The new UAZ-452 “Loaf” 2021-2022 in an unexpected body was presented: its first photos and characteristics

]Hyundai[/anchor] several months ago introduced the new Staria minivan, which, with characteristics comparable to the Kia Carnival, stands out against its background due to its original appearance. The Korean model visually looks more like a futuristic car. Later it became known that Hyundai intends to bring Staria to the Russian market.

But perhaps the Korean model will have to face competition in our country not only with Carnival, but also with the updated “Loaf”. ]UAZ[/anchor] has already stated that it plans to modernize its own model range by electrifying it. This may lead to changes in the design of manufactured cars. In particular, this modernization may also affect Bukhanka. Despite the fact that work on updating the minivan has not yet begun, a domestic designer has published renderings revealing the appearance of the future Russian model.

According to the author’s idea, the new UAZ “Bukhanka” 2021-2022, just like the Hyundai Staria, will stand out for its futuristic appearance. Moreover, this design is suitable for the electric version of the minivan, since the body of the presented model has a smooth shape. They will provide better redistribution of air flows, which will have a positive effect on the cruising range. But, probably, the future “Loaf” will also have standard internal combustion engines, since in modern conditions the production of only an electric minivan will be unprofitable for UAZ: the car will be too expensive and, as a result, unpopular in Russia.

It is more likely that the Russian model, after the change of generations, will retain the same technical part. However, it is possible that UAZ engineers will finalize the configuration of the 2.7-liter engine. Moreover, they have an example of specialists from the Netherlands who modernized this unit, reducing the level of harmful emissions. Thanks to these changes, it became possible to sell “Loaf” on the European market.

Modifications and options (with dimensions and weight)

In December 2018, UAZ issued OTTS certificates for all currently produced UAZ Loaves of the 2022 model year. These are versions 3303, 3741 and 3909 in various configurations, with different types and designs of cargo compartment, as well as the number of seats.

Today, the UAZ Bukhanka 2022 model year can be purchased with a body type:

Combi

Cargo-passenger configuration with 5 or 7 seats and a load capacity of up to 940 kg. This modification comes with sliding interior windows and a heated front seat system as an option. In addition, for an additional fee, you can install a rear axle differential locking system on the Bukhanka.

Combi Trophy

A seven-seat special version, which was modified to improve its off-road qualities and increase functionality.

Options from the standard configuration are included in the “base”, and additional equipment is a large expeditionary trunk, which can be reached via a special ladder.

Its dimensions are such that it can offer several full-fledged sleeping places at once. The new body of this 2020 Loaf is painted only in “camping” green.

Farmer

Complete set with increased by 250 mm. wheelbase, where a five-seater (so-called double) cabin and an onboard tilt body sit side by side on a frame structure.

The carrying capacity of such a car reaches 1075 kg, and the list of options includes a heated seat system, sliding windows and a differential lock.

Flatbed car

Unlike the Farmer configuration, a two-seater cabin is used here, which allows the use of a new side tilt body of greater capacity. It can hold up to 1225 kg. cargo The cabin can have two color options: green or light gray non-metallic.

Glazed van

UAZ Bukhanki 20020, which gets either 5 or 2 seats and differs from the Combi by the presence of glass in the side body panels located above the wheels of the rear axle. This body option is designed for the creation of special vehicles: ambulances, mobile laboratories, mobile headquarters, etc.

Van

The UAZ Bukhanka 2022 without glazing in the cargo compartment comes only in a two-seater version. Opens up great opportunities for retrofitting a car with any equipment or using the car as a courier or postal transport.

Bus

Equipment with maximum body glazing area. Can have 8 or 9 separate passenger seats. Load capacity is 875 kg.

Review

The loaf was modernized extremely slowly, which was facilitated by the absence of any government regulations in this regard.

Moreover, the “loaves” consistently found buyers, this time, exclusively thanks to massive government orders. The situation began to change only at the end of the “perestroika” 80s, when the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant made minor modifications to the chassis: changed the gear ratios in the axles, installed dual-circuit brake drives, and boosted the engine.

Salon

During the same period, it was decided to change the designations of numerous versions of the Bukhanka: the car in the form of a minibus began to be called UAZ-2206, the flatbed truck received the designation UAZ-3303, the van - UAZ-3741, and the medical vehicle - UAZ-3962.

Technical stuffing

For 20 years after the start of production, the UAZ Bukhanka had the status of a military vehicle (the original idea was to create equipment designed to remove those killed from the affected area after the explosion of enemy bombs).

In the 60s, the cabover UAZ Bukhanki had its frame changed, telescopic shock absorbers installed, and a 2.5-liter (70 hp) GAZ-21 Volga engine was used as a power plant.

This car received a new engine much later: in 1997, the “loaves” began to be equipped with 2.9-liter 98-horsepower UMZ-4218 units, which 20 years later were modernized to comply with Euro-3 standards.

SGR - Trophy.

A few more years - and these engines were brought to the Euro-4 level, and the car itself began to receive modern systems, such as power steering or an ABS system. Today, the main engine for the UAZ Bukhanok 2022 is considered to be the ZMZ-40911 engine (2.7 liters, 112 hp) with fuel injection.

What will the new “Loaf” be like: images and all the details

Last week, UAZ posted an image on its social media pages showing the possible appearance of the new UAZ-452 (“Loaf”) van. The concept with a new appearance, created solely on renderings, caused heated discussion on the Internet and fueled interest in the model. The car in the images has a very wide track, huge rear-view mirrors, narrow front optics with LEDs, and a protective metal trim on the front bumper.

At the same time, UAZ employees asked their subscribers to evaluate the sketch, proposing four answer options in the vote. We decided to reflect on the topic of what the updated UAZ 452 could be like, collecting bit by bit all the facts and even a few rumors about the future new product.

The original “Loaf” has been produced since 1965 without significant changes. But this is due not only to the technological complexity of modernizing an outdated design, but also to the uniqueness of the car. In fact, a small van with such serious off-road capabilities exists in a market with no direct competitors.

It is quite obvious: in order for a car to remain in demand, it needs to maintain its frame structure. Yes, and abandoning it as part of modernization will be very expensive, since in this case the manufacturer, in fact, will have to build the body from scratch. However, keeping the frame at its core does not mean that it cannot be modernized. It is possible that UAZ will slightly modernize the power structure in order to increase the level of passive safety. It will also be of the ladder type, but will have a new design and will become stiffer and stronger. Such a modernization is very likely also because UAZ is currently modernizing the frame for the second generation Patriot. It is quite possible that the new “Loaf” will borrow some elements from the “Russian Prado”.

The preservation of the frame at the heart of the car, as well as the current power cell of the body, suggests that the design of the updated UAZ-452 will not undergo major changes. The canonical monocab silhouette that made the car legendary will remain. However, many external details can be rethought. So, the rear-view mirrors, lights and headlights will probably get new forms. It is possible that the latter, for the sake of safety and better visibility at night, will become completely diode.

In addition, the car may receive new bumpers, as well as a different design for the radiator grille. Surely, there will be greater opportunities for customizing the body. However, recently, with the release of a huge number of special versions of the 452, it is unlikely that such decorations will surprise anyone. After all, we have already seen not only the bright orange expeditionary “Loaf”, but also even a real house on wheels based on the legendary van.

Any rearrangement of the UAZ-452 interior is practically impossible. Due to its archaic design, the steering wheel cannot be equipped with a telescopic mechanism. And the position of the pedal assembly depends on the attachment to the body, the design of which will also not change. So the strange ergonomics, conveying greetings to the driver from the end of the Khrushchev Thaw era, seem to remain with the “Loaf” forever. Just like the engine placed in the cabin. However, the emergence of new equipment is inevitable. Moreover, we are confident that the interior will retain its original minimalist style. However, in the interiors of cars in the richest trim levels, heated seats will probably appear, and the front panel will house a new multimedia system with a touch screen.

Most recently, the Zavolzhsky Motor Plant patented a new family of gasoline engines. They will first appear under the hood of the second generation Patriot, which is also called the “Russian Prado”. However, it is possible that these engines may in the future replace the old 452 unit.

Little is known about the main characteristics of the new ZMZ engines, but the most important parameters are still disclosed. There are two motors, and both are based on the ZMZ-409 unit. From him they inherited a cast iron cylinder block. The basic version is a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engine with 150 hp. and a maximum torque of 235 Nm, which, thanks to a smaller displacement and a different intake and exhaust design, complies with strict Euro 6 environmental standards. The older engine is a 2.3-liter turbo engine with two boost levels. In its initial version it will produce 150 hp. and 330 Nm of torque, and in the top version there are already 170 forces and 350 Nm.

On the Patriot, the engines will be able to be combined with both a new six-speed manual transmission supplied by the Chinese concern BAIC and a six-speed Punch Powerglide automatic transmission. However, it is unlikely that a combination with an automatic transmission will be able to be implemented on the “Loaf”. So if new engines appear on the 452, it will only be in combination with mechanics.

Let us remind you that the current version of the UAZ-452 is equipped with a 2.7-liter gasoline engine developing 112 hp. With. and 198 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a five-speed manual transmission and permanent all-wheel drive, and car prices start at 757,000 rubles.

Design

The presented version of the UAZ-452 2021-2022 is distinguished by its somewhat angular body contours. Its upper part is located at a noticeable angle in relation to the flat roof. It is noteworthy that such a body design, judging by foreign electric cars, ensures the necessary redistribution of air masses. That is, the design chosen by the domestic developer not only makes the new “Loaf” unique for the minivan segment, but also improves its aerodynamic characteristics.

At the same time, this shape improves visibility from the interior. The presented “Loaf” has a large glass area. Moreover, almost all pillars are compact in size: only the front ones expand slightly as they approach the hood. Additionally, the developer equipped the new product with a panoramic roof. This feature will make the “Loaf” more attractive for lovers of long trips.

Despite the futuristic design, the presented model retained a number of features characteristic of its predecessor. In particular, like the current version of the “Loaf”, the new product stands out with smoothed corners, which gives the car a more voluminous shape. Also, the continuity of generations is emphasized by the front doors, which are located above the wheel fenders. It is not yet clear how the driver’s and passenger’s seats will be seated, since the presented model does not have footrests. But behind the front wings there are 2 doors at once. The fact is that the new “Loaf” has a 4-row interior. The appearance of additional doors in this case will simplify entry into the rear seats.

As in the case of the current “Loaf”, the front part of the body of the new product is vertical in relation to the road surface. This model received head optics, unique for the Russian market, made in the form of several thin LED strips that go around 2 blocks with the main lights at the top and bottom.

The features of the new UAZ “Bukhanka” 2021-2022 include the original front bumper with a wide air intake, which gives the car a somewhat sporty look. The appearance of this part is rather intended to improve the appearance of the car. The new “Loaf” will receive a low-power engine, and therefore there is no need to introduce a wide air intake.

The sporty style of the Russian new product is emphasized by the rear part of the body, where a spoiler, which is not typical for many minivans, is located. The stern lights follow the contours of the head optics: they are also presented in the form of thin lines that partially extend onto the side of the body. The rear bumper of the new “Loaf” turned out to be no less large. It is complemented by four deep cutouts designed to accommodate the brake lights and exhaust pipe.

UAZ “Bukhanka” 2022 is an all-wheel drive minibus from UAZ with 10 seats. Options and prices

The 2022 UAZ Bukhanka is a truly unique car. A salon that accommodates from 5 to 10 seats, all-wheel drive and high ground clearance - and all this for only 708 thousand rubles. There is currently no other car on the Russian market with similar characteristics. The UAZ is equipped with an outdated 2.7-liter engine and manual transmission. Although, the car is available with a transfer case with a range, which, in combination with all-wheel drive, provides increased cross-country ability. The “Loaf” has a very meager set of equipment available: ABS, seat belts and power steering.

The body of the “Loaf” has remained virtually unchanged - externally, as well as internally, the car is an almost complete copy of a minibus sold in the previous century. The configuration of the minibus has not changed for many years. In this regard, prices remained almost at the same level. Relatively recently, the manufacturer adjusted the technical characteristics of the car, thanks to a change in the design of the only engine.

There are 7 modifications of “Loaf” available on the Russian market. Although, the difference is noticeable (when considering the list of available equipment) only between the top and standard versions.

Specifications

Despite the fact that the technical characteristics of the new UAZ-452 2021-2022 have not yet been confirmed, a lot is known about the engine range of the minivan. Thus, the car will definitely retain the 2.7-liter “aspirated” engine, which will probably be modified to a higher environmental standard. It is possible that engineers will increase the power of the unit to 150 hp. The need to increase output is partly due to the fact that the presented “Loaf” has larger dimensions than its predecessor.

Most likely, UAZ will leave the minivan with a 5-speed manual transmission. But to increase the attractiveness of the car, the manufacturer can equip it with a 6-speed automatic transmission made in France. In addition, the new “Loaf” should retain the brand’s all-wheel drive.

Basic configurations

The cost of the standard version of the UAZ “Bukhanka” (Kombi version) with 5 seats is 708 thousand rubles. Two additional seats will cost another 3 thousand rubles. Thus, the standard model for Russia assumes the presence of:

  • 2.7-liter “atmospheric” engine;
  • 5-speed manual transmission;
  • transfer case with reduction gear;
  • permanent all-wheel drive;
  • rear fog lights;
  • halogen head optics;
  • sockets;
  • anti-lock braking system;
  • seat belts located near the front seats;
  • full-size spare wheel.

Power steering with the Combi version is available as an option. A folding table is installed as standard in the cabin. For an additional fee of 5 thousand rubles. you can get a similar car that has a glass rear door and hydraulic power steering. With all modifications, except the top one, heated front row seats and a locking rear axle differential are optionally available. The default seat covering is fabric.
