The S300 NOVA combine is the most long-awaited and currently most needed field harvesting machine from Rostselmash, and there is a very simple explanation for this. It’s funny to say, but still one of the most common in Russia is the old SK-5 Niva combine, the first prototype of which was born in 1967, and the Niva went into serial production back in 1973. Not only did this happen in the last century, but we lived in a completely different state. But time does not stand still, and if in the 70s the Niva was an excellent car, one of the market leaders, then in our time its role in agriculture has changed a little and the SK-5 is a real salvation for small farms. Of course, you will say that you can buy used equipment for the first time. But what is better, take used equipment and play roulette, because it can stop in the middle of harvesting, or lease or buy a new modern combine with a guarantee? Of course, the second option is preferable, and the same modified Niva Effect was produced until 2016, with steady demand.
S-300 series
The fact that the S300 Nova series is a replacement for the Niva is no secret. The main target segment will be small farms that simply do not need to buy expensive and productive combines. Even the name differs in just one letter, it was Niva, it became Nova. However, this is a completely different technique, modern and more productive. In the future, the S300 should give rise to a whole series of combines; plans for 5 models have already been announced after the Nova has been tested. S 400, S 500, S 550 and S 400 crawler, where the first digit is the class. Two models of the S300 series are also being tested at once, these are NOVA 320 and NOVA 340.

Features of the S-300 series
The S300 Nova grain harvester was released as a replacement for the old Nivas. This fact does not surprise anyone. The main target consumer is small farmland that does not require the use of powerful and expensive combines. Despite the fact that only one letter was changed in the name of the new equipment (Niva was replaced by Nova), it is worth digging deeper to understand that the S300 series is truly modern equipment, characterized by greater productivity.
The manufacturer has planned the release of the S300 as the basis for a new series of combines, which should be released in the near future. It is known that in the coming years the world will see 5 updated models, improved versions of the new tracked combines S 400, S 500, S 550 and S 400. They are the most long-awaited. A pair of 300 series models (320 and 340).
The manufacturer is going to adapt the new combines to modern operating conditions of Russian agricultural land. The new series, like the released S300 Nova, will be distinguished by maximum localization. There are plans to produce from 500 to 600 cars per year. It is possible that the release will be expanded if the new products are as popular as the S300.
The S300 Nova series itself was officially presented several years ago as part of the Agrosalon 2016. The combine was put into mass production a year later. During this time, manufacturers thought about and made new additions to the design that made the characteristics of the S300 Nova more interesting.
The S300 Nova represents the third class of combine harvesters. This does not make it outstanding compared to other foreign models. But the S300 managed to boast characteristics that manufacturers of similar models in this class had previously failed to achieve.

Chassis

This interesting characteristic opens up the possibility of installing an all-wheel drive system and the ability to achieve a minimum turning radius, which averages 7 meters. The header can be transported using a special trolley. This does not affect mobility or the ability to use wide adapters.
Transmission
The S300 Nova is equipped with a three-speed hydrostatic transmission. And for a better balance between performance and efficiency, a special fuel control system is used.
Reaper
In the kit you can get a header, the best among all in PowerStream, whose width is 4.5 m. There is also an option of 6 m. The main advantage is the ability to follow the terrain and synchronize the power of the reels at the maximum power of the combine.
Separation
There have been major changes in the system. The straw walker was mainly modified, the scale of which was increased to 4.3 square meters. Four 3.7 meter keys make the system work as efficiently as possible, much better than systems from other third-class models. The S300 Nova can be used with a 9 cubic meter stacker.

1. Universal header Power Stream.
Power Stream guarantees increased productivity by reducing losses and optimal supply of harvested material. Practice has proven that the use of this header, due to the original cutting device with a planetary drive, reduces grain losses due to shedding and ensures a confident, uniform feed, regardless of working conditions. The reel hydraulic drive with synchronous drive function automatically changes the reel speed depending on the speed of the combine. A single hydraulic connector is available as an option.
2. Improved visibility with new oblique camera.
The conveyor feeder chamber ensures fast and uniform movement of the mass to the threshing drum. There are special hatches for inspection of its condition and ease of maintenance. A stone catcher in front of the threshing drum prevents stones from entering the threshing zone. The reverse function will help in difficult working conditions.
3. Unique threshing and separating device.
The classic single-drum thresher performs threshing very carefully (up to thin layers) and at the same time has a fairly simple design. The engine electronics completely monitor its operation and supply exactly the amount of fuel required according to the current load. Thanks to this, minimal fuel consumption is achieved.
5. Effective cleaning system.
A two-sieve cleaning system is used to clean the heap. The high drop height and finger grid on the prep board significantly improve the cleaning process. The total area of the sieves is 3.59 m², which is one of the best indicators in the third class of combines. The cleaning system uses a six-blade fan, the rotation speed of which is controlled from the cab and displayed on the control panel.
6. Productive straw walker with a large separation area.
The efficient 4-key straw walker and the optimal length of the keys ensure that the separation is thorough, down to the last grain. The vibration amplitude of the keys is selected in such a way as to ensure the maximum degree of separation of grain from the heap.
7. New opportunities.
To work in hilly areas or with uneven terrain, a high ground clearance of 50 cm is required. In conditions of high humidity, all-wheel drive is suitable. To reduce ground pressure, it is possible to install larger tires. The compact base of the combine provides high maneuverability in small fields. 9. Capacious hopper 4500 l.
The volume of the combine's bunker is the most optimal for this class of machines. The high-speed unloading device allows unloading to take place in no more than 2 minutes. Adjustable shutters inside the hopper adjust the unloading speed depending on the type and moisture content of the crops being harvested. The unloading height is 4 m, which allows you to unload grain into any vehicles. The removal of the unloading auger is hydraulic, activated from the cabin.
10. Reliable chopper-spreader.
The classic NOVA threshing and separation system practically does not damage the straw. Depending on the intended use, the straw can be chopped and scattered or placed in a windrow. The chopping drum drive is switched off in a matter of seconds. For farms that harvest straw in large quantities, it is possible to order a version of the combine with a stacker with a capacity of 9 m³.
11. Convenient maintenance.
An air compressor with a 110 liter receiver (included in the basic package of a combine with all-wheel drive) saves a lot of time on shift maintenance and is especially helpful in the field when there is no technical support vehicle nearby.
