The most unpredictable internal combustion engine on the market is 2l-te and not 1G-FE. I assembled both of these engines at least 10 times. - 2L-T is a complete copy of the base engine with the exception of the turbine. The supercharger raised power to 91 hp, increased torque and livened up the unit a little. But the engine still has a mechanical injection pump and the same shortcomings as in the version without a supercharger.
- 2L-TE – version with modern electronics. They added a number of automation systems to the fuel injection pump, and also installed the EFI injection type, which was an advanced solution at that time. The unit received 97 hp. Land Cruiser Prado has also been added to the target models.
2L-THE – the latest modification for 100 horses. Another important thing was added to this unit - the famous Toyota Supercharger with the highest efficiency at that time.
As you can see, the struggle was for every horsepower. Today, all these engines have lost their relevance. Buying 2L versions as a swap option also makes no sense.
