The history of the Citroen Jumpy dates back to 1995, but sales in different countries have led to the model being known under different designations in different parts of the world. They managed to provide three generations for the model, and Citroen Jumpy is still produced.
Citroen Jumpy passenger and Citroen Jumpy van, what interesting things did the manufacturer manage to offer, hoping to take over the leadership from its competitors? This is what we are going to talk about today; we will additionally pay attention to such a section as reviews.
Design
In terms of design, all three generations of Citroen Jumpy are absolutely different from each other; more precisely, there are body similarities between them, of course, but as far as specific details are concerned, the workmanship is incredible every time.
The new Citroen Jumpy has absorbed only the best developments of its predecessors, as well as its classmates, receiving a more aggressive and confident appearance. Oddly enough, but if the “civilian” versions of the manufacturer usually have a modest and somewhat “childish” appearance, then the minibus or, more precisely, the minivan was distinguished in a harsher and thornier atmosphere.
Exterior
Fourgon Citroen Jumpy turned out to be oblong, due to which it was possible to “win” a lot of space in the cabin, not only for passengers, but also for the cargo part, especially in the corresponding modifications.
The Citroen Jumpy cargo and cargo-passenger van has the same dimensions, which, in general, is not strange, but the only difference is that the glazing format and design of the rear and front wheel arches are revised each time. It’s difficult to say what the latter is connected with; most likely, the designers are trying to separate the models, at least in a visual sense.
There is no point in discussing the stern and profile as such; the differences even between generations are purely formal. It’s much more interesting to look at the front, where new generations already have the classic black “lip”, as in all similar models, be it a van or even a minibus.
The “muzzle” is scowling with large volumetric headlights and simply magnificent air intakes, which here, by the way, serve far from a decorative function.
Interior
What is interesting about the salon? In fact, it is simple but functional; many experts even saw enough similarities with the domestic Gazelle. There are certain similarities, it’s hard not to notice them, in particular the central block of the panel, glove compartment arrangements, and seat format. But, as for the finishing and quality of the materials used, here, of course, it is the “French” that wins by a large margin. Indeed, the build quality is excellent, the materials are not expensive everywhere, but even cheap plastic looks quite harmonious here. The wood and leather trim in the maximum configurations gives off a sense of high cost and premium quality.
In terms of equipment, the Citroen Jumpy will not be able to boast of a rather modest set of equipment, but still it will be able to please with a modern radio, high-quality “music”, modular “tidy”, and a full-fledged climate.
The body is large in appearance, the same hood is oblong and voluminous, and I would partially like to see the dimensions in the cabin. Despite the expectations and experience of the “French”, there is enough space inside, the trunk is spacious even in versions with a passenger “compartment”. The Citroen Jumpy van's cargo compartment dimensions are amazing, with more than 3,000 liters of space available for loading things and any other cargo.
Moreover, the shape of the luggage compartment is thought out with maximum precision, the geometry is correct, so even large oversized items will fit in with ease. Even if you look at the photo, the passenger compartment is impressive, with nine seats. What is typical, despite, in general, the budget class, the seats are comfortable, and the number of adjustments allows you to choose a position for almost any passenger size.
Equipment and prices
There are not as many equipment options for the Citroen Jumpy as in Europe, however, for the Russian Federation they were still able to offer two versions that differ only slightly from each other. The price depends on several factors, which model year you choose, condition, mileage. On average, for models produced between 2014 and 2022, owners ask from 850,000 to 1,400,000 rubles. Again, you need to pay attention to the modification; the same passenger versions will traditionally cost a little more.
As for equipment, the basic equipment is and was supplied with the following equipment:
- Air conditioner.
- Set of window lifters.
- "Empty steering wheel", but with power.
- Heated front seats.
- Armrests on all seats.
- "Music" with six speakers.
- A scattering of assistance assistants, in particular for the braking system and much more.
Technologies and equipment
Blind Spot Monitoring System
The Blind Spot Monitor alerts you to the presence of a vehicle in your blind spot using indicators in the side mirrors. It includes 4 sensors located in the front and rear bumpers and operates in a speed range from 12 to 140 km/h.
Grip Control
This advanced traction control system optimizes front wheel torque depending on the type of surface. Grip Control, available on all payload versions with both stamped steel and aluminum wheels, improves the new CITROËN Jumpy's all-terrain ability on difficult surfaces.
adaptive cruise control
Adaptive cruise control allows the car to adjust its speed according to the speed of the vehicle in front. This automatic control system is capable of reducing speed to 20 km/h by reducing engine speed.
Specifications
Citroen Jumpy van technical characteristics for the modifications offered for sale in Russia are somewhat different from the European versions, in particular, in the variety of engines, or more precisely in the absence thereof. So, for the Citroen Jumpy, the technical specifications section in terms of power units looks like this:
- Diesel 1.6 liter, generated 90 hp.
- Diesel 2.0 liter, with a power of 150 hp.
The “box” is offered only with a 6-speed manual transmission, in combination with a front-wheel drive trolley. The speed figures are quite impressive for a car in this segment:
- 3 seconds to “hundred” with a 90-horsepower engine.
- 5 seconds to 100 km/h with a 150-horsepower unit.
- Fuel consumption in the combined cycle averages 5.5-6.5 liters.
Citroen Jumpy suspension technical characteristics are traditional among “classmates”: independent suspension front and rear, based on a two-link and five-link design. Additionally, transverse stabilizers are installed.
Citroen Jumpy - review and technical specifications
The new mid-size all-metal Citroen Jumpy vans debuted in France. The PSA Peugeot Citroen association demonstrated them at a special event held by specialists at its Sevelnord plant. Some may have already seen these vans at the exhibition in Geneva, albeit in MPV format - Citroen Space Tourer.
Specifications Citroen Jumpy Dimensions and cargo space
The modular design of the vans offers customers two types of wheelbase and three body lengths: with a short wheelbase, the length is 4.60 m; with a long wheelbase - 4.95 m and 5.30 m. The reinforced structure of the platform allows you to transport loads weighing up to 1,400 kg, and the maximum towing weight is 2 and a half tons.
Engine
The model is based on the efficient modular EMP2 platform, thanks to which the vehicles boast improved efficiency and low operating costs.
The new Citroen Jumpy will be powered by several diesel engine options: three 1.6-liter engines with power from 95 to 115 horsepower and three more powerful 2.0-liter engines, reaching 180 horsepower. With. Efficiency will be a major selling point - the new range of BlueHDi engines combined with weight savings significantly reduce emissions and improve fuel economy.
Safety
The car received a maximum of 5 stars according to the safety test results from EuroNCAP. This was facilitated by various assistant systems installed on the vans. Among them: adaptive cruise control; speed limiter; traffic sign reading system; lane departure warning system; driver fatigue monitoring and emergency braking system.
In the cabin
In the interior of the updated models you can find a lot of technological innovations. Specialists equipped the vans with a 7-inch touch screen with 3D satellite navigation with voice control; a display on the windshield, where instrument readings are projected; as well as the Mirror Screen function, which is compatible with Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink.
The cabin is also equipped with a special sliding partition and a hatch located under the passenger seat. Thanks to this hatch, it is possible to transport 4-meter loads. This functionality is provided by the modular architecture of Modulwork.
Apart from this, there is a high-tech rear view camera called “Top Rear Vision”. Its work is as follows: when the car approaches an obstacle, the camera focuses and provides a viewing angle of 180 degrees, which contributes to the most accurate display of the remaining distance.
In addition, the Jumpy models have sliding side doors with the hands-free opening technology already familiar from the Space Tourer cars. If the passenger has his hands full, all he needs to do is move his foot under the door and it will open.
Verdict
The price of Citroen Jumpy in the most basic configuration starts from 1,469,900 rubles.
Compared to its competitors, the van has an optimal price. Citroen Jumpy is perfect for people who are engaged in private transportation.
