The Russian GAZ-3307 dump truck belongs to the fourth generation of medium-duty vehicles that were produced by the Gorky Automobile Plant. The airborne version rolled off the assembly line in 1989. Later, in 1994, the company switched to production of the new model 3309, which included a diesel engine.

The dump truck has a shortened frame by 300 mm, which is why the spare wheel was moved under the body behind the driver. Both suspensions are on leaf springs, shock absorbers are installed only on the front suspension. The GAZ-53 truck has rear-wheel drive, and various modifications of trucks were produced on its basis, including dump trucks. GAZ 53 dump trucks were marked as GAZ-SAZ 53B. GAZ 53 dump trucks were produced from 1966 to 1974.
Cabin
The dump truck cabin has space for two people. Such a dump truck could load 3.5 tons, despite the fact that the weight of the equipped dump truck reached 3 tons 750 kg. The dump truck was 6.38 m long, 2.475 m wide, and 2.575 m high. Its wheelbase reached 3.7 m.
Engine

The Saransk plant has been operating since 1960, since August. By the end of the first year of its existence, the company had assembled about 10 thousand dump trucks. The plant constantly exceeded the plan and was in good standing, and by 1965 it had already produced its 100,000th dump truck. In the first years, the GAZ-SAZ 53B model rolled off the assembly line; in parallel, the SAZ 3502 model was produced with one-sided unloading of the body and its preliminary lifting. By November 1978, the company had already assembled half a million cars.
Purpose
Basically, the GAZ-SAZ-3507 truck carries out transportation and mechanized unloading of various cargo, both agricultural (grain, silage, manure) and fine-bulk (sand, expanded clay, crushed stone). As for operating conditions, the model can move on asphalt, dirt and field roads.
The instruction manual supplied with this truck contains a special note from the manufacturer stating that the model is not intended to transport concrete mixtures and mortars in the back, or to work in quarries. In addition, it is not recommended to transport large indivisible cargo, hard rocks, etc. This is due to the fact that the design of the truck is not capable of withstanding such loads, which in turn can lead to very serious damage. It is also unsafe, since due to large-sized cargo, the equipment can easily tip over.
The manufacturer recommends using the GAZ-SAZ-3507 as a single truck. Therefore, a coupling device is not installed on it from the factory and it is not prohibited to install it yourself.
This truck is ideal for use in temperate climates. But it can also be used in fairly harsh temperature conditions, since its full functionality is maintained even at temperatures from minus 45 to plus 45 degrees.

Since the beginning of 1984, the Saransk plant has mastered the production of the new GAZ-SAZ-3507 truck. Subsequently, its modifications were developed:
- GAZ-SAZ-35071 with a diesel engine D-245 (based on the GAZ 3309);
- GAZ-SAZ-3507-01 with a ZMZ-5231 gasoline engine (based on the GAZ 3307);
- GAZ-SAZ-25041 with tilting only backwards and preliminary lifting of the body.

A little history
The management of the Gorky enterprise, the first in the territory of the former Union in the mid-80s of the last century, realized that the Russian automobile industry, then called Soviet, urgently needed to be modernized and brought to world standards. Third generation cars were quickly improved. It was clear to everyone that it was urgent to launch the car with new technical data. As a result, a new GAZ-3307 diesel dump truck appeared. Manufacturers realized that the main technical units and components of the machine were obsolete; it was necessary not only to improve the current range of models, but also to create a machine with completely different technical characteristics.
At the end of 1989, it was possible to produce the first GAZ SAZ-3307 dump truck, which had an engine produced by ZMZ, and the wheel formula corresponded to a 4 x 2 scheme. The vehicle’s load capacity was 4.5 tons, the vehicle was intended for movement on paved roads.

In 2003, the plant in Saransk began production of the new model GAZ-SAZ-35072. The base chassis was the GAZ 3309, and its power unit was a Belarusian-made diesel engine D-245. The front beam is presented in the form of a hollow beam, which is essentially a bent metal profile. The upper plane of the beam has a welded pair of brackets on which rubber buffers are installed. The lower plane has brackets, through which it is installed in the frame structure of the truck. The ends of the beam have side plates and a pair of welded axles that have front platform support brackets, and several brackets that secure the front side light and side protection.
The subframe is a welded frame structure secured to the vehicle frame with bolts. It has two longitudinal beams and cross members connecting them to each other. In addition to connecting the crossbars, they also serve as a stop for the hydraulic cylinder of the lifting mechanism. The left longitudinal beam is equipped with a safety stop that secures the rear-raised loading platform. To soften shock loads, the subframe also has rubber buffers.
A rectangular metal profile was taken as the basis for the rear beam. The upper plane is equipped with thrust brackets and supports that interact with the rear rotating bearings of the body. The side and bottom planes have brackets that allow you to firmly fasten this beam to the frame structure of the truck.
