YaMZ-6582.10E3 , like YaMZ-6581.10E3 , is an eight-cylinder liquid-cooled diesel engine with a V-shaped cylinder arrangement, 4-stroke, with direct diesel fuel injection, turbocharging and air-to-air intercooling of the charge air. The fuel supply system is manufactured by YAZDA: high-pressure fuel pump (HPF) 179-20 type “Kompakt-40” with a microprocessor electronic control system. Compared to the 8-cylinder YaMZ-6581.10, which is similar in characteristics - the successor to the “veteran YaMZ-238”, the YaMZ-651 has almost 38% higher liter power, 2.4% lower fuel consumption, 260 kg less weight and 5 .5% more torque.
