Motoblocks are known for their design features. In particular, because they use two starters at once. An auxiliary or spring starter helps the main one start properly and quickly. But, if the auxiliary starter suddenly fails, then you have to think about how to repair the recoil starter. Perhaps even with your own hands.
By the way, the spring option is not the only one. A manual starter on a walk-behind tractor is quite common; it is common in Russia. It is much easier to operate. It is easier to install, even if the user does it himself. It has a completely simple design:
- drum body;
- coil;
- a spring, or rather, two: large and small;
- washer;
- cord;
- reeds;
- bolts and nuts, without which neither a mechanical nor an electric starter can be assembled.
When assembled, it looks like this: the cord is attached to a reel, and it is attached to the core of the drum body. There is a special space inside the drum where a large spring is located around an axis. It is she who is responsible for ensuring that after cranking the starter returns to its previous position.
Types of starters for walk-behind tractors - description and features
Commercially available starters for mounting on walk-behind tractors are divided into several types. Among them, the following types of mechanisms stand out:
- spring starters - mechanisms of this type are very popular due to their quick start properties, which was achieved thanks to the presence of a semi-automatic spring in its design. The spring starter is very easy to install - replacing a worn mechanism with a new one will take no more than 2 hours;
- electric starters - these mechanisms operate from built-in batteries. The charge capacity of the latter determines the power parameters of the electric starter. At the same time, an electric starter for a walk-behind tractor is not suitable for every model of agricultural implement. In this regard, before replacing the manual mechanism with an electric starter for a walk-behind tractor, you should study the manufacturer’s recommendations and the suitability of the element for the unit on the farm.
Each of the listed types of starters has a reliable design and long service life. However, it should be understood that without regular inspection and timely application of lubricant to the rubbing parts of the starter used, the mechanism will quickly fail. This will lead to breakdowns of other elements and mechanisms of the walk-behind tractor.
Design modification
Are there any options to improve engine starting? You can replace the mechanical component with an electric starter, then the need to pull the handle with all your might will simply disappear. But this modification is not available for all models of walk-behind tractors with manual start.
Electric starter device.
In addition, the electrical circuit chosen for installation will not fit every engine, so it’s worth looking at other types of walk-behind tractor starter. One solution could be a mechanical spring mechanism.
Some stores sell a kit for converting the Zubr walk-behind tractor. The old manual starter for the walk-behind tractor is no longer needed, so it is simply removed. An analogue with a spring trigger mechanism is suitable as a replacement. After installation, just change the position of the handle, and the engine will start almost immediately.
The factory starter for the walk-behind tractor initially starts the engine with just one movement. Such smooth operation of the mechanism can last for a year, but the more often it is used, the faster the breakdown will occur. To avoid this as long as possible, you should check the amount of lubricant before starting, and also do not pull too hard on the cord handle. This will only reduce the likelihood of breakdown, but will not avoid it completely.
Difficulty shifting gears
There are several reasons here, let's look at each of them:
- Worn parts in the gearbox. The ends on gears are most often worn. Therefore, the transmission cannot be fixed and constantly breaks down, and its shifting is not controlled. You should disassemble the entire gearbox and inspect the gears; if they are worn, try to grind them as much as possible. If this cannot be done, then replace it.
- The shaft splines are worn or misaligned. To adjust them correctly, they must be equipped with additional locking rings. If they are worn out, then there is only one way out - to change them.
- The clutch is not adjusted correctly. As a result, the gear shift lever is not locked in its final position. This may be a consequence of improper handling of the Cascade walk-behind tractor, when the lever is released before it is properly locked. In this case, you should adjust the clutch and shift gears correctly in the future.
The gearbox is considered a complex unit in which several parts operate simultaneously. You should start repairing the gearbox of a Cascade walk-behind tractor only if you are confident in your abilities. If this is not the case, then you should contact a specialist.
Maintenance of Oka
Maintenance of a walk-behind tractor includes several stages:
- Daily work before and after use.
- Change of oil.
- Scheduled inspection.
- Preservation for long-term storage.
Before operating the Oka walk-behind tractor, you must:
- check the oil and fuel levels; only fill in high-quality working fluids;
- check the reliability of bolted connections;
- check tire pressure.
After use you must:
- thoroughly clean and wash the walk-behind tractor;
- dry in the shade;
- lubricate all components and mechanisms;
- put into storage.
No less important is the second point - “Oil change”. The first replacement is made after running in the walk-behind tractor. After every 25 operating hours, the oil level in the gearbox is checked and fluid is added if necessary. The transmission oil is changed every 50 operating hours.
Routine inspections must be carried out after the first 100, 200 and 500 engine hours; it is recommended to completely change the oils, both in the engine crankcase, gearbox, and transmission.
It is recommended to fill the engine of the Oka walk-behind tractor with the following motor oils:
We invite you to watch a short video showing how to change the oil in the gearbox of an Oka walk-behind tractor:
Malfunctions
The instructions included with the Oka walk-behind tractor contain a table that lists all possible problems, but we will focus on the most common ones:
Why the Oka walk-behind tractor does not start:
- the tank has run out of fuel;
- the oil level in the crankcase is below normal;
- the ignition system of the Oka walk-behind tractor requires adjustment or has failed;
- carburetor adjustment required;
- filters are clogged and require replacement;
- spark plugs are burnt out, smoked or wet;
- the seals have failed.
The wheels (cutters) have stopped rotating:
- the clutch cable is loose;
- it is necessary to change stretched or torn belts, this will help restore the functionality of the Oka walk-behind tractor.
The gearbox is leaking:
- the cause may be worn out cuffs of the axle shafts; they need to be replaced with new ones;
- The seals require replacement.
Extraneous noises are coming from the gearbox:
What to do if the speed jumps on the Oka walk-behind tractor and the gear shift does not work:
- it is necessary to inspect and, if necessary, repair the gearbox - replace broken sprockets, chains, bearings, seals;
- adjust the axle axle release mechanism;
- check gear locking.
We invite you to watch a video on how to change the bearing and replace the oil seal on the gearbox of an Oka walk-behind tractor:
Installing belts on the Oka walk-behind tractor
In order to perform the replacement, it is necessary to determine what size drive belt is required for the Oka walk-behind tractor. The following drive belts are available for sale:
For forward travel:
For reverse:
The belt is dismantled manually by loosening the adjusting bolt. The new belt should not sag, nor should it be under strong tension. Correct tension is when the belt bends slightly when pressed with your hand.
Lighting for Oka walk-behind tractor
Many owners of this equipment strive to modernize the device as much as possible, to further increase comfort and ergonomics when working. One of the ways to modernize is to install lights (headlights).
Making light on an Oka walk-behind tractor is not that difficult; you just need to find and connect a generator of the required power to the unit. The connection algorithm is as follows:
- a button is placed on the steering wheel;
- the generator is attached to the walk-behind tractor;
- headlights are attached to the front of the motorized device;
- through wires, a connection is made from the button to the generator and to the headlight;
- wires are insulated.
The more powerful the generator, the brighter the light will be; many people prefer to install automobile electric generators on this agricultural equipment. We invite you to watch a video on how to install the light on the Oka walk-behind tractor yourself:
How to replace or replace the starter spring?
If everything turns out to be in order with the rope on the starter, suspicion falls on the reel itself. It is driven by a ribbon spring rolled into a roll. To change the spring, certain steps must be taken.
- Remove the starter from the lawnmower.
- Remove the starter coil.
- Unscrew the main bolt holding the pulley to the housing.
- Pull out the gripping tendrils and the spring; the ribbon spring will almost completely straighten or curl into rings of larger diameter.
- Hold it in advance.
- Check whether the spring is intact (there may be rust marks, breaks, etc.). If the hooks at its ends are torn, it will not be possible to bend new ones - high-carbon steel breaks when you try to bend it. Loose hooks are suitable for easy bending.
- Make sure the auxiliary (regular) spring and washers are in place. These parts protect the coil frame from being pierced by the ends of the main spring. If the washers and spring are broken and new ones are not available, do not screw the coil bolt tightly, but keep an eye on it - it may come loose and get lost.
- If the main (flat) spring is damaged, insert a new one of the same type. Place the engaging hook on the end of the spring in its place and bend it, inserting coil by coil into the space where it is supposed to be.
Rewinding the spring is completed in a minute. Skill in this action is acquired quickly.
How to replace or replace the starter spring, see the following video.

How to assemble a starter
Many summer residents are interested in the question of how to independently assemble a starter on an Agro walk-behind tractor. In order to properly assemble and install the starter, you should follow the following recommendations:
- The first step is to remove the air filter.
- Then comes the turn of the protective casing. To do this, unscrew the mounting bolts, manual mechanism and flywheel.
- Next you need to install a generator.
Important! At this stage, insert the wires into the hole in the steel wall of the engine. - Then the generator magnets are placed in the middle of the flywheel, and the holes in these elements must match.
- These components are then bolted together and the crown is installed.
- The assembled assembly is fixed to the motor and the keys are screwed in.
- Next, you need to screw in the starter basket and install the casing.
- Then you need to remove the plug from the structure and place it on the unit.
- Then the generator wires are connected to the relay.
- The last step is to connect the terminals to the battery.
Quite often, for various reasons, the walk-behind tractor stops starting. The reason why the device does not work may be a breakdown of the starter. Therefore, every owner of a motor cultivator should know how to repair this mechanism independently.
What is an MTZ starter?
Gasoline starters at MTZ are of the PD-10 type.
When it starts, the gearboxes begin to transmit torque to the power unit, spinning it up gradually. The advantage of a gasoline device is its unpretentiousness, the ability to use low-quality fuel for work, which does not affect performance at all. An electrical device is also installed on the MTZ-80, the power of which is supplied through a special mechanism connected to the battery. Typically, this type is needed for tractors with powerful engines designed to perform long-term loads and constant work. Electric requires a mandatory connection to the motor so that the clutch can transmit torque to the flywheel.
Thus, which starter is better to install on MTZ, the tractor owner must choose independently. Modernization depends on the types of work performed and the technical characteristics of the machine itself. Climatic and weather conditions are also important.
Important Advantages and disadvantages of the characteristics of the universal tractor T-30 Vladimirets
Carburetor
This part is responsible for preparing and supplying the fuel mixture.
If the carburetor mixes in the wrong proportion, this can be seen immediately.
Most often, to restore its proper operation, it is enough to simply adjust the supply of fuel and air to the carburetor. This is done in the following sequence:
- Fully unscrew the adjusting screws that control the maximum and minimum throttle. Afterwards, the bolts should be returned back one and a half turns;
- Let the engine idle for about 10 minutes;
- Place the lever that controls engine speed in the lowest position. In this case, the engine must not stop working;
- Set the throttle valve to the lowest idle speed. The operation of the motor should be clear, without foreign sounds;
- Then use the fuel screws to adjust the gasoline supply (when you tighten the screw, the gasoline supply increases, and when you unscrew it, it decreases).
90 percent of all malfunctions in the carburetor of the Cascade walk-behind tractor are solved by tuning it. If the problem persists, try disassembling and cleaning the carburetor. This is done to remove the resulting carbon deposits and slag.
Setting up the carburetor of the Cascade walk-behind tractor:
The carburetor should be washed with a soft cloth soaked in gasoline. After removing all debris, the carburetor must be thoroughly dried. This is best done using an air compressor; if you don’t have one at hand, then wipe it thoroughly with a dry cloth and let it dry. Then reassemble.
If during disassembly you notice that some part of the carburetor has broken off, then it is not permissible to continue working with such a part! It needs to be replaced with a new one.

Features of the manual mechanism
In the selection process, most users usually prefer a manual starter. It has a huge number of advantages compared to electric and other options. Such a device includes the following parts:
- drum-shaped body;
- several springs;
- various fastening parts and cord.
It is the manual starter that is most popular, since during operation such devices often fail, so they have to be repaired, but manual options are extremely easy to repair. Let's look at what the process of restoring the starter's functionality looks like.
- Before starting repairs, you need to find a diagram from the manufacturer in order to understand the location of all the parts. In addition, it will be useful to understand the instructions.
- You need to prepare a wrench with which you can unscrew and remove the nuts.
- It's best to take a few photos before removing the starter. This will help you restore everything if you forget the location of certain parts.
- We unscrew the washer, which is located in the center of the drum.
- Find damaged elements and replace them.
Thus, repairing a manual starter does not take too much time, which is why this variety is very popular. In the process of restoring the functionality of a starter for a walk-behind tractor, the main thing is to pay attention to any details, even the smallest ones.
You can also install other types of starters for the walk-behind tractor. There are several types among the most popular and in demand on the market.
- Spring ones, which are considered the easiest to use and install. In order to start such equipment, you just need to move the handle of the walk-behind tractor. The unit includes a semi-automatic spring, which provides the necessary acceleration of the power plant. In order to replace the manual version with a mechanical one, it will take no more than two hours.
- Electric, powered by a built-in rechargeable battery. It is the last detail that determines the power level of the device and its battery life. It should be noted that such starters cannot be installed on all walk-behind tractors. Only some models are capable of operating using electricity, so before choosing, be sure to study the features of your unit.
When choosing any starter, you should understand that in the first year of operation they are almost all the same. If the company is conscientious, then each device will fully perform the functions assigned to it, but after a year the situation changes.
Prevention will prevent repairs
There is one more important point that is best to remember. New things work great at first and starters are no exception. The factory starter is quite capable of starting a new walk-behind tractor with one pull. And this excellent state of affairs will last approximately during the first year of operation.
Walk-behind tractors cannot be called complex structures, but still even they contain certain features. For example, during operation of the device, two starters work at once: the main and auxiliary. Spring, electric and manual options are used as reliable assistants.
The latter are the most common, because they can be easily installed on a walk-behind tractor and, if necessary, repair the object yourself. Such kickstarters are unpretentious and often successfully serve for years with careful use.
The device consists of:
- a body made in the form of a drum;
- large and small springs;
- reeds and washers;
- reels and cord;
- fastening parts.
The cord itself is fixed on a reel installed in the central part of the drum. A special large ring spring is placed in the drum around the axis and helps the reel return to its initial state after scrolling. As you can see, assembling such a mechanism is quite simple.
As for the working process, everything is even simpler here: after a person jerks the starter handle with a sharp movement, the mechanism itself comes into action and transmits the initial rotation to the engine. For better acceleration, pull the handle twice.
But, as is usually the case, nothing works forever and even such reliable devices sometimes fail. Be that as it may, there is no need to be upset, because all problems can be corrected.

Many farmers ask how to install a starter on a walk-behind tractor. When using a motor cultivator, starters are used: primary and secondary.
Disassembly of the starter unit
The starting mechanism is disassembled in order to install new parts instead of broken ones in the following sequence:
- use a screwdriver to unscrew the screw that secures the pulley with the starter cover;
- remove the spring and antennae;
- carefully remove the pulley (you need to turn your head away or work while wearing glasses and gloves);
- determine why the trigger mechanism broke down;
- if the spring has collapsed almost completely, then it is replaced;
- when the spring leaves the hook, it is installed in its original place, bending the antennae first (the photographs show the installation process);
After the spring plate is installed inside the groove, carefully twist it. To change the spring, you should work carefully and carefully: it may accidentally burst under the influence of the force caused by installing it in place
Even if you carefully remove the roller, the spring strip very quickly flies off the reel and can injure your hand with its sharp edges
To change the spring, you should work carefully and carefully: it may accidentally burst under the influence of the force caused by installing it in place
Even if you carefully remove the roller, the spring strip very quickly flies off the reel and can injure your hand with its sharp edges
It is not always possible to immediately put the spring plate back in its original place. It often slips, so attempts must be repeated until the desired result is achieved.
Do-it-yourself walk-behind tractor starter repair
Despite the high quality and reliability of modern starters, some owners sometimes face the need to repair them. Most often, mechanism breakdowns are minor, which allows you to quickly fix the problem yourself. The procedure for dismantling and further repairing the mechanism is as follows:
- Repairing a unit should begin by studying its diagram. If the design of the walk-behind tractor includes an electric starter, then before dismantling the mechanism you need to familiarize yourself with the location of its terminals;
- Using the wrench included with the walk-behind tractor, unscrew all the screws and nuts holding the mechanism in the walk-behind tractor structure;
- If the unit is being dismantled for the first time, we advise you to photograph the starter before finally removing the mechanism from the unit;
- Next, unscrew the washer located in the central part of the drum housing and carefully inspect the internal parts for damage;
- All further actions depend on the malfunction of the starter parts. If the cord fails - it is worn out or torn, then to replace it you will need to wind a new product, adhering to the marks on the drum body of the mechanism;
- Another common failure is a malfunction of the spring, or more precisely, its antennae, the edges of which should be bent in the shape of hooks. If the tendrils break, then the edges of the spring will need to be heated and bent so that the spring can be hooked onto the holes in the drum. In this case, the remaining length of the spring is of great importance - make sure that the part does not stretch too much. If you find that the spring is very short, or it has already begun to rust, then it is better to replace it entirely.
Before mounting the starter back onto the walk-behind tractor, we recommend that you first clean the space inside the unit structure. This will prevent debris from getting into the engine, carburetor, and spark plug.
How to make a generator on a walk-behind tractor - simple about the complex
Making a generator for a walk-behind tractor with your own hands is quite simple if you follow the correct procedure. To operate, you will need an electric motor, which must be installed on an agricultural machine. The generator manufacturing algorithm is as follows:
- First you need to install the electric motor on the walk-behind tractor frame. It is best to use a pre-made frame for this, screwed to the frame of the unit with screws. Place and secure the electric motor in the frame so that its shaft and the shaft and shaft of the standard motor of the walk-behind tractor are positioned strictly parallel to each other;
- Next, you will need to install 2 pulleys - install one of them on the shaft of the gasoline motor of the walk-behind tractor, and the second - on the shaft of the electric motor used. An important role for the proper operation of the entire system is played by the correctly selected diameter of the pulleys used - the rotational speed of the electric motor depends on these dimensions. In order for the generator to operate without failure, the diameter of the pulleys must be equal to the nominal diameter, which is indicated on the packaging of these parts. It’s even better if the actual diameter of the pulleys is 10% larger than the nominal one;
- Having completed the mechanical assembly of the generator, you can proceed to connecting it to the walk-behind tractor. To do this, use the electrical diagram shown above.
A homemade generator made from an electric motor does not require special care. However, to extend the life of the device, a number of rules should be followed.
When operating the walk-behind tractor, pay attention to the following nuances:
- if you find that the electric motor installed on the walk-behind tractor has become very hot, then replace the standard motor capacitors with elements with a lower capacity;
- The voltage of the capacitors installed in the electric motor is of great importance. The best option for operation is considered to be capacitors with a voltage of at least 400 Volts. If the standard electric motor capacitors have a lower value, then replace them with suitable elements;
- try to operate the walk-behind tractor with a generator installed in dry weather, as moisture that can get into the electric motor will inevitably lead to a short circuit inside the electrical system.
By adhering to the listed rules, you will prevent damage to your homemade generator and significantly extend its service life.
The methods listed above are suitable for the manufacture and installation of generators on Neva brand walk-behind tractors, as well as agricultural machines from other domestic and imported equipment manufacturing companies.

Repair of engine starting device for walk-behind tractors Oka, Neva, Cascade (MB-1, MB-2)
The most common defects of the starting device are: breakage of the end part of the starter spring at the point of attachment to the drum, breakage of the starting cord and destruction of the ratchet mechanism.
The defective spring is replaced or, with a simple tool, restored. To do this, anneal the end part of the spring at a distance of (100 ... 120) mm on a regular gas burner and, using a file, repeat the profile of attaching the spring to the starter drum on it.
Wind the spring clockwise onto the starter drum, insert the free end of the spring into the mounting socket on the fan housing.
Using a large screwdriver, center the starter drum, the support bushing with the small spring and insert it into the fan housing.
Bend the limiting legs (whiskers) on the fan body, then cock the drum with the spring counterclockwise.
Release the fully charged spring (0.5... 1) turn and align the holes in the fan housing and the starter drum.
Insert the starter cord with the handle and tie a knot on the starter drum, then release the drum while holding the tension with the cord handle.
Replacing the starter cord is carried out in the same way as described above.
It is recommended that two people perform this work!
Removing and replacing defective ratchet mechanism parts is described in the sections “Disassembling the Engine” and “Assembling the Engine”.

Self-repair of starter - algorithm in detail
Over time, the manual starter of the walk-behind tractor used often fails. In this case, the mechanism will need to be dismantled for repair or complete replacement of broken elements. In order to avoid mistakes when removing the starter, you will need to use the diagram from the walk-behind tractor manufacturer.
Repair of a walk-behind tractor starter is performed in the following sequence:
- There is a washer located in the central part of the starter drum. It will need to be unscrewed first;
- Carefully disconnect the starter housing cover, after which you need to inspect all the spare parts of the mechanism for damage;
- The kickstarter of a walk-behind tractor consists of a lot of small parts - it is very important not to lose them during repairs. To do this, all the elements should be laid out on a piece of old newspaper or fabric;
- Most often, starter repair involves replacing worn parts. In this case, the length and width of new spare parts is of great importance. If they are too large, the housing lid will not close and the walk-behind tractor will not start;
- Very often the large spring in the starter design must be replaced. At its ends there are special hooks, with the help of which the part clings to other elements of the mechanism. When replacing the spring, be extremely careful not to damage the hooks.
Replacing failed starter parts is not a complicated procedure. The main thing during repairs is not to try to restore the original form and functionality of heavily worn parts, otherwise the use of a walk-behind tractor with such parts will lead to accelerated wear of other important mechanisms of the agricultural machine.
Clutch
The transmission is a part of the Cascade walk-behind tractor, which is designed to transmit rotation from the engine to the shaft, and from it to the attachments.
The transmission of the Cascade walk-behind tractor consists of a clutch, gearbox, differential and final drive.
The most common problem is clutch adjustment.
If the Cascade walk-behind tractor “drives” during operation (the lever is fully pressed, but the machine is trying to move forward), then the adjusting screw should be tightened a little.
If the clutch slips (in other words, when the clutch is fully released, the device does not move, or produces a low number of revolutions), then it must be loosened.
After final adjustment, the clutch screw should be securely fixed so that during operation it is in one position and does not move.
If this does not help, then the problem may be in the flywheel. This is a device that transmits torque from the starter to the crankshaft.
Assembling and installing the flywheel clutch:
The most common wear is observed on the flywheel teeth. This is exactly the part that engages with the shaft and transmits rotation. And their teeth periodically break off.
Therefore, instead of replacing the entire flywheel, you can simply repair it by replacing the crown. This work should only be carried out in workshops.
Ignition adjustment and its rehabilitation on the Cascade walk-behind tractor
Most often, spark plugs fail in the ignition system, so try to always have such a part in stock. Remember that each engine has its own specific spark plugs. For example, for DM-1, DM-1D, A-11-1, A-11-0, A-17V, SI-12RT are suitable. All of them have a thread length of 12 mm. As for imported candles, B8AC presented by the famous company BOSCH showed themselves to be worthy.
How to check the serviceability of the ignition and spark plugs?
- We turn out the candle.
- We wipe all electrodes dry.
- If there is carbon deposits on the electrodes, then you need to clean it with a stiff metal brush.
- After cleaning, set the gap between the electrodes.
- We put a high-voltage wire square on the spark plug.
- We press the spark plug body to the cylinder head.
- We rotate the spark plug so that the electrodes point away from the hole.
- We turn the crankshaft 3 - 4 times.
- If everything is fine, you will see a white-blue spark. If something is wrong, then the spark will have a white-yellow color.
- If the spark is still yellow, then carefully check the stator and magnetic shoe of the flywheel. Then we set a gap between them of 0.1 - 0.15 mm
It is worth noting such breakdowns of the Cascade walk-behind tractor as:
- Second or first gear offset.
- Motor malfunctions.
- Carburetor failure, etc.
The design and principle of operation of a chainsaw starter
Most well-known manufacturers of chainsaws equip their products with starters that work on almost the same principle. Its essence is as follows: in the groove of the saw body there is a handle through which the cord is passed.
When the handle is raised sharply, the cord is also pulled out, which engages the drum, which is located in the ratchet mechanism. Through this, a drum with spokes, which is located on the shaft, is activated.
During this, the crankshaft makes a couple of revolutions, which leads to compression of the fuel mixture, which at this moment is between the cylinder head and the piston. When the handle is lowered, on the contrary, the ratchet and the pins lose their contact, which leads to the shaft stopping.
As the power of the chainsaw increases, the amount of fuel mixture increases, which must ignite when the chainsaw is started. In this case, to start the engine, it is necessary to increase the number of pulls on the starter cord.
To make starting a chainsaw easier, leading brands also use other methods:
- Preliminary enrichment of the fuel mixture using a separate damper;
- Installation of an automatic decompression valve, which reduces the pressure inside the chainsaw cylinder;
- Installing a primer designed to pump fuel before starting the engine.
The use of one of these technologies significantly facilitates starting and extends the service life of the starter, which is especially noticeable at low temperatures.
Starter device
When planning to learn how to assemble a starter on a walk-behind tractor, you need to become more familiar with the features of this element and its design. Walk-behind tractors provide for the presence of two such devices at once - a main one and an additional one, which guarantees a successful engine start even in low temperature conditions.
When studying the design of a walk-behind tractor starter, it is advisable to highlight several important components at once:
- drum type body;
- reeds, coil;
- spring mechanism;
- cord for walk-behind tractor starter, fasteners.
The design provides that a reel with a cord wrapped around it is mounted in the center of the unit body. A large ring spring is placed along the axis of the product body, which is responsible for returning the product to its original position during rotation.
The starter is responsible for starting the engine
The operating principle of such an element is extremely simple and reliable - the user pulls the cord, resulting in the rotation of the coil. Thanks to this, the element supplies speed to the engine, which contributes to its confident start.
