Kinds

There are two types of curtain-sided semi-trailers: flatbed and curtain-sided. The first option is equipped with removable or folding aluminum sides. Its frame consists of vertical and horizontal posts connected by special crossbars. The upper part of the equipment is covered with an awning. It is attached to the sides using a cable or fixing hooks. The trailer is unloaded and loaded both from the rear through the doors and from the side. Such modifications are used primarily for transporting consolidated cargo, which require reliable and rigid fixation.

Krone SDP semi-trailers belong to the second type. The curtain model has no sides and consists of three separate curtains (on the sides and top). The difference from the first option is technological simplicity and versatility. The advantages also include easier loading and unloading and lower cost.

Purpose and benefits

Semi-trailers from a German company with the KRONE logo are distinguished by their smooth running and reliable design, which is why they are highly popular in Europe.

Aerodynamic properties help save fuel because the pressure of oncoming air is reduced, and oil distillation products are constantly rising in price, so the opportunity to reduce fuel consumption is very attractive in the eyes of especially large cargo carriers.

A special bonus is that all semi-trailers are manufactured in factories located in the European part of the mainland: Germany, Denmark and Turkey.

Design Features

The process of using Krone semi-trailers is associated with minimal costs and low consumption of energy resources. When developing new modifications, attention is paid to safety, because this is the most important aspect for technology due to the heavy congestion of highways.

The low price and range of semi-trailers allow users to choose the best option for their needs among the offered models:

  • for standard cargo that is susceptible to exposure to weather conditions, you need to choose a curtain option, where a durable awning protects the product during movement;
  • for food and fruit - choose refrigerators or isothermal bodies;
  • a spare fuel tank for the semi-trailer is possible;
  • structures of non-standard sizes and containers are transported on open flatbed vehicles or trailers.

We will talk about the features of the models in detail in the next section of the article.
