Design features

The engine of the T-150 tractor is located in the front part. The clutch and dual-flow gearbox are attached to it.

Engine

For a long time, the T-150 was equipped with SMD-60 brand components. Compared to other engines, this power plant had a special design. The engine has a four-stroke six-cylinder design. The cylinders have a double-row arrangement. The left row is slightly offset, which allows for the additional installation of two connecting rods.

All units and mechanisms are located very compactly. The fuel pump is located at the rear of the power plant. There is also a gas distribution drive here. The water pump has a centrifugal design. According to the passport, the tractor’s fuel consumption is 185 g/e, hp.

Transmission

The history of the creation of a popular model

However, let's go back in time, to November 25, 1983 - the day when KhTZ released a tracked modification of its most famous and most sought-after tractor. We are, of course, talking about the T 150 K wheeled tractor and its “caterpillar” incarnation. The difference of just one letter gave the country one of the most productive and efficient tracked agricultural units of that time.

Structurally, the new tractor, released a full 10 years later than its wheeled brother, differed only in the chassis, suspension and gear shift nuances. Design Features

The basis of the chassis is a “breakable” frame. This design received this name due to the fact that its sections can rotate towards each other in two planes (18 degrees in the vertical and 30 degrees in the horizontal) due to the connecting hinge mechanism. The chassis suspension is sprung at the front and balanced at the rear. Hydraulic shock absorbers located on the front bearing units of the balancers reduce shock, shock and vibration when moving on uneven ground. The chassis is controlled using the steering wheel.

The wheeled model T-150K can be used not only for its intended purpose (sowing or harvesting, cultivating and plowing the soil), but also for transporting goods using a trailer or semi-trailer.

It is also worth noting another feature of the wheeled T-150K: the model is maximally unified with the T-150 crawler tractor.

Maintenance of SMD 60/62 engines

It is recommended to use special brands as lubricating fluids for tractor engines of these models. In summer it is M10G engine oil, and in winter it is M8G. If you are unable to purchase the recommended liquids, you can temporarily use substitutes:

  • winter diesel oil - DS-8.
