Shehwa HBXG TY165-2 represents the second generation of popular Chinese bulldozers from Xuanhua Construction Machinery Co (XCMC). The model belongs to traction class 10 and is comparable in characteristics to Komatsu D65, Caterpillar D6, ChTZ B10 and Shantui SD16 machines.

The large Chinese bulldozer looks like a Caterpillar product. The similarity is not only apparent on the outside. The XCMC company produces its products according to original Caterpillar drawings, which allows them to produce high-quality and cheap equipment at the same time. The brand has been producing bulldozer equipment since 1950; currently Shehwa machines make up 30% of the bulldozer fleet in China. The manufacturer also actively exports its products to other countries. In 1998, the XCMC plant received a certificate of compliance with ISO 9001, which indicates the high quality of the machines it produces.

Shekhva equipment arrived on the Russian market about 5 years ago. The first deliveries took place to regions located near China. The use of Shehwa bulldozers in difficult conditions has shown that in terms of service life they are preferable to their Russian counterparts. The chassis of the vehicle served up to 12,500 operating hours, segments, wheel guides, tracks, rollers - up to 10,000 operating hours. At the same time, in terms of the cost of components and spare parts, the Chinese product was practically no different from its Russian “classmates”. Undercarriage components were interchangeable with Caterpillar undercarriage.

Shekhva HBXG TY165-2 is one of the most popular models of traction class 10. The equipment is actively used in mining, forestry, mining, oil production and construction.

Modifications and features

Shehwa HBXG TY165-2 was created based on the experience of using the previous generation - the Shehwa TY165-1 model. In comparison with the first generation (type TY160), the equipment has the following features:

• reinforced final drives designed for increased loads. Improvements have made it possible to significantly increase the service life of the chassis;
• Updated long-stroke blade lift cylinders, replacing short-stroke hydraulic cylinders, improved blade penetration into the ground and reduced the overall load on the hydraulic system. For the same purpose, the mounting axis was moved to the area in front of the radiator;
• increased diameter of the gearbox and friction discs. Due to this solution, the service life has increased significantly.

The Shekhwa HBXG TY165-2 in the export version was characterized by reliability, ease of operation and efficiency. In comparison with other Chinese bulldozers, the model looked preferable in all respects.

The machine has a certificate of conformity of the Russian Federation. It comes with a 12 month or 1500 hour engine warranty.

In 2014, the XCMC plant began producing the third generation of the family (HBXG TY165-3) with better technical characteristics, and the HBXG TY165-2 version was discontinued.

The 2014 HBXG TY165-2 SHEHWA bulldozer produced by official dealers is supplied in the “EXPORT” version, in a special configuration and special color for export bulldozers.

Description : Bulldozer 10 traction class SHEHWA TY165-2 belongs to the second generation of Chinese bulldozers (buldozers similar in characteristics are D6 Caterpillar, T-130, T-170, B10 ChTZ, T-11 Chetra, Promtractor, D65 Komatsu, Shantui SD16).

HBXG TY165-2 is the only second-generation Chinese bulldozer in the 10th traction class (type TY160 first generation). It was created by the design bureau of the state-owned plant HBXG, taking into account the operating experience of the previous model TY165-1.

In comparison with the first generation Chinese bulldozers type TY160 (which includes bulldozers SHANTUI SD16, PengPu PD160, HUANGGONG ZD160 - also known as ZOOMLION) and others, the HBXG bulldozer type TY165-2 has the following main advantages:

- larger diameter of the gearbox, correspondingly larger diameter of the friction discs, twice the service life (service life before replacing friction and antithesis discs in the gearbox);

- reinforced final drives of bulldozers TY165-2 (second generation) and TY165-3 (generation 2+) are designed for greater loads than the final drives of Chinese bulldozers of the first generation type TY160 (bulldozers SD16, PD160, ZD160 and other Chinese bulldozers of the first generation) and significantly longer service life (12,000–15,000 operating hours, versus 3,500–6,000 for type TY160);

— instead of short-stroke hydraulic cylinders, modern long-stroke blade lift cylinders were installed, with the mounting axis located in front of the radiator, which significantly improved the penetration of the blade into the ground and reduced the load on the hydraulic system of the working equipment.

The HBXG TY165-2 SHEHWA bulldozer is made according to the classic design: the power plant is in front, the final drives are in the rear, the gearbox and gas turbine engine are located under the cab. The HBXG TY165-2 bulldozer is equipped with a hydromechanical transmission (HMT) - 3 forward speeds, 3 reverse speeds, gear shifting is carried out under load. The inclusion of a torque converter (GTR) in the transmission simplified the control of the bulldozer, increased the transmitted torque, reduced the load on the engine and gearbox, which had a positive effect on the reliability and durability of the entire structure. The presence of a GTR in the transmission allows the bulldozer to be used by inexperienced operators and allows for quick and easy control training.

Engine: The HBXG TY165-2 SHEHWA bulldozer is equipped with a 6-cylinder in-line diesel engine WD10G178E15, equipped with a turbocharger and corresponding to the STAGE-2 (TIER-II) environmental class. The WD10G diesel engine was developed in the 90s by STEYR (Austria), the license for production in China belongs to Weichai Power. Until 2009, the engine was labeled as WD615 - a very common engine in the Russian Federation (modifications of the WD10G engine are equipped with most special equipment, bulldozers and trucks produced in China). The engine manufacturer, WEICHAI POWER, guarantees an operating life of 30,000 hours before the first major overhaul, which is confirmed by operating experience and statistics. The WD10G178E engine (ecological class 2) is unpretentious to the quality of diesel fuel, is equipped with an injection pump and nozzles that allow the use of diesel fuel, environmental class Euro-0. The engine has a maximum power of 131 kW (178 hp), torque of 870 Nm at 1200–1300 rpm, fuel consumption does not exceed 214 g kW/hour, and provides the bulldozer with a high traction force of 139.6 kN.

Operation: Statistics from 9 years of operation of HBXG TY165-2 SHEHWA bulldozers in various climatic conditions in Russia showed that in terms of reliability and service life of chassis and transmission elements, the second generation bulldozer HBXG TY165-2 is superior to both domestic equipment and products of private tractor factories China. In conditions in which bulldozers with a manual transmission fail, HBXG TY165-2 bulldozers cope with the load through the use of a torque converter. The service life of tracks, rollers, segments, and idler wheels, depending on operating conditions and soils, is 5,000–10,000 operating hours, which is a fairly good result for bulldozers in this price category. Application: This is the most popular bulldozer of the 10th traction class in terms of its operational and technical characteristics. It is used in construction, mining, gold mining, forestry and land reclamation, oil and gas production. Work performed: hydrowashing, leveling work, stripping work, moving cargo, loosening soil up to category IV inclusive, etc. As of the end of 2013, about 700 HBXG TY165-2 bulldozers in various modifications are in operation in Russia.

Advantages: the second generation bulldozer HBXG TY165-2 SHEHWA in the “EXPORT” version, produced by the state-owned HBXG tractor plant, has excellent reliability and a long service life, compared to the Chinese first generation bulldozers (type TY160), provides high performance for its class. Note: the HBXG bulldozer type TY165-2 was discontinued at the end of 2014, it was replaced by the modernized bulldozer TY165-3 with higher performance characteristics.

Chassis

The welded structure used on the Shehwa TY165 2 undercarriage crawler bulldozer is made up of thick steel sheets and large-diameter thick-walled pipes. It is connected to the support rollers located on the bottom plate through stamped holes. Twelve road wheels and four support rollers each have two sets of “floating” seals, consisting of two “floating” rings and two round seals, designed to protect against dirt ingress and retain factory lubrication. The individual links, each 203 mm long, are assembled into a track 1860 mm wide, the total area of ​​which provides the bulldozer pressure on the soil within 69.6 kPa. Shehwa HBXG TY165-2 was rightfully considered one of the company's most successful products. Cases of failure were extremely rare even under heavy loads. It is the reliability and high technical characteristics that allowed the bulldozer to remain among the leaders in its class for a long time.

DEVICE

The Shehwa HBXG TY165-2 model uses a welded structure consisting of large-diameter thick-walled pipes and thick steel sheets. The main beam, where the hydraulic cylinders are attached, has special stiffening ribs. A balancing beam with 3 semi-rigid connection units is used as a suspension, which allows you to work with heavy loads. The idler wheel and rollers are equipped with high-strength final drives.

A hydromechanical transmission is responsible for optimizing the distribution of loads on the frame and controlling movement. The ride quality and long service life of this element are due to the use of a large-diameter gearbox and a drive with a torque converter. The latter divides the selected force into mechanical and hydraulic components. The gearbox has a single lever shift, due to which changing the direction of movement and selecting speed is performed with one lever.

The hydraulic system uses 2 groups of gear pumps, spool valves and long-stroke cylinders. Due to this, better distribution of forces and control accuracy are achieved. The pressure in the system is 12 MPa.

Shehwa HBXG TY165-2 is equipped with a hexagonal cabin with an adjustable driver's seat and panoramic glazing. The casing is made of high-quality material with high noise and heat insulation. A fan is used to maintain a normal microclimate.

Engine

For the Shehwa HBXG TY165-2, a 4-stroke in-line diesel unit model WD10G178E15, equipped with turbocharging, liquid cooling and meeting TIER-II (STAGE-2) environmental standards, was selected. The WD10G engine is a development of the Austrian company STEYR. Its debut took place in the 1990s, after which Weichai Power received a license for its production in China. Until 2009, the motor was known as WD615 and was supplied to Russia as an integral part of various equipment from the Middle Kingdom.

Model WD10G178E15 is reliable. The manufacturer claims an engine life of 30,000 hours before the first overhaul. Another advantage of the unit is its unpretentiousness to fuel quality, which is especially important for Russian operating conditions. The unit is also equipped with special nozzles and fuel injection pump. Starting is carried out by an electric starter, the valves are located vertically.

HBXG Shehwa ty165-3 is a bulldozer of the 10th traction class. The model is the third generation of the popular HBXG Shehwa ty165 series. The equipment was designed taking into account the operating experience of the second generation. Compared to its predecessor, the bulldozer received several improvements:

• new air filtration system with greater efficiency;
• a modernized line of dumps;
• redesigned exterior and interior;
• a new mechanism for separating and preheating fuel, which ensured improved starting in extreme cold conditions;
• modified design of the radiator support for the engine cooling system.

In terms of service life, performance and reliability, the HBXG Shekhva ty165-3 surpassed the HBXG Shekhva ty165-2 model, which was confirmed during factory testing. The bulldozer entered production in 2014, replacing its predecessor on the assembly line.

The HBXG Shehwa ty165-3 is supplied to the Russian market in an export version, allowing it to be used in various climatic zones. The model is used in many areas for moving and loosening all soils up to category 4. Among the main sectors of application are: land reclamation, mining, construction, forestry. The bulldozer is actively used in the extraction of gold, oil and gas; it is used to extinguish fires, combat radioactive and garbage pollution, demolish buildings, lay communications and eliminate the consequences of spilling flammable materials. High productivity and maneuverability allow the equipment to perform a large volume of work in a short time. The warranty on the machine is 1500 operating hours or 1 year.
