The D-245 engine of ZIL-5301 cars is equipped with Bychok, GAZ-3309, MAZ-4370 Zubrenok cars, and TNVD-773 cars. The highest pressure fuel pump is a block design consisting of 4 pump sections, in one housing of which there is a cam drive of the plungers and a metering coil for cyclic fuel supply.

TNVD-773 is designed to supply metered portions of fuel under high pressure into the combustion chamber of diesel cylinders at a certain time. The fuel pump camshaft is driven by the diesel engine's crankshaft through the camshafts.

The relative position of the fuel pump drive gear and the clutch half is fixed by tightening the nuts installed on the clutch half studs. The torque value of the nuts is 35–50 Nm.

The high pressure fuel pump D-245 is combined with a general mode regulator and a piston pump for refueling.

The regulator has a fuel supply regulator, an automatic fuel supply concentrator (at initial speed) and a pneumatic smoke limiter (gain regulator). The feed pump is mounted on the D-245 high pressure fuel pump housing and is driven by an eccentric cam.

The working parts of the pump are lubricated with running oil from a set of diesel fuel dosing programs. Oil flows from the pump housing into the diesel crankcase. The newly installed diesel pump must be filled with 200.250 cm3 of oil. Fill with oil through the oil drain hole. 30 (Fig. 1).

During the use of the high-pressure fuel pump 773, when the main parts wear out, its regulatory characteristics are violated. Injection pump oil D-245 is centralized from the diesel fuel dosing system through a special oil pipe. The required oil level in the crankcase is set automatically.

To reduce wear on precision parts, do not operate the high pressure fuel pump without a filter element or with a clogged fine fuel filter. It is also prohibited to work with fuel that contains inflated water.

Check the injectors every 120,000 km. Remove the injectors from the diesel engine and check them on the panel. The 773 fuel pump injector is considered to be in good condition if it atomizes fuel with a mist between all 5 spray ports without any dripping drops, solid streams or individual condensation.

The beginning and end of the injection should be clear, drops should not appear at the tip of the spray. Check the quality of the spray with a frequency of 60-80 injections per minute.

If desired, adjust the nozzles by setting the total thickness of the shims 4.5 (Fig. 4): increasing the total thickness of the shims (increasing spring compression) increases the pressure, decreasing it decreases it. A change in the thickness of the washers by 0.1 mm leads to a change in the pressure at which the nozzle needle begins to rise by 1.3. 1.5 MPa.

The value of the initial injection pressure for injectors: 455.1112010-50 - 24.5 MPa; 172.1112010-11.01 - 25.0. 26.2.4 MPa. Install the injectors on diesel. Tighten the injector mounting bracket bolts moderately in 2-3 stages. The final tightening torque is 20.25 Nm.
