Driver requirements
Only persons who have reached the age of 18 and who do not have mental or visual impairments can obtain a driver’s license (and the corresponding specialty) (these criteria are evidenced by a certificate signed by a doctor). Additionally, students must undergo preliminary training at a driving school (learn traffic rules and the construction of cars). Without these skills, it will not be possible to work on a production vehicle.

The duty of a driver with the fourth category is to carry out maintenance work on forklifts and repair them if necessary.
- Fifth. Allows you to control loaders with engine power up to 100 hp. These can also be less powerful machines used as excavators, bulldozers, scrapers, and so on.
- Sixth. This category provides access to tractor loaders with an engine power of 200 hp or more. s, used as bulldozers or excavators.
Railway
They are excavators that are placed on a railway platform. They are distinguished by ergonomics, versatility and efficiency. Used for work on the railway. Can also be used as a tractor.
Frontal
A front loader is a self-propelled device for lifting, picking up and moving loads. It is simultaneously a bulldozer, an excavator, a planner, and so on. The exam to obtain a license for such a forklift includes a theoretical and practical part. The duration of the course is 1.5 months. Diesel

Electric forklift
An electric forklift is functionally similar to a diesel one. It is characterized by silent operation, ergonomics during repair and maintenance, environmental safety and the possibility of use in “clean” rooms. The equipment operates on an alternating current battery. An electric forklift license can be obtained after two months of training, followed by tests and an internship.
Who can receive
An applicant must be at least 18 years of age to obtain a forklift license. there are no contraindications regarding health status. The presence of contraindications is determined by a medical commission, which is mandatory for all applicants.
The student is also expected to have taken a driving course. This will be due to the fact that special equipment can move on public roads in the same way as other vehicles.
Documents and registration of rights to the forklift

Passing the exam
To obtain a certificate, you need to study at a driving school that has a Gostekhnadzor license and a base with various types of cars. The institution must also have a training area.
At the basic theoretical course, future drivers study all the design features of forklifts and the basics of safety precautions when working with them. At the end of the lessons, a test is taken and a forklift driving certificate is issued. You need to go with it to Gostekhnadzor. There you take an exam, after which you will receive a certificate for operating equipment with an O and category designation.
To obtain rights, you must:
- Take the test.
- Go to Gostekhnadzor with the necessary documents and find out the exam date there.
- Pass the theoretical exam. It can be oral or written.
- Pass the practical exam. It is held at the training site. The driver must demonstrate skills in moving cargo using a forklift. The exam is taken by a Gostekhnadzor specialist.
If a student fails to pass the exams the first time, he can try again after a week. A total of three attempts are given. If the result is negative the third time, you will have to study again.
The inspector who will take the practical part of the exam will assign a rank. After receiving the certificate, you can use it to operate a forklift in any region of the Russian Federation.
Receipt procedure

By analogy with the VU, it is possible to replace the certificate, which is important in cases of expiration, change of previously established qualifications, or changes in the owner’s personal data.
