How the car works
The unit is assembled from a thresher on a wheeled self-propelled chassis and a trailed stem cutting mechanism (reaper).
Grain header
The Palesse combine uses unified Gomel ZhZK headers for processing strip widths of 6.7 and 9.2 m, which allow:
- cleanly, with constant parameters, cut the stems on problematic (wet, laid down) breads;
- regulate the flow of grain mass by changing the speed of rotation of the reel;
- avoid straw wrapping on the reel, thanks to the reinforced pipe design of the rake;
- ensure sufficient speed of movement of knives and cutting frequency, which allows you to increase the speed of movement of the unit and its productivity without losing the quality of the cut;
- use the header according to the working width, ensure a uniform cut height, independent of the field profile, due to a hydromechanical copying device;
- quickly deliver and mount the unit onto the combine using the trolley included with the header.

Combine harvester Polesie - kinematic diagram
Kinematics diagram
The inclined chamber receives the compressed mass and transfers it to the threshing device with two chain-plate conveyors. The unit is driven by a hydraulic motor and is equipped with a reverse motion system for cleaning. The threshing mechanism ensures the separation of grain from the accompanying mass. Separation is ensured by a complex of shock, rubbing, and combing effects on the stem mass. The drums are driven through a V-belt variator with a tension unit. The cleaning unit separates the threshed grain heap by passing it through a system of sieves and a post-threshing device, removing debris with an air stream. A straw walker , using keys driven by cardan shafts, finally separates the straw heap emerging from the cleaning unit. Cleaned grain is fed into the bunker by screw-type elevator-conveyors. The storage hopper is equipped with filling control systems, windows for sampling, and a screw elevator for unloading the product. Power plant. Diesel engine YaMZ-238DE-22 from Yaroslavl OJSC Avtoagregat with a V-shaped 8-cylinder block.
Electronic components. To control and manage grain processing and monitor the operation of combine components, an on-board computer and the BIUS-03 system were used.
Transmission and ride control
Hydrostatic type drive to the chassis motor. Speed adjustment and reversal by an axial piston pump of the hydraulic system. The front axle is driven. Change of direction by turning the wheels of the rear axle using power steering.

Combine harvester KZS 10k
The PALESSE GS10 combine can rightly be considered the “golden mean” among grain harvesting equipment. On the one hand, this is a classic combine harvester, which is economical and stable. On the other hand, the manufacturer has introduced advanced solutions and process automation into the design of the KZS 10k Palesse gs10. The combination of these qualities makes PALESSE GS10 the optimal choice in most situations.
Design features of KZS 10k palesse gs10
Compared to similar combines of this class, the KZS 10k grain harvester reduces operating costs by one and a half times. The design features of PALESSE GS10 are carefully thought out. It has everything you would expect from modern technology.
- The combine thresher is equipped with an inertial drum of increased diameter (800 mm). Such a thresher will provide good throughput of workpieces in almost any conditions.
- The straw walker in this model has 7 steps with an optimal height for each of them. Thanks to this, grain separation occurs efficiently and losses are reduced.
- Fine grain cleaning goes through three stages, which guarantees an excellent result. The output bunker grain is truly clean.
- The high unloading auger makes it possible to quickly load grain into vehicles with high sides. This leads to savings in fuel and time.
Chassis
Reliable and uninterrupted operation of a combine harvester largely depends on its chassis. The manufacturer has made every effort to make it as efficient and durable as possible. And routine inspections, preventative maintenance and access to all important components of the KZS 10k Palesse gs10 have become even easier.
- The operation of the combine is ensured by the economical and reliable YaMZ-236BE2-28 engine. It has enough power for the combine to operate stably for a long time and under heavy loads. A well-designed upper platform is equipped for carrying out scheduled and repair work on the motor unit.
- The 500 liter fuel tank will never be covered with a layer of rust, since the manufacturer abandoned metal. The fuel tank is made of modern polymers. Such a tank is reliable, durable and practically does not cause any trouble during operation. On the Palesse GS10 combine, the manufacturer keeps the price at an acceptable level, but in addition to this, the manufacturer takes care of reducing costs during the operation of the combine.
- The second receiver increases the pneumatic system of the combine to 80 liters. Such an impressive reserve increases the time between maintenance, saving time and effort.
- Preliminary air purification increased the efficiency and stability of the engine.
- To make maintenance of the combine convenient, the design includes fully openable hoods with pneumatic cylinders.
Cabin and on-board computer
Comfortable working conditions are the key to ensuring that the operator remains focused throughout the working day. As a result, he will not make gross mistakes, and labor efficiency will increase. The combine has everything you need for comfortable work. At the same time, on the Palesse GS10 combine, the price should be kept at an acceptable level, so they do not install more than necessary in the model.
- A spacious cabin with large panoramic windows will allow the operator to keep control of everything that happens around him.
- The conveniently located control handle includes many functions that need quick access for instant decisions.
- The on-board computer displays important information about the progress of work and the condition of the combine components in real time. If the electronics detect problems, the operator will know about it instantly, which will help prevent serious breakdowns and emergency situations.
Equipment
The KZS 10k grain harvester can be used not only for harvesting grain, but also other crops. This significantly increases the harvester's payload and leads to direct benefits.
- When necessary, the combine is equipped with a pick-up platform. This device is ideally suited for working in fields with difficult terrain.
- Rapeseed harvesting equipment includes a fingerless cutting mechanism, side dividers and rapeseed deflectors. As a result, the rapeseed is cut very efficiently, along the edge of the paddock.
- To harvest corn, a cob separator, a thresher reduction drive, a stalk chopper and some other equipment are installed on the combine.

The Polesie-1218 combine produced by the Russian enterprise Bryanskselmash has technical characteristics identical to the Belarusian machine.
Variety of models, their similarities and differences
All models of the Polesie combine harvester, having small but significant differences in technical characteristics, were developed to implement specific tasks.
Thus, the GS12 and GS10 machines are ideal for large-scale work on large farms due to their improved power characteristics.
The main advantage of the GS812 combine is its compact size and increased energy efficiency. These grain harvesters are united by high productivity, versatility and the ability to work on uneven soil.
A special advantage of these models is the ability to harvest wet cereals, all types of cereals, as well as corn, sunflower, soybeans, and rapeseed.
Did you know that an electric grass and branch shredder is the ideal tool for gardening? And here you can find out the technical characteristics of the SB-159a concrete mixer truck, which you cannot do without on a large construction site.
Through the efforts of designers and technologists, the Polesie combine harvester has become a worthy response to foreign analogues of this type of equipment.
Compliance with European standards in this unit is combined with an affordable cost, which ultimately influenced the high demand for the Polesie series among farmers.
Technical characteristics of combine harvesters Polesie
Indicators of engine power, productivity, width of threshing equipment, fuel tank volumes are included in the list of properties that distinguish models of the Polesie series.
Thus, the power of the engine installed on the combines from the Minsk Machine-Building Plant ranges from 154 kW (210 hp) for the GS812 to 243 kW (330 hp) for the GS12.
Average power figures belong to the GS10 - 184 kW (250 hp). This characteristic is optimally selected for the effective functioning of each model intended for the operation of fields with a certain yield level.
Thus, the Polesye combine harvester KZS-1218 is aimed at a yield of 60-70 c/ha, KZS-812 – at 40 c/ha, and the KZS-10 K is intended for significant volumes of grain with a yield of 50 c/ha.
The grain assembly work process is divided into the following stages:
- cut of a cereal stem;
- grain separation;
- threshing;
- grain cleaning;
- moving grain to the bunker;
- shipment.
The goal of the manufacturer of the equipment in question was to ensure that each of the presented stages was as efficient as possible. Thus, the cutting of the stems is carried out by a special system of knives of the cutting apparatus of the header.
The steel fingers used here, connected using stamp-welded technology, guarantee reciprocating movements of high precision. The result is a perfect cutting edge for the stem.
With the help of a special mechanism for lifting wet grains, the Polesie series combines do an excellent job even with lofted grains.
The threshing grip of the models varies in size from 5 to 7 meters. The design features of this most important component of the grain harvesting machine are that its mechanism allows it to follow the topography of the soil. This ensures excellent grip on the ground.
Stone catchers installed on all combines in the series prevent stones and soil fragments from entering the drum. A trolley is also included for transporting the header.
Due to this, convenient transportation is achieved, and installation of the thresher on the combine is possible directly in the field.
The main design difference between these models, in addition to the power of the installed engine, is that they are equipped with a different number of threshing drums.
The first configuration option (GS812 and GS10), which has become traditional throughout the world, provides for the presence of one drum. This guarantees increased reliability during any work performed by the combine.
The drum diameter in these models is 800 mm. The rpm for the GS812 is 442-876, for the GS10 it is 510-870. Equipping the drum with a special pre-threshing system makes it possible to achieve high grain purity and has a gentle effect on the operation of the threshing unit.
The equipment of the GS12 combine with two threshing drums improves the quality of the output grain and ensures long-term operation of the threshing mechanism.
The separation process in this case is longer and multi-stage, which has the best effect on the quality of the grain and the performance of the mechanism.
The straw walker, four-key in the GS812 and five-key in the other two models, is responsible for the optimal flow of the separation process. Working in conjunction with the concave, the seven-stage straw walker provides a large separation area.
The main performance indicator - throughput - is 8 m/s (GS12), 10 m/s (GS812) and 12 m/s (GS10). This corresponds to the indicators of this parameter for grain for each model, respectively, 18 t/h, 12 t/h, 15 t/h.
The volume of the grain collection bin for each model is 5 m3, 7.5 m3 and 7 m3, respectively.
The capacity of the bunker was designed taking into account the capacity of trucks (MAZ, KamAZ) shipping grain. The shape of the box is optimal for unloading wet grain without auxiliary vibration means.
All models in the series are equipped with systems for chopping or windrowing waste straw.
In the first case, a rotary device with 80 knives ensures high-quality chopping of straw and its subsequent spreading across the field. This is done to naturally fertilize the soil.
If further use of straw is planned, then it is possible to form neat fluffy windrows from it, ready for subsequent collection.
First rolled off the assembly line in 2005, the Polesie series grain harvesters have recently undergone significant design changes.
In addition to improving the indicator of operating losses, introducing an electronic management and control system, there is also a significant increase in the comfort of the combine operator.
All models under consideration are equipped with an on-board computer that reports on the progress of the work process, emerging problems and the best ways to solve them.
The electronic unit with an easy-to-read font is equipped with an anti-glare device that distributes basic and additional information on several screens. During a working start, the control system automatically checks all circuits for proper functioning.
The improvement of the operational characteristics of Polesie combine harvesters was also facilitated by the installation of a Comfort Max luxury cabin.
Large area (2.6 m3), convenient panoramic view, air conditioning and refrigeration unit eliminate the rapid fatigue of the combine operator.
In addition to the adjustable operator seat, the cab has space for an assistant. The operator is reliably protected from such phenomena as vibration, dust and noise during work.
The ability to remotely control many operations directly from the cab increases overall work productivity.
