When fully loaded the car pulls normally. By the way, there is an Italian gas installation. When cold it starts without problems. Recently the front spring sank, this is a problem with many gazelles.

We decided to buy a car to replace the old one from 2008. When we inspected the car before purchasing, we were surprised how much better the car was compared to our old gazelle. New panel, comfortable steering wheel, hydraulic power steering. Good car painting, galvanization. Anticorrosive treatment was done for us.
Impressions from the first two thousand kilometers are only positive. So far there are no complaints, there have been no breakdowns. The consumption is more than reasonable, not at all what is written on the Internet. On the highway about 15 liters.
I liked the salon. The seats are soft and comfortable with nice upholstery. The instrument panel is very convenient and beautiful.
Among the shortcomings, I can note that there is no upholstery in the cargo compartment and poor sound insulation.
We bought it for 880 thousand rubles. In principle, a quite reasonable price.

. A practical machine, if you look after it, maintain it and lubricate it, it will last a long time. Simple in technique. Almost all issues except the engine can be done yourself - it’s like a large station wagon. Reliability is average - of course something breaks, I change light bulbs, I change consumables, bearings, in the winter of 2017/2018 a lot of maintenance was done, amounting to about 30,000 rubles, so it will still ride.
Minuses
. There is no sound insulation. The body is weak, the iron quickly rusts, the quality of the paintwork is poor... I know even new cars after a year of operation are all in “saffron milk caps”. Spare parts are now sold of low quality - whatever you can get. I once changed the wheel bearings - they turned out to be Chinese... but they drove less than 500 km, they started buzzing - I bought a more expensive one, installed it and forgot about it.
The car is from 2001, it has a simple carburetor motor 40260. It’s a family-dacha-work car (everything will fit). Not gluttonous for gasoline, moderate for spare parts (didn’t cause much trouble). Drives well on roads. There is little comfort, but nothing creaks or rattles when driving - it’s pleasing. This is not a Ferrari or a Marcedes, so it’s not a rocket from a traffic light. its purpose is different. Impressions from use are only positive, it’s worth the money. I will soon take a new one or a year old one.

Exactly six months ago I bought a 7-seater GAZ-2705 van produced in 2002. Engine – ZMZ-406. I already took it from HBO. The mileage at the time of purchase was about 100,000 km. The previous owner asked for 70,000 rubles for the car, but in the end gave it for 63,000. On the second day after the purchase, he replaced the brake discs, pads and wheel bearings. I paid 6,000 rubles for everything. There’s not much to say about comfort – in fact, it’s not here. There are 7 seats in the cabin - 3 in front and 4 in back. The second row is quite spacious – if something happens you can sleep on it. The length of the cargo compartment is exactly 2 m. There is a roof rack, so I carry large cargo on top. The carrying capacity according to the passport is about 1 ton. But often you have to load more, up to 2 tons. On the highway, a comfortable speed is 100-110 km/h. Although, if you wish, you can accelerate to 140 km/h. In terms of consumption: with a load, an average of 17-20 liters of gas per 100 km is consumed. In principle, there are no problems with handling. Handles the road fine. The only thing is that when you go uphill, the speed drops significantly - sometimes you have to switch to 4th. Having driven about 7,000 km, I filled in new oil, changed the exhaust and front optics, and rebuilt the springs and steering. Almost four months have passed since then and, oddly enough, nothing has broken. We'll see what happens next.

In general, the car is not bad, a real workhorse, but it can be used as a family car, it requires attention and constant care. The consumption is high, although for such a hulk with its weight it is justified, there is gas. I am satisfied.

Having worked for Gazelle for more than 5 years, I can recommend the GAZ-2705 with an ICE-406 carburetor. I drove more than 350 thousand km on it. It never let me down on the road, although I went long distance (3 thousand km one way). The engine turned out to be successful, it was never repaired, I washed the carburetor several times because of our “good” gasoline, once I changed the clutch assembly, changed the kingpin, I didn’t do the gearbox either, I only changed the seals on the shank. I consider myself a conscientious driver, as I take care of my car, change oils and filters on time. If a breakdown occurs, I try to fix it immediately.
The disadvantages of the Gazelle car include the weak steering cardan (it constantly breaks), the mufflers are disposable - enough for a year. I’ve already done this: having bought a new one, I wrapped it in stainless steel or galvanized steel, securing it on the sides with welding. And I drilled a hole at 8 in the middle of the silencer to drain the condensate.
In this case, you can forget about the jammer. The side passenger door was also constantly getting out, either not closing or not opening. The adjustment lasted for several days. The designers copied it from imported minibuses, but never brought it to fruition. On foreign cars you don’t have to hit it with all your might; there the door is attracted by magnets.
Well, overall the car is not bad, spare parts are available and not expensive compared to imports. analogues. The engine is good, not whimsical. Consumption is not high: city - 16-17l, highway - 10-12l. The -405 injector already consumes more, but it is also more powerful. It’s a shame that they discontinued these engines; in any case, they don’t install them on Gazelle now. The UAZ engine, even the injector, is clearly weak and capricious. Many owners talk about this.

What I would also like to add is about cross-country ability, I drove on a bad road, to put it mildly, got stuck many times, but almost always managed it myself; cross-country ability can also be attributed to the positive side.

Review of GAZ 2705 2.5 (2008)
The car is used as a service vehicle to deliver beer to retail outlets. used 5 times a week. Our wonderful managers from Moscow chose the car, and as usual, they chose the cheapest option. In total, the company bought 6 gazelles, and I became the driver of one of them. Cabin. As soon as I climbed into the cabin, the door caught up with me, and it caught up with me so much that there was a concrete bruise on my butt. It’s not clear why they arranged it this way, probably so they wouldn’t forget to close it. There’s also this funny thing about it: if you leave your foot on the step and don’t hold the door, you can easily get a fracture. And in the future, so many nerves were frayed by this closing door, one after another.
If you're standing there, you need to take something from the cabin, be kind enough to hold the door with your hand. The seat is quite comfortable, if you don’t ride for a long time, only the backrest tilt is adjustable. To say that the panel is made terribly is to say nothing. the details are so chaotically fitted that you wonder how they designed it all. The errors (read: gaps) reach several centimeters. The cover of the document compartment, which is located on top of the panel, opens on its own on each bump. After one such opener, a friend said... Oh TV!! the panel itself is made of black plastic like Chinese garbage bags. In general, it's made from recycled materials. It stinks horribly. The dashboard on my gazelle turned out to be digital, they started making it in February of this year. green lighting ala optitron, looks more or less against the backdrop of this whole dump. When I released the clutch pedal I thought something was wrong. tight and creaky. Unlike the gas pedal, it is electronically controlled.
The first problems began in the first hundred. the rear axle ran. I didn’t even begin to find out what was there, they changed it under warranty. Then the fuel pump failed during the first thousand, they refused to replace it under warranty, they said you drove with a low fuel level in the tank. the first 4000 rubles from the corporate budget. In the summer, when the heat began to warm up, the fan was constantly turned on. the temperature sometimes went over 100. at Krasgazservice they just shrugged their shoulders, saying that you want this same gazelle. At the first MOT I wrote a bunch of complaints about the car. Actually, not one of them was eliminated. the complaints were the following: the wiring smells when the heater is on, the back door in the booth does not open, it starts poorly even when it’s hot, the tachometer with the engine off shows 2500 rpm, the lock keys are difficult to insert into the sockets, the car pulls to the left.
Then, at the second thousand, the clutch disappeared. So suddenly, in a traffic jam, the pedal turned from a tight, creaking pedal to a soft one. Then the fuel pump again, although the level was always at least 10 liters. Then, on a country highway, the engine stalled, right while driving. It's -23 windy outside, I'm wearing summer shoes without a hat, unscrewing the spark plugs, checking the spark. Somehow I made it home that evening.
Over the entire period of operation, the car frayed a lot of nerves; they spent 45 thousand on it. If it was my personal one, I would have sold it without any regret.
