How to manage

BelAZ uses dual-circuit hydrostatic steering. To turn the steering wheel when the engine is not running, 3 pneumatic-hydraulic accumulators are provided. The control handle for the additional box on tractor vehicles has two positions: – direct transmission - the handle is installed parallel to the rear wall of the cab; - reduction gear - the handle is shifted forward and installed perpendicular to the rear wall of the cabin.

To stop the YaMZ engine, pull the handle all the way out and hold it in this position until the engine stops completely, then return the handle to its original position.

On cars with a D12A-375B engine, stopping the engine using the emergency stop handle is only allowed in emergency cases when the engine is “peddling.”

To brake the car, pull the lever towards you as far as it will go; to release the brake, press the latch located on the lever and lower the lever all the way down.

Depending on the position of the switch key, the following consumers are switched on: the key is inserted all the way - the ground is turned on (the vehicle's electrical network is connected to the batteries); the key is turned clockwise by 45° - the engine oil pump is turned on;

Simultaneously with changing the oil on the D12A-375B engine, wash the oil filter, and on YaMZ engines replace the oil filter filter elements.

Oil from the central and wheel gearboxes of the drive axle, from the hydromechanical transmission and the tank of the hydraulic platform lifting system may be drained into a clean container and, after settling and filtering through a funnel with a mesh, used again.

In a hydromechanical transmission, remove and wash the pan, oil receiver and oil filter, replace the oil filter element. Wash the oil filter in the tank of the platform lift hydraulic system;

carry out maintenance within the scope of TO-1 and TO-2 work, with the exception of work requiring the removal of components and assemblies from the vehicle;

on cars with YaMZ engines, remove the seal and turn out the engine power limiting screw all the way. Secure the self-loosening screw with a cotter pin and close it with a rubber cap.

When removing the seal of the engine power limitation screw, the head of the motor transport enterprise, together with a representative of the State Traffic Inspectorate or a disinterested organization, must draw up a report certifying the duration of operation of the engine with limited power;

on cars with a D12A-375B engine, check the tightness of the nuts securing the engine intake and exhaust pipelines.

On new cars with a D12A-375B engine, after an additional 200 hours of engine operation, replace the engine oil again and wash the oil filter. Subsequent oil changes should be made after 500 hours of engine operation.

On the same vehicles, after an additional 500 hours of operation of the new engine, check the tightening:

nuts of tie rods of engine cylinder blocks; nuts, studs for fastening cylinder heads; clamps of adjusting bushings of engine camshafts.

In the future, the above operations are performed only when necessary.
