Design features and characteristics of the Slobozhanets tractor

The Slobozhanets tractor belongs to the family of agricultural special equipment. The first model was assembled in 2004 at the production plant of the Slobozhansky company. The most famous models are: XTA-200, XTA-220, and XTA-250. They are equipped with diesel engines. Power ranges from 180 to 250 horsepower.

Purpose and application

The Slobozhanets HTA-250 tractors are intended for a full range of work with mounted, semi-mounted and trailed hydraulically powered machines and implements, when performing plowing, disking, continuous cultivation, harrowing, moisture closure, pre-sowing and autumn tillage, sowing, harvesting, earthmoving, road- construction work. And also for carrying out transport work with a trailer or semi-trailer weighing up to 25 tons, both on roads and in off-road conditions.

The XTA-250 tractor can be successfully used as a base for road construction machines and special vehicles for the forestry industry. High unification of parts and components with parts of the T-150K-09 tractors from KhTZ, with a relatively low cost of domestic spare parts and components, makes this tractor low-cost and extremely repairable in any farm environment. About the manufacturer of tractors of this model

Slobozhanskaya industrial company was founded in April 2010 in Kharkov by employees of Agroimport LLC, who worked for many years in the field of production, repair and modernization of agricultural machinery. It has its own production facilities, which allow it to realize the wishes of various customers and effectively adapt to them.

The products of the Slobozhanets Industrial Company are universal wheeled agricultural tractors of class 3-4 of the Slobozhanets series, made on the T-150 platform, as well as a variety of special machines based on them. The company's production employs about two hundred highly qualified specialists.

When designing our own models on the platform of the well-known family of tractors from the Kharkov Tractor Plant (KhTZ) T-150K, changes and modernization affected almost all basic components - the frame, drive axles, gearbox, cab.

For the Russian market, the assembly of Slobozhanets tractors in the 2000s was organized in the city of Shebekino, Belgorod region and Penza.

Slobozhanskaya equipment is distinguished by its relatively affordable price, fuel efficiency, ease of maintenance, reliability and unpretentiousness, good maintainability in farm conditions, accessible spare parts and consumables.

Design features of XTA-250

Like the T-150K and the entire Slobozhanets family, the XTA-250 tractor is built on a channel riveted articulated frame with a reinforced vertical articulated half-frame. To reduce the load on the frame joints, a third axle was additionally introduced, with vertical hinge bushings, and a pair of support washers.

The tractor is equipped with low-pressure wheels of equal diameter. The weight distribution of the XTA-250 along the axles is as follows: 65% on the front axle, 35% on the rear axle. These design features provide higher traction properties of the tractor in the maximum traction load mode, compared to tractors of an ordinary classic design with an engine of the same power.

HTA-250 is able to compete with expensive imported analogues - to work with wide-cut productive agricultural implements of foreign production. In particular, with seeding complexes, which are now very widely used on farms in Ukraine, Russia and Kazakhstan.

The XTA-250 tractor has a front engine. A gearbox is attached to the power unit, and the operator’s cabin is located above it. The tractor is equipped with a rear and front (additional option) hook linkage and a power take-off shaft. The wheel formula is 4x4, the rear axle drive is permanent, and the front axle drive is plug-in.

A number of additional equipment for winter operation are also offered: pre-starting autonomous engine heater, fine fuel filter heater, fuel tank heater, flow-through fuel heater, fuel line heaters.

Tires are the most important structural element in the implementation of traction for such tractors. As standard, the XTA-250 tractor is equipped with low-pressure tires 23.1R26 F-37 produced by Dneproshina OJSC or Ukrtekhprom LLC. To improve traction and grip characteristics, 28LR26 Bel-83M tires produced by Belshina OJSC are also used, which ensure an increase in the tire-soil contact patch by 23 percent. To work on waterlogged soils in the spring-autumn period, it is proposed to install ultra-low pressure tires 66x43.00R25 SB-1 on the XTA-250 Slobozhanets, or use a less expensive option - doubling standard 23.1R26 F-37 wheels.

Cabin

The sealed two-seater cabin will completely protect the operator from adverse environmental factors (water, dust, snow, wind, ambient noise). It has panoramic glazing and a lower front hood line for improved visibility of 3600. It is equipped with an audio system, ventilation and heating system and air conditioning. The structure is placed on 4 rubber shock absorbers to minimize the transmission of vibrations from the power units.

Modifications of tractors of the XTA-250 family

During the modernization of the Slobozhanets XTA-250 tractor, they were equipped with a hydraulic attachment system of a new design, providing an oil flow of 95 l/min, with an operating pressure of 200 bar, four pairs of free hydraulic outlets, a direct drain line, and oil cooling.

Upon request, it is possible to install a pump with a capacity of 120 l/min. A proportional 5-section hydraulic distributor from the Italian company Bondioli&Pavesi ensures smooth adjustment of the oil flow through each section, which is important for setting up the pneumatic system and operating the seeding complex.

Taking into account the increased loads on the hinge joint of the frame, on tractors of the XTA-250-21 modification, a reinforced three-finger vertical hinge of the semi-frame articulation is used to ensure the required reliability and service life.

Design

The basis of the Slobozhanets design remained virtually unchanged from the T150K - an articulated frame, represented by front and rear half-frames. They are articulated through vertical and horizontal hinge joints. The design allows you to turn (bend) the tractor at an angle of up to 300 to the left and right using hydraulics. The vertical hinge allows the frame to bend at an angle of up to 150. The minimum turning radius of the equipment is 6.5 m, but it strongly depends on the operator’s skills.

Agricultural machinery is equipped with a friction dry double-disc clutch made in Germany. It belongs to the permanently closed type of clutch and is characterized by the presence of a damper for fluctuations in motor torque. It is controlled mechanically - by a pedal with hydraulic reinforcement. The front-wheel drive is secured by a pair of springs, the rear-wheel drive has a rigid clutch. Shoe wheel brakes are controlled from the cab.

  • D-262.2 S2 produced by Minsk Motor Plant (Belarus)

Six-cylinder in-line diesel engine with a displacement of 7.98 liters and a rated power of 183.8 kW (250 hp) Rotation speed – 2100 rpm. Specific diesel fuel consumption at operating power – 247 g/kW hour(182 g/hp·hour).

  • Deutz BF06M1013F made in Germany

Six-cylinder, in-line diesel engine with a displacement of 7.2 liters and a rated power of 188 kW (255 hp). Rotation speed – 2200 rpm. Maximum torque – 1008 N.m (103 kgf.m). Specific diesel fuel consumption at operating power is 205 g/kW/hour (151 g/hp/hour).

  • Swedish-made Volvo Penta TAD721VE

Six-cylinder, in-line diesel engine with a displacement of 7.7 liters and a rated power of 185 kW (252 hp). Rotation speed – 2200 rpm. Maximum torque – 1160 N.m (118.4 kgf.m). Specific diesel fuel consumption at operating power is 185 g/kW/hour (136 g/hp/hour).

  • Fiat Powertrain N67ENTX20.00 number and arrangement of cylinders:

Six-cylinder, in-line diesel engine with a displacement of 6.7 liters and a rated power of 175 kW (238 hp). Rotation speed – 2200 rpm. Maximum torque – 1020 N.m (104 kgf.m). Specific diesel fuel consumption at operating power is 205 g/kW/hour (151 g/hp/hour).

The diesel tractor XTA-250 Slobozhanets is equipped with an additional filter with a moisture separator, with the function of automatically heating diesel fuel at ambient temperatures below +5⁰С. This filter reliably protects the engine fuel pump during intensive use.

The engine cooling system is a closed type, with forced circulation of coolant from a centrifugal pump. To vibration-isolate the tractor frame from the influence of inertial forces of the motor, the tractor uses an elastic suspension of the power unit (engine, clutch and gearbox, rigidly connected to each other). The power unit is installed on the tractor frame on the front, side and rear supports.

Engine characteristics

For the Slobozhanets tractor, the price depends on the configuration, the manufacturer of the diesel engine and its power. It can be produced by the Yaroslavl Motor Plant or the Swedish auto giant Volvo. It is supplied in various configurations depending on demand and the availability of relevant components from partners and on the assembly line. The traction unit takes its place on the front half frame. It is represented by a 6-cylinder diesel engine with a power of 180 hp. or 135 kW. Modifications of the YaMZ-238M2 (240 hp) and Volvo Penta TAD841VE (265 hp) engines are available.

Transmission HTA-250 Slobozhanets

The tractor is equipped with a dry single-plate clutch “LuK” (Germany), which was developed and manufactured specifically for Slobozhanets brand tractors by the German company Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket GmbH.

The tractor's gearbox ensures transition from one gear to another on the move, without breaking the power flow, using hydraulic clutches.

The use of friction discs from the leading European manufacturer Miba Frictec GmbH (Austria) in hydraulic clutches creates a stable transmission of increased diesel power through the transmission. The main characteristics of the metal-ceramic coating of Austrian discs - such as the coefficient of friction and wear resistance - are significantly superior to those of domestically produced discs. At the same time, Austrian friction discs provide high stability of characteristics during operation (which, unfortunately, domestic manufacturers of these products are not always able to achieve).

In total, there are four options for gearboxes, which differ in the number of gears and speed range. Transmissions have several modes (transport, work, traction, reverse), each of which has 3-4 gears. They are switched by fluid couplings without interrupting the power flow (without stopping, while moving, under load). Planetary gearboxes are used in final drives (on drive axles).

The main option for the XTA-250 Slobozhanets transmission is a gearbox with hydraulic clutches with friction discs, with 12 forward gears and 4 reverse gears. As an additional option, a manual transmission with a number of forward/reverse gears is offered - 16/8.

Transmission

To switch between 4 rear and 12 forward speeds, a hydraulic hydromechanical gearbox and transfer case are used, which have a rigid connection to each other. The design ensures that there is no interruption in the power flow when switching speeds in any range. For this purpose, hydraulic clamping couplings are used. An interlock mechanism will prevent the engine from starting if the range is engaged.

An optional gearbox with a higher number of gears is available: 16 forward and 8 reverse.

The Slobozhanets tractor is equipped with a transfer case, which constantly rotates the rear drive and, optionally, the front drive. The front and rear axles have different housings. The box contains drives for attachments, steering and a power take-off shaft. The automatic differential locking mechanism has a positive effect on cross-country ability and traction under high loads in difficult conditions - off-road. Does not require maintenance until mechanical wear occurs.

Hydraulic equipment

The design of the HTA-250 Slobozhanets uses a hydraulic attachment system with a four-section distributor. The hydraulic system of the XTA-250 tractor ensures stable and efficient operation with foreign pneumatic seeding complexes of the Seed Hauk 600C, Rapid RDA 600S (Vaderstad), Compact-Solitair 9 (Lemken) class; with a Klen seeder and an AGD-4.5 disc harrow; using BD-2, BDT-7, KKP-8, KPS-2 in combination.

The hydraulic system includes a gear pump with a capacity of 90 liters per minute, with a nominal pressure of 200 bar. Number of hydraulic outlets: 6 / 8. As an additional option, an axial piston pump with a capacity of 170 l/min and a nominal pressure of 240 bar was also installed on the XTA-250. The number of hydraulic outlets can be increased to ten.

The rear linkage is two-cylinder and has a load capacity of up to 6000 kg. The optional additional front linkage is also two-cylinder, with a lifting capacity of up to 4000 kg.

Both the rear and front attachments use hook grips from Waltershied (Germany). They provide convenient and safe aggregation with agricultural machines and units of domestic and foreign production. Like the front linkage, upon separate special order the XTA-250 tractor can be equipped with a hydraulic displacement front power take-off shaft. Front PTO rotation speed – 1000 rpm.

The five-section proportional distributor of the hydraulic system, manufactured by the Italian company Bondioli & Pavesi, guarantees consistently smooth adjustment of the oil flow in each section, which is important, for example, for setting up the seed supply system and for applying fertilizers with a large seeding complex.

To connect the hydraulic cylinders of agricultural machines with a three-section distributor, 4 quick-release breakaway couplings were installed. The attachment with a pair of hydraulic cylinders is designed for a lifting capacity of up to 6 tons. It is possible to install an automatic coupler to simplify the connection of equipment. For active machines, a separate power take-off shaft with 540 or 1000 rpm is used.

Cabin of the tractor HTA-250 Slobozhanets

The cabin of this tractor is significantly improved and spacious compared to the classic T-150K. It is already equipped as standard with an air filtration system, air conditioning, a car radio, sound insulation of decent quality, an adjustable steering column, modern comfortable seats (most importantly - with air suspension) and convenient controls - to ensure comfortable working conditions for the operator and increase his productivity.

The XTA-220 tractor is equipped with a YaMZ-236NE turbocharged engine (230 hp) produced by Avtodizel OJSC. It is possible to install a YaMZ-236M2 engine with a power of 180 hp. or YaMZ-238M2 with a power of 240 hp.

The XTA-200 tractor is equipped with a D-260.4 engine with a power of 210 hp. produced by PRUE Minsk Motor Plant.

At the customer's request, it is possible to install an air conditioner. The XTA-200 tractor is equipped with an adjustable steering column of the original design. The height adjustment range is 120 mm, the tilt angle is 15 degrees.

Carrying system. The XTA-220 tractor frame is channel-type and consists of front and rear semi-frames. The angle of mutual rotation along the vertical hinge to the left and right is 30° and along the horizontal hinge - up and down by 15°.

Transmission. The clutch is dry, double-disc, using a pressure disc with a YaMZ casing. The gearbox is mechanical with hydraulic gear shifting on the move without interrupting the power flow within each range. The XTA-220 tractor is equipped with axles with a hypoid main gear with a self-locking differential and planetary-type wheel reducers.

Steering. The steering is hydrostatic with a metering pump (HKUQ - made in Bulgaria) and two actuator cylinders mounted on the brackets of the front and rear articulated semi-frames.

Air purification system. The engine air cleaning system is two-stage. Consists of a multicyclone for air pre-cleaning and paper filter cartridges.

Exhaust system. The exhaust gas exhaust system of the XTA-220 tractor consists of gas pipelines, a muffler and an exhaust pipe. The muffler is reactive-active, located horizontally on the left side under the tractor cab. The exhaust pipe is located behind the cab on the left side and carries exhaust gases upward.

Electrical equipment. The XTA-220 tractor is equipped with electrical equipment that allows, in addition to performing generally accepted functions, additional additional ones. The tractor is equipped with a microprocessor device (IRT-2 mode indicator) that allows it to perform the functions of a tachometer and hour meter and additional functions: alarm signaling of critical engine speed, emergency engine oil pressure, emergency coolant temperature, emergency gearbox oil pressure, emergency pressure in the pneumatic system with sound supply signal, information messages about the next maintenance, air filter clogging, oil and fuel filters clogging, battery condition, generator operation. The XTA-220 tractor is equipped with: electric windshield wipers, electric windows, illuminated cabin steps when opening the door.

The batteries are installed two side by side in the niche of the right fuel tank between the wheels in the zone of least vibration. On the XTA-200 tractor, a tool storage box is installed on the rear semi-frame between the wings across the tractor.

There is a modification of the XTA-200 tractor - XTA-200-02 with a front-mounted linkage with a lifting capacity of 5 tons on the suspension axis and a PTO gearbox. Designed to work with front-mounted attachments (rotary snow blowers, brush cutters, mowers, reapers, tillage implements, etc.).

Reviews of tractors of this model

The XTA-250 Slobozhanets tractor, for a number of reasons, is not widely used on farms. Rural workers, known for their distrust of everything new and not mass-produced, bought them reluctantly. According to widespread rumors, Slobozhantsy collected extensively restored parts from old Soviet T-150K tractors. Which, in principle, is considered no less reliable than a new modernly assembled KhTZ tractor. However, it still does not inspire confidence.

The author of one review puts it this way: “Slobozhanets is a small private enterprise that is engaged in restoring old tractors, but they do not have a full-fledged production of their own! Everything is done at different enterprises, where it is impossible to control the quality of the parts. They fuse everything that can be fused, they rivet, sandblast and paint everything that can be riveted.” But the price, compared to analogues from large factories, is attractive.
