailed units - on the modern market, for almost every small Russian-assembled tractor you can find attachments of varying price and quality: a mounted plow, a mower, a rotary tiller (milling cutter), etc.
Among the few disadvantages are:
Poor quality assembly
- Poor quality assembly - very often a new and fairly cheap mini tractor often begins to break down due to poor quality assembly of its engine or other components.
- Lack of power steering on powerful tractors - on some productive and powerful models, a conventional mechanical type of steering is installed. The absence of a hydraulic booster is felt when the vehicle turns and moves at low speed.
- Unreliable paint coating - peeling of paint, bubbles and “bugs” that appear when applying paint to unprepared metal surfaces of the frame, hood, lead to the development of corrosion on them with the further formation (if measures are not taken) of holes.
Thus, by typing the query “RF minitractor” into a search engine, you can find a wide variety of models of this equipment, differing in their characteristics and cost. At the same time, some of the shortcomings of these small-scale mechanization tools are more than compensated for by their affordable price, compared to more expensive imported mini tractors.
