ZF gearbox oil for KamAZ
The instructions for use determine which oil to fill into the ZF KamAZ gearbox. Domestic-made lubricants have a lower price, but for use in expensive imported mechanisms it is better to use branded oil for the ZF gearbox of KamAZ. For these purposes, you should choose Titan Cytrac Man Synth 75W-80 or Titan Cytrac LD 75W-80. Castrol EP 80W and Mobil GX-A 80W are also perfect. A high-quality brand of gearbox oil will extend its service life and reduce wear on parts. Therefore, the best choice is to use the oil in the KamAZ ZF gearbox specified in the specifications for this box. These are GL-4 and MIL-L2105 grades. Viscosity is also determined by the temperature conditions of the environment. For cold climates 75 W-90(80), for the middle zone - 80W-90, and for hot weather - 85W-90.
An onboard tractor-trailer has been produced by the Minsk Automobile Plant since 1987. The body is a metal platform with opening side and rear sides. The side board consists of two parts. Caring for the YaMZ gearbox

Caring for the YaMZ gearbox consists of periodic inspection and tightening of fasteners, as well as timely performance of lubrication work.
During preventive inspections, first of all, you should pay attention to the fastening of the gearbox to the engine and the condition of the rear mounting of the power unit, as well as the proper tightening of the bolts securing the top cover to the gearbox housing. It is also necessary to check that there are no oil leaks through the cover connections and shaft seals.
Lubrication work consists of maintaining the oil level in the gearbox housing and periodically changing it, as well as lubricating the remote mechanism, the front bearing of the input shaft and a replaceable pair of speedometer drive gears.
To lubricate the gearbox, transmission oil TS-14.5 (MRTU 38-1-150-64) with 5% EFO additive should be used. Substitutes: aviation oil MK-22 (GOST 1013-49) in summer and MS-14 (GOST 1013-49) in winter or oil MT-16p (GOST 6360-58) in summer and winter.
Modifications
The MAZ-4370 initially had a German cab and was assembled on a MAN chassis. Having established the production of most components and assemblies at the Minsk Automobile Plant, throughout all years of production, spare parts from both domestic and foreign manufacturers were used in the Zubrenok design. Modifications of the MAZ-4370 mainly differ in the size of the wheelbase, slight differences in load capacity, installed power plants and gearboxes. Today you can find the MAZ-4370 with a wheelbase of 3000, 3700, and 4200 mm. The main modifications include:
- MAZ-437040 with MMZ D-245.9-540 engine with a power of 136 hp. meeting EURO-1 standards and a ZIL-695D gearbox or a five-speed SAAZ manual transmission. The model is not produced, and subsequent modifications are equipped with more advanced engines.
- MAZ-43704 with a MMZ D-245.30 E2 power plant with a power of 155 hp. meeting EURO-2 environmental standards and a SAAZ-3206.70 gearbox.
- MAZ-437043 with MMZ D-245.30 E3 engine with 155 hp. meeting EURO-3 environmental standards with a SAAZ-3206 gearbox.
- MAZ-437030 with a German turbocharged power plant DEUTZ BF4M 1013FC with a power of 170 hp. meeting EURO-3 environmental standards with an imported gearbox ZF S5-42.
The MAZ-4371W2-431 modification is equipped with a diesel engine from the American company Cummins 4ISBe4185 with a six-speed FAST GEAR J70TA gearbox.
As modifications of the Zubrenok, we can consider the MAZ-457043 dump truck, the MAZ-447131 truck tractor for working in conjunction with a low-bed semi-trailer with a carrying capacity of 12 tons, and the MAZ-437141 for working as part of a road train with a total weight of up to 17.5 tons.
Cars with index 4371 are also distinguished by a more spacious cabin with a folding berth and finishing using panels from the MAZ-5440.
How much oil is poured into the ointment? Yamz gearbox care
For correct and durable operation, machine components must be lubricated on time, so we will look at what and how much oil should be poured into a KamAZ gearbox with and without a divider.
The amount of oil in the old-style KamAZ gearbox - five-speed without a divider - is 8.5 liters. Checking the lubricant level should be done as often as possible and at least once a month. Once a year, a complete oil change should be carried out in the KamAZ gearbox, provided that the mileage does not exceed 90 thousand kilometers. When this figure is reached, replacement must be performed earlier. For vehicles operating in difficult conditions, this figure is halved. This is due to the rapid depletion of oil life with frequent gear changes, as well as long-term operation in low gears. The oil in the KamAZ gearbox is checked using an indicator attached to the filler plug. In speed distribution mechanisms produced by ZF-KAMA, level control is carried out through control holes located on the crankcase.
Do you need a KAMAZ gearbox?
The presence of a divider increases the amount of oil used in the KamAZ gearbox. Ten-speed gearboxes require 12 liters of gear oil. Replacing it is a simple process, so most drivers know how to change the KamAZ gearbox oil.
This procedure is performed as follows. First, the filler plug is unscrewed. Then the two drain plugs at the bottom of the crankcase are unscrewed. In units equipped with a divider, the plug should be unscrewed from its crankcase. Before draining, you need to start the engine and warm up the oil to reduce its viscosity. Because drain plugs have magnets to trap metal particles, they should also be thoroughly cleaned.
The mechanisms of the Kama plant are unpretentious, so truck owners use domestic oil in the KamAZ 5320 or 6520 gearbox. For this, the TSp-15K brand or all-season MT-16p is used. The Lukoil concern produces an excellent transmission brand TM-5 SAE 80W-90. When using a transmission, it is important to consider weather conditions. In hot climates, it is necessary to use more viscous grades - 85W-90, in severe frosts - more fluid ones - 75 W-90. To increase engine life, it is advisable to use Shell Spirax S6 AXME, Castrol Syntrax Long Life, Esso Gear Oil GX.

The design of this vehicle model includes:
- Engine, rear axle, air flow cooling system, brake system, gearbox, electrical equipment, body.
- Coupling mechanism. It consists of a pedal, a main cylindrical element, a working cylinder, a fork that disengages the coupling device, a pressure bearing, and pipelines.
- Crank mechanism. It is necessary to convert the translational motion from the piston part into the rotational motion of the crankshaft. Such a device includes a piston with rings, a piston pin, a flywheel, a block of cylindrical elements, a gasket, and a pan.
- Frame and towing device. The design of these mechanisms includes brackets, side members, cross member, fasteners, rear flange, spring mechanism and anti-roll bar.
Advantages and disadvantages
The most significant disadvantage has already been noted above - poor sealing of the interior. For the driver, a long trip meant cold and a buzzing head from constant noise. Even despite modern heating systems, this car is far from achieving a sufficient level of comfort. The rest of the systems make you forget everything bad and rejoice at the conscientious execution of Soviet manufacturers.

And excellent maneuverability and great power when moving, transporting or carrying loads only add a positive impression.
