In March 2014, the Gorky Automobile Plant launched mass deliveries of a new passenger bus, which immediately began to be snapped up by satisfied customers. It is very comfortable inside, it is new, has modern equipment and design. The Citiline bus was produced taking into account all the safety requirements of the driver and passengers, and it can be used on city or suburban routes. The main feature of the new model is the spacious interior with 19 seats, its height is 190 cm, which is very comfortable. There is a wide range of additional options, a panoramic view, as well as high-quality lighting. The seats are very comfortable, there is an independent heater and a reliable ABS braking system, which will make every trip comfortable and absolutely safe.

The glass area is large enough to allow you to enjoy a beautiful view from the window during your trip. The Next family bus has an attractive design that is combined with excellent functionality and practicality.

Cabin and salon

Cabin: the driver's seat is equipped with a seat belt, it is possible to adjust the seat height, which is very convenient. The steering wheel can also be adjusted for the driver’s convenience, the instrument panel is equipped with additional controls and a special air distributor coming from the ventilation system. There is a comfortable pocket on the left upholstery; it is made of high-quality vinyl leather. The driver is behind a plastic fence, a standard heater is built into the instrument panel, there is a high-quality lighting system, a sun curtain and a light display that notifies people about the route number.

Interior: 18 passenger seats are installed, their upholstery is made of vinyl leather. In the direction of travel there are safety handrails that ensure safe movement around the cabin; they are only absent near the rear seats. One seat is designed for passengers with disabilities; a “signal to the driver” button is installed next to it. The handrails have contrast lighting, and the cabin also has a liquid heater, a horizontal handrail and 4 ceiling lights. For evacuation in emergency situations, there is an emergency ventilation hatch; its cover is made of glass.

Doors: The front door has an electromechanical drive and can be controlled using a button on the driver's instrument panel. The door can also be opened from the outside by pressing a special button. The rear door opens manually and can be considered a spare door. A belt stop is installed to prevent the door from opening.

Driver's seat

The bus dashboard has become more modern and is extremely similar to the torpedoes of its European competitors. Everything a driver might need is present. Important sensors are installed under the steering wheel. There are very few of them: a speedometer, a tachometer, a sensor that monitors the oil level, and a fuel sensor. Unlike previous models, the steering wheel has become more comfortable and functional, which simplifies the driver’s task. It contains buttons for controlling the audio system, as well as power windows, so the driver will be less distracted while driving. On the right is a modern multimedia system that successfully combines the functions of a player and a navigator. The system is equipped with a touch display, making it easy for the driver to make the necessary settings or switch tunes on the go.

Let's talk in more detail about the chairs. Gorky Automobile Plant signed an agreement with the world-class company ISRI. She develops seats for most Mercedes car models. The front seats are equipped with armrests and seat belts.

Passenger accommodations

The passenger seats are very comfortable, because they were developed by a well-known foreign company. The company's best engineers worked on the installation of the seats. The rows are installed in such a way that, regardless of the seat occupied by the passenger, his legs do not interfere with other people. There is a spacious passage between the rows of seats, where people with an average configuration can ride standing, even in winter. Each modification of the bus is equipped with 18 seats for passengers.

The seats are installed according to a familiar pattern: 3 rows of two seats each, located on the driver’s side, and on the opposite side there are 4 rows and a combined seat for 4 passengers, at the back of the bus.

What is included in the basic package?

All of the above plus power steering and:

1. Reinforced rear axle suspension;

2. Anti-block brakes;

3. Updated battery with a resource of 85 Ah;

4. Fire extinguishers, hammer, stop sign, jack and other emergency tools;

5. ERA GLONASS navigator;

6. Full set of optics, including reflectors in the rear bumper and rear fog lights.

The independent suspension at the rear, with two links, including an anti-roll bar, will do its best to ensure a smooth ride even in a standing position.

Ride quality

Most of all, the engineers worked on the suspension. It is independent here - this is a new solution that was created by our specialists. Of course, we could not do without the involvement of foreign colleagues, but only to clarify small, but extremely important points. Drivers who have already driven the new bus positively evaluate the driving characteristics. When fully loaded, the bus behaves stably even at a speed of 120 km/h. This allows you to use the minibus for intercity flights, where you can accelerate well.

The design of the car has undergone significant changes, thanks to which the bus can now reach higher speeds, its maneuverability and driving dynamics have improved. Improvements have also been made to the brake system, now it works more efficiently. Ventilated discs of increased diameter are installed. The bus uses rack-and-pinion steering with a stabilizer. The smallest turning radius is 6.6 meters, which is much better than previous results. For driving on uneven terrain, the rear suspension design includes springs equipped with a transverse stabilizer. But the front suspension is installed on coil springs, which significantly increases the maneuverability of the bus.

Chassis and engine characteristics

The Cityline model is built on the basis of the A64R42 and A64R45-10, with rear-wheel drive. The bus is available in several versions: for city trips or suburban trips, as a school bus or for special transportation. The engine comes in two versions: 2.8-liter diesel or bi-fuel gas and gasoline, classified as Euro-4. The capacity of the fuel tank of the latter is 64 liters, for a gas cylinder 104 cubic meters. Both units are served by a manual transmission with 5 gears. The maximum speed is 110 km/h.

Dimensions and weight

Weight can be 4252 kg or 4292 kg, depending on the selected modification. The length of the body is 6080 mm, height - 2720 mm, width - 2530. With these characteristics, the ground clearance is 170 mm, which allows you to easily move on domestic roads. If we compare the Gazelle Next Bus with foreign competitors, the data is approximately the same, which gives a certain advantage to the domestic automaker, since it costs less.

How does the consumer benefit?

First of all, Next Cityline has a larger passenger capacity. The number of seats has been increased to 18+1 (in one modification, where there is an additional seat), and those who have to stand during the trip have virtually nothing to complain about: there is enough space in the aisles, visibility is provided along the perimeter, the ceiling height is 190 cm. It is worth noting that going up and down the steps has also become more convenient. In general, this bus risks becoming the number one favorite in the future for suburban and city lines.

It looks like the eternal dilemma of the “window” on a shuttle bus will be resolved. Because the new GAZelle Next cityline, as well as the minibus, are equipped with a powerful air conditioning system. Optionally, you can choose air conditioning or microclimate, two additional heaters for different areas of the cabin.

GAZelle next cityline has zone lighting and an emergency air hatch with a panoramic roof. The driver is not forgotten either: his seat is well adjusted in height and length, and the anatomical headrest will serve well on long flights.

The new “city bus” GAZelle Next Citiline is designed to solve all the problems associated with transporting passengers on city and suburban routes. During its development, Nizhny Novgorod engineers tried to correct the typical shortcomings of minibuses and designed a car that is not inferior in terms of design, safety and comfort to many foreign cars of this type.

Built on a unified platform of the Next family, the new GAZelle Next Citiline is the first compact minibus of the Gorky plant, which has a spatial frame made of rectangular pipes with additional energy-absorbing deformation zones. This design approach made it possible to increase the rigidity of the structure, significantly improve passenger safety and, most importantly, significantly increase the amount of free space in the cabin (height 190 cm, aisle width - 38 cm).

The spacious interior of the GAZelle Next Cityline minibus is designed for 19 seats (including the driver's seat). Additional passenger comfort is provided with the help of comfortable handrails, an air conditioning system and an autonomous heater, and a huge area of ​​panoramic glazing will allow you to fully enjoy the city's attractions and not miss your stop.

Access to the GAZelle Next Citiline cabin is provided using a semi-automated sliding door; the low floor height and comfortable steps are designed to make boarding the bus easier. The GAZelle Next Citiline uses a Cummins turbocharged diesel engine that complies with Euro 4 standards. For reliable winter operation, the minibus is equipped with differential locks on the rear axle.
