General description of the exterior

The appearance of MAZ-53366 is typical for the trucks of this plant. The cabin is equipped with two doors, without a hood, since the engine is hidden under the cabin. It has a strict rectangular design, emphasizing the working nature of the equipment.

The large radiator grille is painted in a dark or light color and contrasts with the main tone of the car, and is decorated with the company’s logo. The metal bumper acts as one of the elements of the passive safety system.

Above the windshield there is a visor made of plastic. Similar linings are placed on the side ribs of the front part of the cabin.

The wheels are recessed into the car body, the arches are emphatically simple and laconic, and are equipped with a step for easy entry into the car.

The cabin is complemented by a cargo side of various modifications.

The dimensions of the MAZ-53366 inspire respect. The length of the car together with the cargo side is 8.62 m, the height reaches 3.16 m, and the width is 2.5 m. At the same time, the car is quite easy to drive and does not seem clumsy. The wheelbase measures 4.9 m.

There are many types of sand, they all have different bulk densities, on average the figures are from 1200 to 1700 kg/m3, the average figure for calculations is 1600. Thus, to transport 10 tons of sand, you will need a body of 12 cubic meters.

The density indicator should always be taken as an average; it always depends on various factors:

  • fraction size;
  • presence of impurities, purity of the material;
  • humidity;
  • extraction method.

It is humidity that often plays a key role, depending on weather conditions.

Often, a vehicle with a known load capacity cannot actually transport sand due to the significant increase in weight.

Examples:

The prescribed carrying capacity of a certain machine is 10 tons, volume 6 m3. The density of transported sand is 1600 kg/m3. 6 * 1600 = 9.6 tons, the weight that a car can carry.

In the case of an increase in the density of sand, theoretically 1800 kg/m3, with a full body of sand, 6 m3 * 1800 kg/m3 = 10.8 tons, an unacceptable overload of the machine is immediately visible.

Average figures show that a car with a carrying capacity of 10 tons will deliver sand from 5 to 8.5 m3, the exact weight depends on the bulk density (1200 - 1800 kg/m3).

Modifications

Since the model has been produced by the Minsk Automobile Plant for a long time - since 1988, several dozen versions have been developed. MAZ-5336 is operated as a truck, a truck with all-metal and welded vans, and also as a dump truck, a closed tilt truck, etc.

Over the course of 31 years, various modifications of the vehicle were produced, which differed in engine power, volume and area of ​​the cargo platform, types of gearboxes or the presence of additional options.

For example, MAZ-53366 is a two-axle chassis with a YaMZ-238M2 engine and a load capacity of 8.28 tons. 53361 – basic version. And 62 and 63 models differed, respectively, in engine power of 300 and 330 horsepower.

Modification 5516 is intended for the transportation of bulk cargo, in particular grain. Here are its features:

The onboard vehicle entered production in the late eighties of the last century. Production began at the Minsk Automobile Plant.

Having worked out the errors and shortcomings in the predecessor of the MAZ, but with the number 5335, specialists released an improved model into mass production. At that time, a truck with serial number MAZ 5336 coincided with the requirements and standards put forward by the International Customs System.

Improved efficiency and cost, upgraded suspension, more powerful engines, increased payload and improved sound insulation. All this distinguished the new MAZ model from its predecessor, and the advantage was the presence of a special sun visor in the basic version.

Since the 90s, the flatbed cargo truck has captured the market, displacing the previous model.

One of the most important parts of the Maz is the lift or control valve, as it is also commonly called. It serves to lower the platform at the end of the ascent. This mechanism is equipped with a special device that well protects all mechanical elements from overload.
